Cian shook his head.

"I’m not planning anything..."—Cian suddenly paused before retracting his statent—"I was planning sothing, but that was to form a peaceful relationship between my Church and the powers of your Continent. That’s why I was going around visiting the various Great Clans in the Academy, I was preoccupied with that so how could I focus on anything else?"—Cian’s eyes suddenly flashed as he said—" If there was anyone you should ask it’s Althorne."

Sol’s eyes flickered, while Yoon-Jae frowned and asked.

"Are you two at odds even after coming to the Eastern Continent?"

Cian suddenly released an amused chuckle and then explained.

"Althorne’s ambitions are lofty and there’s nothing he wouldn’t resort to, to fulfill that ambition. Anyone who stands in his way would beco his sworn enemy, and the biggest obstacle in his way is my Ga-On Church. Do you think we would cooperate under such circumstances?"

As if realizing sothing, Ushi spoke up.

"Why is your group from the Ga-On Church not with you, did you co here by yourself?"

Cian smiled bitterly as he nodded.

"Indeed, I ca here by myself."—Sighing he then added—"I am not liked within the Ga-On Church because I denounce my Church’s actions, so even though I am the envoy of my Ga-On Church, I wasn’t given any escorts, or rather they ca but chose to ignore ."

"Are they following Althorne instead?"

Sol asked and Cian nodded.

"He’s very persuasive, even though our Churches oppose each other he managed to get everyone who ca here from the Seven Great Churches on his side."

Mar-Dule snorted and spoke.

"He isn’t all that, didn’t Sol scare him so much he almost wet himself?"

Cian was taken aback by that, and he turned to look at Sol as he asked.

"Brother Sol, did you battle against Althorne?"

Sol nodded.

Seeing this Cian face turned serious as he warned.

"Brother Sol, I advise you to be more cautious of him going forward in the future."

Sol’s eyes flickered once more before he asked softly.

"Is he that strong?"

"Extrely, people will overlook his talents because of his origins and say I’m the number one genius among our Seven Great Churches, but even I am not confident of beating him in a battle. Within our Seven Great Churches, there is a selection process between the Worshipers known as Divine Selection. It’s where the next leader of a Church is chosen between several talented youths. In that selection, blood will always be shed leaving only a single survivor to inherit the Church."

"So that brat ca out on top?"

Mar-Dule asked causally, but Cian’s expression beca even more serious as he said.

"He didn’t just co out on top; it was the fastest a Divine Son had been chosen in the history of the Seven Great Churches."

Cian then raised one finger.

"He did it in a month?"

Yoon-Jae asked, but Cian shook his head and said.

"No, he did it within one hour after the successors were announced."—Cian then gained a sowhat hard-to-believe expression as he added—"You might not understand how shocking this feat is and the uproar it caused within the Churches. The successors who were chosen all had terrifying backgrounds with so even having connections to the Cardinal who governs all Seven Churches. But not just their backgrounds, they themselves had extraordinary talents that would make them a Generational Genius at any period within the Ga-Mon Church.

"However, they were all killed within an hour of being chosen as a successor. All their heads were severed in one clean strike. So of those successors were even within their own Families cultivating at the ti, with nurous guardians protecting them. And Althorne did all of this when he himself had no background to speak of. In fact, him being chosen as a successor was t with laughter and ridicule since he was considered an outcast due to the nature of his birth."

Cian then sighed and said.

"No one knows how he did it, so even speculated the Cardinal himself must have favored him to such an extent that he personally killed his competitors, but that is just one of the many unfounded rumors."

Throughout Cian’s story, Sol and the others only wore pensive expressions, but when they heard his last sentence, their expressions turned serious.

If that rumor was true and an existence like that acted for Althorne’s sake, then he wasn’t as simple as he seed.

Realizing their thoughts, Cian waved his hand dismissively as he assured.

"It really is just a rumor, the Cardinal has not made an appearance for several decades now, it’s inconceivable that he would make a move for soone like Althorne. However, that doesn’t make him any less dangerous. This story is almost a decade year old, and now Althorne’s known for hiding his true strength such that no one knows what he’s truly capable of. Everyone who might have known is probably already dead."

Mar-Dule suddenly realized sothing, and he frowned before asking.

"If this took place almost a decade ago, how old was that brat when it happened?"

"He was around eight or nine."

Mar-Dule’s pupils imdiately constricted when he heard that, and the others reacted the sa.

If Althorne was that old then forget about him killing those successors himself, he might have accomplished this through scheming and manipulation.

But if that was true, this would make him a more frightening opponent.

All the contempt Mar-Dule had for Althorne vanished in this instant and was replaced with caution. However, Mar-Dule’s mind suddenly trembled, and he wondered if his contempt towards Althorne had been intentionally fabricated to lower his guard.

Mar-Dule’s guard imdiately shot up to unprecedented heights. But he wasn’t the only one who realized this fact, Sol and the others had, and their guards went up as well.

Sol thanked Cian for his warning but then asked.

"If the Church is planning sothing by entering the Shadow Dinsion, then it’s likely due to the Inheritance."

At this ti, Byeong-Ho spoke up in refusal.

"They might not be planning anything major by choosing the Shadow Dinsion as the location for the first stage of the tournant."

Everyone turned to look at him as he continued calmly.

"I received news from my grandfather that the tournant is being used to decide who gets to enter the smaller Hundred Plants and Herbs dinsion."

Ushi suddenly frowned at that, but Yoon-Jae beat him to the question.

"Why would they do that?"

Byeong-Ho’s expression was still calm as he responded.

"Soone found the corpse of an Immortal Deity in a secret area of that smaller dinsion."

"What?!"

Mar-Dule blurted out in shock while his eyes went round. The others, including Cian, were similarly reeling from this shocking piece of news.
