Chapter 62: Chapter 62

"Where is Veronica?" Liam asked Edna.

"Oh! Last I saw her, she was coming out of her room to go sit on the bench," Edna replied, tiptoeing to try looking outside at Veronica.

"Thank you. You can leave as soon as you’re done. We might head out for dinner," said Liam.

Liam headed outside to the bench Veronica was spending a lot of ti on these days. Seeing that she was enjoying the scenery behind their ho, Liam thought of taking her on the vacation he ntioned before.

He didn’t have good news about her phone. The location they believed they tracked it to would put Veronica in a bad mood.

Veronica was so engrossed in the view that she didn’t notice Liam was standing to the right of her, watching her.

"Veronica," he called to get her attention.

"Oh, Liam! How long were you standing there for?" Veronica asked, starting to get up.

"I just ca. The evening sky looks pretty," Liam noted as he walked to Veronica.

"It is. I was just thinking about how much I regretted not bringing my phone down to take a picture of this. Luckily, I’ll be here tomorrow and the day after that to take one. So, did you find anything out about my phone? Is it too soon to know sothing?" Veronica asked, hoping for a lead.

"It was on like you said which made it easy for us to start tracking it this ti. It ended my theory that it was lost in the water. Since it was turned on, I was able to use the tracking setup we had on it and the location seems to be where your mother lives," Liam revealed.

"What?" Veronica laughed though she didn’t an to. "My mother?"

"It could also be Beth or your stepfather. We know where it is now but we don’t know who has it. They are all going with the story that they were together the day you were found but one of them has your phone. I never believed their alibi and your stepfather gave away it was a lie when I ntioned caras," Liam said, rembering the panic on Henry’s face.

Liam continued, "I have soone tailing all of them so I will know wherever they go, who they et with, and if they try to get rid of that phone. I’ll pass on the location to the detective I’ve been in contact with but I might need more evidence."

Veronica heard Liam speaking but she wasn’t able to take in all that he was telling her since she was stuck on where the phone was located. She didn’t think highly of that family but to think one of them might be involved and they were all so bold to be in her hospital room was scary.

"The phone is turned off again but we got the important information already. I know you probably want to march over there and get it yourself but you can’t. We need to do this the right way so they can’t hide anything. Are you alright?" Liam asked, holding her right hand as the mont called for it.

"Actually, I don’t want to see any of them again. They were already horrible but it just got even lower. As much as we don’t love each other, it is still sothing evil for my mother to be part of that. How could you give birth to soone and then hate them that much? Over what? Money?" Veronica questioned, unable to avoid the hurt she felt.

"Had I married a man who doesn’t fit her standards then I probably wouldn’t have seen my mother again. I could give her a lot of money to stay away from

but she would just co back again. It makes

wonder what I endured when I lived with them since I didn’t fit into their world. Thank you," Veronica said, feeling relieved when she looked at Liam.

"All the credit should go to you and a very, very small amount to Julia. You’re the one who brought it-"

"No, not that. I ant to co into my life. It made my mother suddenly interested in

because you have money but still, I have a family thanks to you. It’s small so I am going to count Edna and Jero to it so far but I rather have this small family over anything else," Veronica said, seeing it worth more than what others saw.

Veronica started to think that if Liam hadn’t loved her, she might have ended up in her mother’s care which she could have then died that ti around.

"I need to thank you. I’ve got a big family but I hardly care for any of them. If not for you, I might have moved to another country to get far away from them. I still think about doing it and taking you with . To go where no one knows us," Liam proposed.

"Unfortunately, that isn’t going to happen thanks to your face. I’ve searched your na and a lot of articles about you have co up. A lot of people are waiting for you to try your hand at modelling or acting. I don’t know about acting but I would like to see you model. How much do you think I could get for the old pictures I have of you?" Veronica asked, having a new business idea.

"My wife would sell

out like this?" Liam joked.

"For the right price, I might. Then we can pull you away from the business world and put you in entertainnt. Your family would really love

then if they find out," Veronica sarcastically spoke.

Adeline might pass out which made Veronica even more tempted to convince Liam.

"You don’t need to worry about

secretly selling your pictures. You’ve already got enough won around you eyeing. Looking back, I think the woman from your office is one of them but I don’t mind. It must be dreamy to have a good-looking boss," Veronica dismissed their interest.

As long as they were just looking and Liam wasn’t entertaining it, there wasn’t any need for concern. She couldn’t go around stopping won from looking at him and Veronica had bigger fish to fry.

"Lunch today was good. I am leaning toward the two of us going out for dinner just this once and then we go back to eating at ho. We need to enjoy how peaceful it is to go out together now before soone starts so trouble. I have a feeling that trouble will be coming soon," Veronica said.

She hoped she was wrong but with many either wanting sothing from them or to separate them, this peace wouldn’t be long.
