He recalled the novel the administrator had ntioned, where almost all the scenes revolved around Si Chu. There were jealousy and rivalry in the air, and all he had to do each day was to make Si Chu happy with his money, keeping things light and enjoyable.

Little did he know that beyond the script, the supporting characters were in dire situations, hanging by a thread, their lives on the line.

Suddenly, Si Di felt a slight disturbance in his spiritual energy, like a kitten’s paw playfully batting at a yarn ball. He was overjoyed and looked at the dark-haired guide, “You did it…”

“Cough, cough!!” Xiao Zhenyun coughed out fresh blood, weakly collapsing backward.

Si Di’s joy turned to alarm in an instant. He quickly leaned over and held the unconscious Xiao Zhenyun. The crimson blood stained his vision and tainted his already fragile sanity. The ntal control he had maintained till now erupted into a frenzy. Si Di, once human, dropped to all fours in his wolf form, his hand that had been gently supporting the guide now tightened, gripping as if to crush bones. Only a faint reminder from the almost faint scent of the guide lingered at his nose, telling him—

You shouldn’t harm this person.

Two bullets grazed Si Di’s wolf ear and embedded into a tree trunk. The frenzied sentry, devoid of reason, roared in rage. Summoning the black wolf at any cost, he darted toward the enemies surrounding him in a quadrilateral formation.

Compared to his chaotic madness, the enemies’ trained formation aid to drain his energy in fights. There were four of them, and no matter how formidable Si Di was, he was just one. If they could withstand his initial outburst, even an S-level sentry would eventually succumb to the struggle of a cornered beast.

In the shadows, a person raised a sniper rifle, aid at the unconscious long-haired guide on the ground, and without hesitation, decisively pulled the trigger. Unexpectedly, amidst his wild attacks, Si Di used his shoulder to block the bullet at the very mont of impact.

Without any sign of regaining sanity, Si Di remained on all fours like a wolf, but he shielded the guide. Perhaps he didn’t even know why he was doing it, but he did it nonetheless. And when the second bullet ca, he maintained the sa protective stance, even though his body was riddled with wounds and soaked in blood.

Suddenly, a sharp and resonant neigh pierced the forest, like the urgent call of a horse at the edge of a cliff. It forcefully penetrated the spiritual domain of every sentry present, accompanied by a ntal whip crack like thunder. In the blink of an eye, the two sentries who had been so confident a mont ago were writhing in pain, clutching their heads on the ground. Si Di’s world turned white, and he collapsed as if his very essence had been drained. Tai Ji disappeared instantly.

Xiao Jingfeng mounted a snow-white steed without a single stray hair, leaping high into the air. He turned the horse around between Xiao Zhenyun and Si Di with a cold expression. He looked at the two sentry guides, miserable and unconscious, on both sides. His lips pressed tightly, his gaze sharp as a blade, and in his overwhelming rage, he swiftly drew his gun and shot through the head of the rcenary who had aid in panic.

Soon, the rest of the guild’s mariti rescue team arrived hastily. They swiftly arrested the two sentry guides who were rendered defenseless by the chairman’s spiritual attack. So continued to chase the fleeing rcenaries, while the others surrounded Xiao Zhenyun and Si Di for urgent treatnt.

Xiao Nian hurriedly erged from the group of tall specialists, his face turned pale as he looked at the lifeless Xiao Zhenyun. Xiao Jingfeng dismounted from his horse, bent down, and picked him up, “It’s alright, your father will be fine.”

“It’s over, all over. I was too slow…” Xiao Nian’s hopes had turned to ashes. With Xiao Zhenyun’s death, more than half of the novel had crumbled. There was no point in following the plot anymore. It was ti to start a new life in a different world.

Xiao Jingfeng couldn’t understand Xiao Nian’s murmurs. He held onto the boy, dodging the hurried dical personnel, and comforted, “You’ve been amazing. If you hadn’t noticed the ergency signal your dad sent you before the aircraft explosion and handed it to

on ti, we wouldn’t have found this place so quickly.”

Xiao Nian fell silent. He believed that Xiao Zhenyun would never think this way. The news of Xiao Zhenyun and Si Di’s disappearance on the aircraft had a ti lag when it reached the guild. Xiao Nian spent over ten hours frantically typing away, tracing the world source code to pinpoint Xiao Zhenyun’s location, then passed the clues to Xiao Jingfeng and tried to convince him to believe, despite the long passage of ti.

If it weren’t for Xiao Zhenyun’s efforts to save himself on the aircraft and his fortunate landing on a deserted island after the explosion, coupled with the incredibly lucky encounter with Si Di, the rescue that took three days to arrive would have been too late for him several tis over.

But at the very least, they caught up.

Xiao Zhenyun realized that in this strange world, each ti he woke up, he felt like he might never wake up again.

Every awakening brought a new sensation, like this ti, he felt better than ever before, so much so that for a mont he thought he was in heaven. The deep-seated weakness and dryness in his bones, along with the parched feeling in his mouth, gave him a sense of being alive.

There was also a lingering soreness in his spiritual domain, but that wasn’t a major concern. He could feel that his Tian Lu state was improving.

As he opened his eyes, Xiao Jingfeng’s face with those distinctive white horse ears imdiately enlarged in front of him. “Zhenyun! Zhenyun, are you awake? How do you feel?”

“…” The sharp horse ears that swung around confused Xiao Zhenyun’s vision, and it took him a while to rember this character. He smiled, tired yet gentle, and uttered the classic patient line, “Water…”

A slightly small hand imdiately presented a transparent plastic cup. Xiao Nian gazed at him expressionlessly and adjusted the soft straw in the cup, aiming it at Xiao Zhenyun’s parched lips. Xiao Jingfeng quickly said, “Zhenyun, this is the special personnel hospital in the capital of Haleite. You’ve been asleep for two days, luckily without any major issues. We captured two of the assassins who attacked the island and they claid they were just doing it for money, not knowing who their employer was. However, there are so leads we’re following up on.

Du Nai is currently missing, and the guild is conducting a thorough search. Rest assured, I will give you an explanation about the attack on the aircraft… By the way, we were able to catch up this ti thanks to your son’s clues. He made a great contribution.”

He rambled on with a lengthy string of words, making Xiao Zhenyun’s head spin. After taking a couple sips of warm water, he smiled faintly and sincerely said to Xiao Nian, “Thank you.”

Xiao Nian pursed his lips. “It’s what I should do.”

“…” Xiao Jingfeng didn’t quite understand the dynamics between these two foster father and son, but he didn’t say anything. At this mont, doctors and nurses who heard about Xiao Zhenyun’s awakening entered the room and bombarded him with questions. Xiao Zhenyun lay on the bed, bewildered, as a nurse pricked his finger with a device, drew a couple of tubes of blood from his arm, and hurriedly left.

In the midst of it all, he suddenly felt a twinge of pain in his shoulder. Lifting his collar, he found a partially scabbed yet intact toothmark—a souvenir from a recent encounter with a vicious dog.
