At approximately noon the next day, Fisher packed up the items he carried with him, taking Jasmine to prepare to leave the Klein Mountains and head to Saint-Nazareth city to attend the charity gala located at the Healing House.
As for Xi Yate, she didn't have anything going on recently anyway. Staying at the Southern Continent Demi-Human Protection Association surprisingly left her without food to eat, nor was it as comfortable as in the mountains. Therefore, she didn't plan to take Fisher's carriage to leave together, preparing to stroll by herself while slowly walking back to her own house.
"Well, although I don't know what you guys are going to do this ti, if you need help, co find again. I'll head back to the Protection Association side later; I'm very reliable..."
"No problem."
Standing in front of the carriage, Xi Yate placed her hands on her hips, carrying a bow on her back, speaking as such to Fisher who was holding the reins.
The window of the carriage compartnt also opened a small crack at this mont, revealing a pair of bright, watery large eyes belonging to Jasmine. She likewise waved her hand to bid farewell to Xi Yate, concurrently saying "Goodbye".
After nodding at Xi Yate, Fisher softly hollered, whipping the horses that had eaten grass for several days to head toward the direction of the city. He still needed to return to his rented house to change into a piece of clothing. After all, the charity gala would only officially begin at evening ti; the timing was still considered ample.
The carriage slowly drove across the grassy land in the suburbs of Saint-Nazareth. Along the way, the river slowly split from their path, heading toward another direction.
Simultaneously, the buildings of the Southern Continent Demi-Human Protection Association and Saint-Nazareth University seen when they ca sequentially appeared in Fisher and Jasmine's line of sight.
Ever since Saint-Nazareth University experienced attacks one after another and also phenona of demi-humans mixing in appeared, the security there had beco quite a bit stricter than before. They were even preparing to construct a wall twice the height of a person. The adobe of that wall blocked a bit of Jasmine's line of sight, preventing her from seeing the outline of the natatorium.
She retracted her gaze rather disappointedly, and stealthily ran to the front of the carriage compartnt door again, watching Fisher drive the carriage.
And Saint-Nazareth city ahead was still bustling. The city that had already entered the morning was filled with clamor and human voices everywhere, emitting a radiant brilliance exactly like the pearl of the West Continent.
But the weather in Naris entering autumn right now wasn't good. In the distant sky slightly closer to the ocean, water vapor faintly gathered into a cumulonimbus cloud carrying heavy shadows, slowly moving here from the other side of the ocean. Hence, there was a feeling of a storm brewing.
Heavy water vapor was brought into his chest cavity by Fisher's breathing. He slowly put on his black gentleman's hat. Just as he was about to turn his head, he noticed the carriage compartnt door behind him had once again opened a small crack. Inside, Jasmine's azure eyes were quietly looking at him. As a result, because of his turning motion, she slightly cowered a bit, appearing particularly cute.
"Nervous?"
"...A tiny bit. Because, although Miss Xi Yate taught a lot during training, it's ultimately not a true battle. I'm afraid I might... might get muddled when the ti cos."
"No need to worry. Both Xi Yate and I believe you have made adequate preparations. I have kept your progress these past few days in my eyes; there's no need to improperly belittle yourself. Just bring out your best state to welco the challenge before any mistakes are even made."
Jasmine pursed her lips, looking at the back of Fisher who had turned his head back to watch the road anew, and gently nodded.
"Mhm!"
The location of the Healing House was quite serene. That Klein River flowed down across the wide expanse of flat land from the mountain range in the northeast direction, and frad out a small river bend within Saint-Nazareth city. Within the stretch of verdure prior to that river bend, a building primarily light blue in overall color appeared exactly like taking off a concealing veil before one's eyes.
The side of the road before that building was planted full of neat, verdant vegetation. Looking overall, this Healing House could be called fully tasteful whether in environnt or decoration. No wonder it would receive the love of so many Naris noblewon and ladies, successively taking carriages to rush here from within the urban area to conduct beauty treatnts and relaxation.
In reality, the building of the Healing House had been constructed a very long ti ago. It was just that it had always been little known to the public. The reason lay in that at the very beginning it did not accept guests from the outside, but rather was used as Black's private territory for his own use.
As for what kind of things were being done inside the house of an affluent rchant, naturally no one cared, and it didn't have much connection to their own lives either. Moreover, Black was also the most low-profile one among all the affluent rchants.
It wasn't until recent years that this beauty and maintenance facility situated in the suburbs of Saint-Nazareth began to appear within the sights of Saint-Nazareth's middle class. It might have been publicized by a noblewoman who had gone there to receive treatnt, or it might have been the doing of companies partnering with the Healing House. Anyhow, slowly the nature of this building transford into an externally operating beauty facility.
Today's Healing House was of course extrely bustling. As early as when they had just woken up in the morning, the staff of the Healing House began preparing the venue for the evening banquet. Not only the courtyard outside the building, but the [Surface Layer] inside would also be opened to the guests of Saint-Nazareth. One must know, ordinarily only ladies receiving services could enter within.
At approximately evening ti, due to today's sky being covered by cumulonimbus clouds, the sky darkened quite a bit earlier than usual. However, not long after, distinguished-looking private carriages appeared at the entrance of the Healing House as promised. Many of those carriages would be engraved with patterns of Naris noble family crests and company trademarks rarely seen usually, indicating the factions these carriages belonged to behind the scenes.
And at the front of the Healing House at this ti, three flags had already been raised. Ordered by height from highest to lowest, they were the royal family flag printed with the Godolin Golden Crest, a Petrie Bank symbol marked by an olive leaf, and finally, the lowest flag in the shape of a wave, signifying Black's Healing House.
It was unknown how the symbol of the Healing House was thought up. Anyhow, from the ti it started soliciting guests, its identifier had been as such; over two years the noblewon and ladies were already accustod to it.
And exactly at this mont, looking at the almost fully prepared venue, a beautiful lady wearing a silvery-white formal dress slowly walked out from the Healing House. That lady had tied her beautiful long hair into an elegant hair knot. With hands placed at her lower abdon, she looked at the road ahead carrying a polite smile.
That was the current manager of the Healing House, Madam Katerina.
And the reason she ca out at this ti was naturally to welco the distinguished guests who would make an appearance at the charity gala tonight; the first guest had already arrived here.
Amidst a stretch of silence, a carriage with dark golden accessories slowly stopped at the entrance of the Healing House. Stepping down from it was a young gentleman with a handso face but an unwell complexion. It was exactly the second prince of Godolin IX, His Highness Lensis.
His complexion at this mont was displeased, especially upon seeing Katerina carrying a smile standing at the entrance. Those who didn't know would think soone owed him money.
"Your Highness Lensis... Ugh!"
Katerina perford a slight courtesy toward him, but the approaching Lensis abruptly reached out and grabbed the neck of the woman in front of him. Fortunately, apart from Lensis's entourage, there were no other people around now.
According to the rules, people from the royal family had to be the first to arrive, and must be half an hour early, in order to express reverence toward the royal family.
Abruptly being grabbed by the neck, Katerina's eyes shifted slightly. She arduously looked at the prince in front of her, reaching out as if struggling to grasp his arm. But Lensis's force didn't weaken a bit; it conversely even increased a little, making Katerina's face painfully flush red.
"Don't go too far. I risked danger to forcefully have officials cooperate with you guys to capture that marine demi-human, and you guys haven't yielded any results until now? Do you actually think ti is very loose? Or do you want to wait until Dexter succeeds the throne before being willing to act?"
"Your... Your Highness, Master will return to normal tonight. It won't be much longer, please rest assured..."
Lensis's eyes narrowed dangerously, looking at the woman in front of him. Only after hearing Katerina's explanation did he slowly retract his hand, letting her, who was holding her neck panting, retreat a bit.
"You guys better know what's what in your hearts. Black is just like my father who is about to die of old age; I hope his head is still clear."
After finishing speaking this sentence of warning, Lensis waved his sleeve and walked toward the interior of the Healing House, leaving only Katerina alone still clutching her neck staying perfectly in place.
As Lensis and his entourage walked increasingly farther away, Katerina's expression also gradually turned from demonstrating weakness into angered hideousness. Her fair fingers covered the nape of her neck. Amidst gentle rubbing, the part on her neck pinched red by Lensis gradually squird, hiding to other places exactly like a living entity.
"This damned idiot... Pui!"
Katerina cast a hateful glance behind her, and subsequently slowly straightened her body. If it wasn't for Master having a cooperation with him, she would have eaten that arrogant and incompetent prince long ago. With a caliber like this, he deserved to be drained into that frail appearance by the ladies of the Pink Pavilion.
Originally Katerina still thought about retaliating against Lensis a bit, but suddenly rembering Black would return to normal tonight, that terror stemming from the depths of her soul still made her restrain this kind of thought.
Every month Black had a few days where he was unable to leave his own villa. Moreover, even if there were other informants keeping an eye on her and Anna, it would definitely be after he recovered before he obtained the intelligence. This also proved he fundantally had no consciousness these few days.
Although it was unknown what he was doing inside, Katerina's train of thought wasn't as complex as Anna's. Even though she also had her own little calculations, she really didn't dare to rebel against Black; she rely considered these few days Black was absent as taking a vacation to rest, nothing more.
Once upon a ti when she was captured to Saint-Nazareth by Black, she was also a young girl whose heart was entirely filled with anger and hatred. However, after so many years had gone by, her heart of rebellion had long succumbed to her fear towards Black. She only wanted to rest content with the current status and muddle along.
Even if Lensis humiliated her in such a manner, no matter how angry her heart was, upon thinking of Black she would imdiately shrink back and decide to endure it. From this, the type of person Katerina was could roughly be glimpsed a little.
The front of the Healing House gradually quieted down again. Katerina stood properly anew, putting on a smiling expression, preparing to welco the guests about to arrive next...
After all, tonight would definitely keep her busy.
