"I don’t know what you’re talking about. A Harper speaking about an affair would be crazy since your wife cos from the Harper family and I don’t see how I would be involved," Nora replied.

Nora had to calm herself down and properly think this ti. Liam bringing this up ant either Beth said sothing or he saw sothing so lying wasn’t going to get her too far.

"I don’t want to be involved with any married man. It’s beneath and I am hurt that you assud I am part of so sche. Is it because of what Jero told you?" Nora asked, knowing Jero had to be behind this. "I’m sorry if you didn’t like it but all your employees do not have to like your wife. There isn’t a law that says we need to."

"I don’t want all of you to think you need to like my wife. Whether you like her or not isn’t sothing I care about. What I care about is you focusing on your job and not my marriage. I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt but I am certain you are the woman Beth is speaking about," said Liam.

He just had a gut feeling that it was Nora. She was in the perfect position for the rumour to grow and she was the only one around him that he caught eting with Beth so far.

"I don’t know what you are talking about. I must warn you not to accuse soone so lightly. There will be serious consequences if-"

"I am willing to face the consequences to get so answers. Should I call Beth here?" Liam asked, reaching for his phone despite not having Beth’s number. "Do you want to hear how much money she would throw you under a bus for? Do you want to test that? How much do you trust Beth?"

Nora didn’t have a response since she didn’t trust Beth. Beth would certainly accept what Liam offered and put this all on her. Then there was that silly recording which didn’t an much because she didn’t say anything wrong but it showed they had been eting and talking about Liam.

Nora didn’t know what else Beth was going around recording. Still, she smiled because Liam couldn’t prove anything. "I might have been approached because she thought you liked . There’s been talk about you being involved with soone in the office for months now. Everyone’s been trying to guess who it is and unfortunately for , so think it is ."

Nora knew exactly why it started. It was because of the night the legal team had to stay back with Liam and she was running back and forth having to pass on files to him since Jero was busy doing sothing else.

Liam allowed her to sit in his office to rest her feet and others took her being in his office for a little while as sothing else. Nora didn’t bother to clear it up since she didn’t feel the need to. It was the others making this big misunderstanding, not her. They could all look in his office to see that nothing happened yet they went ahead with the story.

’How did Beth know?’ Nora wondered. Liam should spend his ti looking into who Beth was friends with here.

"As soone who doesn’t want to be involved with a married man when you heard other people putting you as the one I am having an affair with you didn’t think it was important to bring that up to ? Or did you need to speak about soone else before you reported it?" Liam asked, getting off the table so he could stand straight.

Nora regretted speaking too much. She should have acted like she didn’t know anything about the office rumours.

Liam looked over from Nora to Jero. "Have you ever heard of these rumours, Jero?"

"No, I haven’t," Jero replied.

Nora didn’t expect Jero to since he didn’t have any friends in the office who would tell him the office gossip and this rumour was shared between the won.

"So, it’s a small group of you sitting around with nothing to do but speak about my marriage and I’ve been paying you all this while? I’ve made the mistake of taking too long to understand the reason for your stupidity when you co around -’

"Oh, don’t tell now that you weren’t aware I had feelings for you because your wife must have caught on when she ca to the office. There had always been sothing between us. We just make more sense than your wife," Nora argued, refusing to let Liam act like there was nothing.

Liam could only stare at Nora in wonder. He had been around delusional people all his life but to et a new one and hear their theories was always sothing amusing to listen to.

"We do not make any kind of sense and there is nothing between us. Jero, I want her out by the end of the day and put out a warning that there will be consequences for anyone who talks about being with one of my employees. This is work, not a drama set. My marriage will not be used for your or anyone’s entertainnt," said Liam.

Nora needed a second to grasp what Liam said. "Wait. Are you firing ? Over what? I did nothing wrong. You just don’t like accepting responsibility for how you acted towards and every woman in the office. You were always too friendly."

"You wanted to be rude to you?" Liam asked, not understanding her point.

He greeted them, tried to be active in conversations about their lives at company dinners, and created an environnt where they could co to him with issues. Was he to be rude and run whenever one of them ca near?

Liam couldn’t help but laugh. "Jero, get her out."

"No!" Nora refused to leave. She had given too much ti to the company to leave like this. "I will file a complaint."

"About what? Amuse and do it," Liam challenged Nora. "See that harassnt lie, I was going to get you out of the office for so ti while we decide what to do with you. You hadn’t put a na to it so you could have co back as long as you promised not to lie about that again but you sank yourself by getting involved with Beth."

"It is a lie," Liam spoke over Nora when she opened her mouth. "I don’t know what you forced yourself to believe but it never happened. Kindness doesn’t an that soone wants to be with you. I have a wife I love very much and for you to think you could go around with these rumours that could have affected my marriage and get away with it was stupid."
