"Bastard… who are you?" Zaos asked with his eyes wide open and filled with hatred.
"Why don't you introduce yourself first?" The man who was supposed to be riton asked.
"I am the one who will cut your neck," Zaos said and then enhanced his sword until electricity appeared in it.
The pointy-eared man frowned when he saw Zaos's sword. A look of surprise appeared on his face when Zaos swung his swords and then made Thunder Blade fly toward the enemies. The creatures tried to defend themselves, but only their leader managed to block it. The others lost their arms and their heads.
"That sword… I will rember your face," The pointy-eared man said and then clapped its hands and then made a dark mist cover the whole place.
Zaos' felt the creature moving away from the room, but he couldn't pursue it without freeing Aleni first. Using his sword, he hit the electric barrier several tis until it disappeared. As expected, Guardian's Heart truly could drain mana. Aleni moaned in pain, but then she quickly got up… for soone with her training to be caught in that kind of trap was so embarrassing… even though she didn't have any pride in her previous job, she still stayed silent, feeling ashad.
"His followers who have weird presences are spreading… I will chase him," Zaos said. "anwhile, you get what we want from here and deal with the minions that will try to get on your way, all right?"
"… Yes," Aleni said.
"We will talk about this later," Zaos said. "Now move on and stop mopping."
Aleni nodded and then moved to the basent of the mansion. As for Zaos, he jumped from the window and headed toward the Northside of the city. Aleni didn't even try to take Milliendra from him because the sa of the failure of her attack and because she knew that she would be safer with Zaos, even while he pursued those unknown creatures.
The noise of the attack made so people wake up. Still, Zaos was confident that Aleni would succeed in obtaining the data regarding the researcher of magic weapons and magic tools. Right now, he had to focus on chasing the enemy. Although riton didn't have the body of soone who fought or had been trained, he was surprisingly fast. He also could run without making any noise, so it seed that he could be quite the fearso opponent at night. However, Zaos could use Mana Perception to avoid all unpleasant surprises.
While Zaos enhanced his legs with wind and earth magic, he still only caught the enemy when he jumped over the northern gate. So guards noticed that sothing was leaving the city, but they didn't have ti to react. The creature suddenly made two bat wings appear, and then by flapping it, they fired so dark objects toward the guards. Those pierced their throats easily, and the guards began to agonize on the ground.
"Asshole… trying to cause problems to ," Zaos muttered.
It wouldn't be hard for that guy to bla Zaos if he manages to escape. Even if he doesn't show himself, he could use its influence to bribe soone and then make them give a fake report. Even without that, he had many allies who would take his side. Zaos didn't have ti to jump over the walls, so he just fired an Earth Sword and destroyed the gate. After that, he enhanced his legs once more to increase his speed.
"Just hang in there a while longer, Millie," Zaos said.
It was already incredible that Milliendra didn't make any fuss until now. Still, there was only so much a toddler could handle. Zaos' steps got larger, and thanks to it, the speed increased as well, and he caught the weird creature before it could try to reach the forest in the north of the city and then disappear.

Zaos didn't want to admit it, but he was starting to think that creature was actually a demon… it didn't make any sense since there was no ntion of the demons aside from the demon god. However, there was no other explanation… not to ntion, it seed that riton secluded himself in his house around the sa ti Milliendra was born. So, everything made Zaos assu that at least so old friends of the demon god were reviving as well, but they were taking the body of humans.
After using Evil Eyes for a mont, Xergoron slowed down, and Zaos approached and tried to split him in half, but then his dark bat wings blocked Zaos's strike. At first, he didn't believe how sturdy it could be, but then Zaos saw a dark aura coming from them.
"Stop running away, and I will make it quick…" Zaos said after he jumped backward. "Of course, if you answer so of my questions and don't lie."
"Hehehe, what a fearso human," Xergoron said while smiling. "To think that in this day and age I would find soone like you, who has such an unorthodox style… Do you have any idea who that girl is?"
"None of your business, asshole," Zaos glared at him. "I told you, I am the one asking the questions here. Don't test my patience. I am really itching to cut you into pieces."
"Well then… I would like to see you try," Xergoron said and then flapped his wings toward Zaos.
Zaos moved to the side, but he made sure to take a good look at those dark projectiles. He could sense mana into them, but it didn't belong to any class of spell he had studied or heard until now… it was almost as if the projectiles were made of darkness or sothing. Still, Zaos could sense that they were heavy while they crossed the air.
Zaos suddenly noticed his vision getting dark… he knew what that was: illusion magic trying to take control over his mind. Even though he had leveled up that resistance so much, the power behind that one was leagues above if compared to that group of followers of the demon god…
