Veronica tried to focus on the television but her mind was elsewhere. Liam had already inford her that she wouldn’t be able to et her father but she was still curious about him and now wanted to know more about where her mother was.

What was the plan for Evelyn? Was Evelyn ever going to be seen again?

Veronica didn’t feel bad for her mother. Evelyn had to learn her lesson at so point and the right person had returned to do it.

"Year after year of hearing how poor my father was," said Veronica.

Evelyn had not only played Veronica but she had played Henry by making him think the support sent for Veronica was little. Thanks to Evelyn leaving out how much money was sent, Veronica had to listen to Henry grumbling about spending money on a child that wasn’t his.

Veronica heard his complaints so much that she never asked him for anything. No birthday or gifts on the holidays. It hurt to have to watch Beth be spoiled but Veronica knew her place in the Harpers.

"I have a headache," Veronica said, rubbing her forehead.

Each year there was sothing new about her mother to co out to seal the fact that Evelyn was a terrible mother. To see her motherly side you would have to not be her daughter.

"Are you feeling sick?" Liam asked, noticing how she rubbed her head like she wanted to remove the skin. "Should I call your doctor?"

"No. We’ve already bothered him enough and I don’t want to hear any more questions about how my mory is back. Or what mory is clear and which is foggy? He’s starting to treat like an experint. I was thinking about my father and all his plans," Veronica shared.

Liam sat down beside Veronica. He knew that she wouldn’t just give up trying to see her father because of what he told her. "Are you planning to try hunting him down?"

"No," Veronica shook her head. "What’s the point in wasting more of my ti trying to find soone who can’t be found easily? The only way I would see him is if he reaches out to like he reached out to you. I was just thinking about what he plans to do to everyone. He has my mother."

"Are you thinking about going to save her?" Liam asked and then laughed at the look he received from Veronica.

"You couldn’t pay to save her. The only way I would save her was if your life were on the line but then I would find a way to put her right back where she ca from. Wherever she is, I hope she’s suffering. She could have taken that money and had soone else watch over in a different ho or could have just been a mother to but she did the opposite," Veronica said, her heart closed to her mother.

"It’s a little disappointing that I can’t see her stressing out about where she is now. It’s a little unfair that I don’t get to see. He should allow to see it as a gift for all the birthdays he missed. What kind of work do you think he’s involved with? Killing people?" Veronica asked, hoping it wasn’t so.

Just because her father was helping her didn’t an she wanted a murderer for a father. How did two people like her mother and father end up together?

"Most likely. If he can’t show his face to you then he does things that would get him locked away for a long ti. He was fast when he talked to . He wasn’t out of the car for long. What your parents do for work does not reflect on you. I’d say you turned out quite well given the circumstances. I don’t know how you did it," Liam said, amazed that she turned out normal.

"I wasn’t close to anyone so their ways didn’t rub off on . How did he manage to get Henry’s dealership to go down?" Veronica wondered.

The dealership was already in a bad position after Henry took over but it went from bad to worse in the blink of an eye. Like everything wrong about the dealership had multiplied overnight and now it was too out of hand for Henry to control.

"His ti has to be split between dealing with Beth’s situation, finding my mother, and now his dealership. I always heard it was better when Beth’s parents ran it," said Veronica.

"It was," Liam nodded his head. "That was a ti when the Harper na ant sothing but as soon as Henry got his hands on it, it started to go under. I don’t know what your father uses to get what he needs to be done so accurately, but he knew where to hit Henry hard. His thods might not be what we would use."

"Oh, I’m sure about that. Perhaps threats," Veronica assud. "Maybe he will be able to get rid of Vance. I know my mother and Henry are easier to deal with compared to Vance but it’s starting to look like he might have a chance if he does it the right way."

Veronica shifted in her seat to face Liam. "You know your grandfather better than I do so what do you think? I might not rember much about my father to love him but I don’t want him to end up dead over trying to get revenge for what happened to . I don’t need that kind of guilt."

"It could go either way. My grandfather isn’t an easy man and your father seems willing to do everything in his power to take down everyone. We shouldn’t speak about it too much to jinx anything. If it looks like everything is going downhill then I will join your father and send you out of the city with Jero," said Liam.

Veronica still didn’t want to be too far away from Liam but there wasn’t anything she could do to help anyone. She would only be used again by Liam and her father if she stuck around. "My bags are almost done packed for when we or well, I need to leave. I’m going to enjoy the beach while you try to kill your grandfather. It’ll be a nice story to tell our children one day. I want ice cream."

Liam held Veronica’s hand to stop her from getting up. "So, you’ve thought more about the ti we should have children?"

"Of course I did. When all our crazy relatives are dealt with, we should start trying again. To bring them into a world with your grandfather and my mother seems awful. We shouldn’t have our children suffer," Veronica replied.
