"I already said why I couldn’t do that. If she wants you then so be it, but I have a feeling she will not try to get rid of you over this. Just go ho, and we’ll finish talking about it with my wife another ti. You should look out for the car taking you ho," Liam advised Edna.

Edna was too disappointed with her actions to say anything more. She should have told him about Adeline reaching out to her or simply not answering Adeline since she was aware of the strained relationship between mother and son. She got herself into sothing that she shouldn’t have any parts of and it would be her to lose a good job.

Liam left Edna’s side to make a call about Benjamin driving around the city. If he was lucky, he wouldn’t wake up to the news reporting about his uncle hurting anyone.

For the first ti in a while, Liam hoped that Benjamin kept himself alive to put on a good show. He looked forward to seeing what Benjamin had to use against Vance. Liam believed that Benjamin knew so of Vance’s secrets but what he didn’t believe was his uncle being bold to go against Vance.

Benjamin turning on Vance had the sa low chance of Adeline finally leaving her family for good.

After making the call, Liam returned upstairs to Veronica where the mood must have already passed. Who would want to do anything romantic while Benjamin was on their mind?

’I should have thrown the bottle at him,’ Liam thought, regretting that he didn’t do sothing in response to Benjamin showing up here so late.

When Liam opened the bedroom door, he found Veronica lying on their bed staring at the ceiling like she was lost in thought.

The sound of the door closing made Veronica snap out of her deep thoughts.

"How did it go?" She asked, sitting up.

"He ca to get my help to go against my grandfather. He claims he doesn’t need Vance anymore but he wanted to find out where my mother has gone. I don’t believe he will go up against Vance. He wants

to do it and he’ll co in at the end to reap the benefits. I am not doing it until he proves that he’s serious," Liam shared.

"Oh. I wish I had gone to watch the security caras to listen in. I’m curious how your uncle acts since you describe him to be an idiot. If he does prove that he will go against your grandfather would you work with him? You say he always sses up so what if he slips your plans to his father?" Veronica asked, worried this might not be a good idea.

So far Vance wasn’t approaching them by himself but if Benjamin did sothing stupid then they were going to beco a target before they could deal with other important matters.

"I’m not going to tell you what to do but I just ask for you to be careful. You know your family better than I do so you know how to go about this but I won’t lie that I am not worried. Maybe we should do like your mother and take a break," said Veronica.

Liam sat down on the bed. "You want to leave the city?"

"Not for good. I like it here but it’s always one thing after another. I have to et with my mother so I just can’t leave even for a mont but I would if I could. If I knew where my father was, I would leave the city for a mont to look for him. I have to wait for you to find so clue," Veronica said, feeling stuck in the midst of drama. "Are you still going to strip for ?"

Veronica still wanted to be entertained by Liam.

"I don’t think your father is a regular person or maybe he’s tied to soone influential. Benjamin told

that my grandfather was looking into your family but he couldn’t find anything about your parents. Your father is a whole mystery but what does your mother have to hide?" Liam wondered.

Everyone already knew that Evelyn had been married before. They didn’t know about the acting work she claid to have done before but Liam couldn’t count a lot of tis he t with Veronica’s relatives. Most who attended the wedding weren’t blood-related but people she t and beca close to.

"If he’s not a regular person then why did my mother leave him? Maybe they fell out of love but still. I have seen from day one of opening my eyes that she likes money. I will be kind and say that she loves Henry. It’s all too confusing," Veronica said, not knowing what to think.

"Your father could be soone dangerous. His influence has to be a lot for my grandfather to not find out who he is and I am struggling to find him even though I paid the best people to. There’s a chance your father could be soone dangerous. He could be staying away for good reason or-"

"-he doesn’t care," Veronica finished. "My face was in the news for a few days. If he was keeping up on what I was doing then he should have known what happened but he didn’t."

"If he’s soone who can’t be out showing his face then we don’t know if he has co around or not. He could be already here watching you. If he is dangerous, I am glad that he hasn’t co to see you for now. You don’t need anyone’s troubles right now," said Liam.

"When you look at it like that, I understand it. So then what was the picture I was looking at? The one with the restaurant. Then again, I don’t know if that was concerning my father. I won’t know until I get my phone. We do need a vacation after this," Veronica said, falling back onto the bed.

"Why?!" Veronica exclaid. ’I have not done anything."

From school to the apartnt you were able to get for a good price. Let’s see if your father has always been close by," said Liam, having a good feeling this was how to get their answers.
