This tea, or rather, this Divine dicine, was one of Sol’s experints. His Innate Dharma was able to bear Life Essence fruits after absorbing a sufficient amount of Wood Aether Energy, so he thought he would try with different energies.
After a few tries, he was able to convert so of his Holy Energy and the energy from his crescent moon Enigma into fruits. This tea was brewed using one of those Divine fruits.
As for the other elents, he didn’t even dare attempt to use them, his Innate Dharma accepted those two energies because it was a part of him, but it would reject the other five elents.
However, being successful in creating a few fruits from those energies didn’t excite him since after he ate them, they similarly had no effect on him like when he ate the Life Essence fruits.
’Though, I found out my Holy Energy is actually called Divine Energy. It makes sense now that I think about it.’
As Sol was thinking this, Cian was surprised by Sol’s claim that the Divine dicine didn’t affect him.
’That shouldn’t be the case, is he not a Descendant from that place? While us mortals wield Holy Energy, he’s wielding Divine Energy.’
Cian couldn’t wrap his head around this since he didn’t know how Sol acquired this Divine dicine.
Sol suddenly brought him out of his thoughts by asking.
"How much of what happened in our battle did you rember?"
Cian paused before saying truthfully.
"I rember everything"—but he then quickly added—"But rest assured Brother Sol, I won’t be divulging such things to anyone."
Sol remained silent for a mont before he asked again.
"Who are you? Are you a God’s Chosen?"
Cian nodded.
Sol’s face turned serious.
"Is it Keres?"
Cian shook his head before clarifying.
"Brother Sol, I am a God’s Chosen of Thanatos, the God of Death."
Sol furrowed his brows.
"There is more than one God that presides over death?"
"That’s right, there are Thanatos and Keres, and both are presided over by the Three Fates. The one that presides over the Three Fates is Mother Nyx, the Goddess of the Night. She is also the mother of all three beings."
Sol’s eyes flickered continuously when he heard that before he asked once again.
"Did the existence inside you reveal that to you?"
Surprisingly, Cian shook his head and replied.
"No, it was my Little Sister. She’s a God’s Chosen by one of the Three Fates."
When Cian ntioned his Little Sister, a warm smile unknowingly spread across his lips.
Sol was quite curious about that, but he chose to move on to what he truly wanted to know. His expression turned even more serious as he asked in a low tone.
"Is there a difference between the God you worship and the one the Seven Great Churches worship?"
Cian didn’t conceal anything and explained in detail.
"Thanatos is the God that oversees the souls of those that have died peacefully, while Keres oversees the souls that have died grueso deaths."
"So, is that why your Church carries out mass slaughter, as sacrifices to Keres?"
Sol’s black orbs which had tinges of red hues at the edges bore into Cian making his heart shudder a bit. But at the sa ti, he was rather confused at how Sol was referring to Keres.
After a mont Cian said.
"Brother Sol, what the Church did... what they are doing, is sothing that strays from what the Church was originally built for. Rather than worshipping Gods zealously, the Church was built to honor them and what they stand for. And those Gods weren’t just the Keres, but Thanatos as well as the Three Fates and Mother Nyx."
This ti, it was Sol’s turn to be confused by how Cian was referring to Keres. Suddenly, he realized sothing and was slightly surprised.
"Is Keres not a single entity?"
"So that’s the case!"
Cian said in realization. He then shook his head and explained.
"Brother Sol, Keres isn’t the ’Goddess’ of Death, they are the ’Goddesses’ of Death. From what my sister told , for every soul there is a Keres. They aren’t Lesser Divine existences, but at the sa ti a single one does not possess the authority or the qualifications for Mortals worship, and neither is it necessarily a requirent for them."
When Sol heard that he was shocked and utterly enraged.
"If that’s the case what the hell is your Church doing?! They’re massacring thousands of people for no reason?!"
The chair behind Sol was obliterated as he shot up from his seat. His eyes glowed with an ominous black light as he glared at Cian.
Sol almost couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His village was massacred for no reason? Perhaps he could have accepted it if the Church had truly been doing those atrocious things because of so higher power, but now he was hearing their wonton slaughter was all due to their vile overzealous nature.
Sol was so angry his mind started to buzz, and his blood began to boil. It took everything in him to rein in his cultivation because if he were to erupt this entire courtyard would be decimated.
"Brother Sol, I understand your anger, I really do."
Cian looked up at Sol. He wasn’t affected by Sol’s gaze because he knew Sol’s anger wasn’t directed at him.
"Sothing happened during the Great Calamity that corrupted the Church’s doctrine and made it stray from its original principles."
"Is this rely straying from their original principles? From what you’ve just said, they did a complete one-eighty and then backflip into insanity!"
Cian didn’t want to laugh at Sol’s words in this situation, but he couldn’t help a smile from appearing on his face as he said.
"I completely agree, it’s thanks to my sister that I didn’t descend onto that path."
Cian paused for a mont then said again.
"Keres are inherently malevolent due to their birth, but they can’t interfere with living beings. This Law is so strong that it influences soone who becos a God’s Chosen from a Keres."
"That’s..."
Sol wanted to say sothing but paused. His emotions were complicated when he thought back on what happened to Su Jin.
Sol had opened his Heavenly Samsara Formation so Abdu could hear everything.
Suddenly, a voice that sounded like the person was seething in anger echoed out in the courtyard.
"That’s completely dogshit!"
Cian was taken aback, but his eyes showed surprise as he saw a dark miasma-like energy start pouring out of the back of Sol’s hand.
"This is..."
Cian was shocked as he sensed that this was Death Energy.
’But why is it so terrifying?’
As Cian was questioning this, a pair of golden slit pupils appeared in the dark miasma and looked at him. This caused his expression to change to one of shock. However, after the Death Energy coalesced into Abdu’s cat appearance, Cian’s face suddenly drained of blood.
"You’re-"
Abdu was about to speak, but Cian nearly fell out of his chair as he scrambled to jump out of his seat and retreat from the table.
With an ashen face, he pointed a trembling finger at Abdu and yelled like a cat that just had its tail stepped on.
"Y-You’re a Nian Beast?!"
After yelling this, Cian then realized sothing else, and his eyes nearly popped out of his head.
"And one that has enough intelligence to speak..."
Cian words trailed off and he took several more steps back.
"Just... Just how long have you existed? No wonder your Death Energy was so frightening, it’s even close to the point of turning into Divine Energy?!"
Cold chills crawled up Cian’s spine and his scalp went numb. Suddenly, he had the urge to turn and flee from this place.
A creature like this actually achieved such a high Cultivation Realm, this was simply too terrifying!
