Chapter 54: Chapter 54

"When we decided on going to eat pasta, I expected a nice restaurant filled with people enjoying the lunch hour but this is sothing else. What is happening here, Liam?" Veronica asked, looking around the empty restaurant as she walked in.

She wasn’t going to ignore the obvious that Liam paid soone to have it empty just for them. Veronica noticed a man on the outside puzzled that the sign said closed but they were allowed to enter.

"I thought you would like to eat in peace," Liam replied.

"I’ve learned that I am good at drowning out noise so you don’t need to make it empty for ."

"Well, then I made it empty for ," Liam replied so his actions were justified.

Veronica wanted to reach to pinch Liam but he was holding her hand in a way she couldn’t reach his skin. Rather than object and go sowhere else to eat, she planned to enjoy the mont. Sothing like this might only be seen in movies yet she was experiencing it.

"Welco back Mr and Mrs Sterling. Your table is ready."

Veronica wondered how many tis they ca here in the past. Everything Liam pointed out she liked in the past made her feel on cloud nine when she had them again. Veronica looked forward to the pasta they would have here and so of the wine on display.

"I got it," Liam told the waiter walking with them.

Liam pulled out Veronica’s chair for her to sit first. "All that is missing is the flowers to make you see this as a good first date."

Veronica laughed and took her seat. "We’re already married so what flowers would get you out on this date?"

"A kiss?" Liam asked as moved to his seat.

"We’ll see depending on how this lunch does. Maybe you might earn yourself a date for dinner tonight," Veronica said, playing into the flirting.

"Oh. You weren’t planning on coming downstairs for dinner tonight?" Liam asked.

"Just for that, you made

lose interest in going out again tonight instead of staying ho. I like to be outside like this to get to see the city. So of the people living here are annoying but it is pretty," Veronica said, staring out the window they were seated by. "Should we move? What if soone was following us to take pictures?"

"They can’t see inside. The glass is tinted which makes this a good spot. I should get rid of that car," Liam said as it gave away where he was. "But they’ll always figure out which one I buy. I’ll need to switch out which car I drive every day."

"Which?" Veronica asked, puzzled by what he ant.

Liam smiled as it was amazing how she was so clueless about their cars when she was ho for a day to look around. "Haven’t you seen the garages?"

Veronica shook her head. "No. I didn’t even know there was more than one. How many cars do we have?"

"Five," Liam replied. "A sports car for each, two of what I drove today and since we needed to be safe sotis, you had

buy a minivan."

"What is so bad about a minivan? I know it’s a safe car like that one, right?" Veronica pointed at a car that drove by the restaurant. "It’s nice and safe if we were to ever have children. Oh, is that why? Had we talked about having children?"

"We did. We were just waiting on the right timing since you were dealing with the gallery and I had a lot of big projects. We both agreed we should wait for when we weren’t too busy. Don’t want soone else to raise our child," Liam answered.

Veronica had a feeling she couldn’t explain upon knowing they thought about a child. This position she found herself in was putting a pause on a lot of things. "I’m glad to hear that we wanted to raise our child. I don’t want to create another . Seeing your family but not being raised by them. Do you think you would be a good father?"

"Yes. Clumsy at first since I’m new to it but the best father I can be. I know you would make a good mother. You had your fears about being just like your mother but you are not like Evelyn. I wouldn’t have married you if you were," Liam said, making a bold move to reach across the table to hold her hand.

Veronica didn’t pull away from him. Sothing about the mont left her wanting to feel his touch. If not for being in the restaurant, she might have hugged him.

A sad feeling ca upon her and she didn’t know what for. The hardest part about all of this was having these emotions but not knowing the reason behind them. There was a story behind what she felt but it was trapped inside her head.

"I forgot to tell you, when my mother ca to the gallery today I rembered sothing about us speaking about my father. She wasn’t happy when I ntioned him and was sure he would drag us down if I found him. Can I ask you for a favour?" Veronica asked, this ti deciding to use Liam’s help.

"I’m a little offended you think you need to ask. What is it?" Liam questioned, having a good guess it was about her father.

"Can you find my father for ? You don’t need to ntion

to him, I just want to find out where he is and then I will go from there. Everything I’ve been finding out piece by piece leads

to think I was searching for him. Edna ntioned she noticed

looking at a restaurant but she doesn’t rember much of what it looks like," said Veronica.

"I can find him for you. I’ll get Jero to put soone on it today. Unless your mother changed her na, it shouldn’t be hard to get his na. If he’s hiding for so reason then it might take a while to track him down but I’ll get him," Liam promised Veronica.

He couldn’t fail her when she was trusting him to do sothing for her this ti around.

"I wonder what he is like. You don’t know him so he’s never co around and my mother doesn’t want him to visit her. Is he a bad person or did he just move on with his life and have a new family? I’m a little curious and hope I won’t be disappointed. It would be unfortunate to have two crappy parents,’ Veronica said, hoping for the best.
