Veronica laughed, tickled by Liam’s actions. Her hair was decorated with sand and everything else that had washed up where they placed their blanket. She had dangled a treat before a starving man and he was enjoying himself a bit too much.

Veronica was first startled when Liam lifted her to take her back to the shade under the tree where they set up their picnic but she was enjoying herself. She was no longer on the blanket with the ends of her wet hair trapping the sand on it.

"Liam," she touched his face. "As fun as this is, your hand is going a little too low and I’m afraid we’re going to get banned from this beach."

"I’ll buy it," Liam said against her skin. She should have thought twice about how they looked when she kissed him first.

"You can’t just buy a beach. It’s not fair to everyone else who likes to co here. Liam," Veronica pushed him off her so he could see her. "We should finish this at ho. I don’t want to end up posted anywhere for this."

"Are we going ho now?"

"You," Veronica couldn’t believe his response. "We are not going ho now. We still have food to enjoy before we head back."

"I’m almost full-"

"Please," Veronica covered his mouth. "I woke a sleeping animal. I know where your hand is."

"I wasn’t hiding where it was," Liam said, moving his hand from her leg. He was getting a little ahead of himself but he was excited. Too excited.

Liam sat up, letting go of Veronica before his excitent got out of hand and was very visible.

Veronica sat up, raking her fingers through her hair to try to get so of the sand out her hair or his car would be a ss when they had to go ho. "I know what you’re doing. I already felt it. Just a little kiss and you’re like this. You must really love

Veronica shrugged her shoulders. "Good thing we’re at the beach."

Liam shook his head. This had to be so kind of very long dream. "I think I left my wife in that water and brought out a fraud. Let’s go back in to get her."

and unfortunately for you, I am not ready to go back in the water. I’ve been thinking about kissing you for a while now but I didn’t dare to do it. I feel like I’m in my first relationship and I’m being all shy even though we’re married. I need to know what we can and can’t do."

"I was leaving it up to you. I’m the stranger to you and you pulled away at first which was understandable but we’re getting closer day by day. Not as close as before everything happened but close. I didn’t want to ruin it so I was waiting for you. Just tell

what you feel or I won’t know," Liam said.

"I know. I should have just told you but let’s be honest here. There’s a little awkwardness between us sotis because we’re still figuring this out. It’s one of the reasons I want my mories back fast so this doesn’t feel awkward. In our little bubble, I have a good life and I want it back. Now," Veronica said, impatient.

"You do have it back. You could have been unlucky to not wake up. I hate to think about having to plan a funeral. Despite how this second chance is, you should be grateful to be alive and well. I told you that I am fine if your mories don’t co back. I am going to love you regardless. All the argunts I lost have been forgotten," Liam joked.

Veronica frowned. "You know how to kill a good mont. I am going to try to rember those argunts first. What did we argue about?"

"Where to put sothing. Little things like that and I was certain that I won but you thought otherwise. To put an end to it, I said that you won," said Liam.

Veronica was suspicious of this. "I don’t believe that. For the kind of woman you described

to be I think that I won and you’re trying to lie to

now. To think I kissed a liar."

"I’m not lying," Liam laughed.

"Sure, sure," Veronica replied, turning her attention to the food. "I’ll let you get away with it just this once. I have too much sand on

thanks to you. I wanted a sweet little kiss and you had us rolling around in the sand. I’m a little worried about letting you in the bedroom tonight."

"I’m not so kind of horny man. I have self-control. The real question is do you?" Liam asked, taking off his wet shirt as he spoke. He smiled, knowing her self-control was slowly slipping away and she didn’t notice it.

Veronica didn’t see the need for him to take off his shirt now but she enjoyed the view. She knew he was doing this to prove his point but she didn’t mind. She regretted not planning better to see him in just swimming trunks.

"I’m going to wash off this sand. I’ll see if I can bribe soone to give

one of their buckets so you can wash off."

Veronica didn’t hear everything Liam told her. She was fixated on looking at him. He was such a tease and rather than feel shy or guilty for looking at him, she enjoyed the show.

Veronica noticed the attention he received from two passing won but Liam was oblivious to it. It wasn’t surprising that he missed the fact that soone like Nora liked him because he had a way of ignoring the world around him.

The sound of a phone buzzing took her attention from Liam.

"Is it mine? Liam’s," Veronica realised.

She picked up his phone and turned on the screen. There was a password which she wasn’t upset by. It wouldn’t be safe for him to go around with his phone unlocked.

Veronica was about to put it back down since she couldn’t unlock it to see what caused it to make a noise but just before she did, she saw Adeline’s na and a short ssage that was cut off since the phone was locked.

"We need to talk urgently," was all that Veronica was able to read.

What was it now with Adeline? What trouble was she going to bring them now?

Veronica set the phone aside. She would tell him about it when they got in the car since the mont was too good to let Adeline ruin it.
