Chapter 68: Chapter 20: Awakening of the Divine Remains

Spirit Realm, within the Divine Remains.

"rciful... but also foolish."

Slowly opening her eyes, Yao Xin sighed softly.

As if sensing Yao Xin’s concealnt, the Evil Ghosts who were gnawing on the Divine Body nearby all turned their heads, their eyes filled with confusion and surprise.

To these Evil Ghosts, who had long since forgotten everything but had not completely lost themselves due to Bahe Ru’s benevolence, the current Yao Xin seed extraordinarily odd.

Driven by instinct, the closest Evil Ghost to Yao Xin launched the first attack.

"Howl!"

The green-faced, sharp-fanged Evil Ghost opened its mouth wide, leaping at the nearby Yao Xin like a hungry wolf.

Unfortunately, Yao Xin didn’t even move, a single glance rendered the attacker rigid in place.

——Exorcising Spirits and Enslaving Ghosts: Slave Ghost!

Yao Xin’s actions clearly enraged the surrounding Evil Ghosts.

With little wisdom to begin with, they no longer cared to think, unleashing furious roars and howls.

However, Yao Xin dared to reveal herself at this mont, not rely because she received the power of Exorcism from Li Hao.

"So why is it that you get all the spotlight?"

Without a sound, another Yao Xin appeared among the Evil Ghosts, using the sa ans to enslave the Evil Ghosts closest to her.

"Clearly, we’re all Yao Xin, yet you end up looking like the protagonist!"

Uncertain if complaining or teasing, the voice of a third Yao Xin ca from afar, thoroughly confusing these not-so-intellectual Evil Ghosts.

Following that ca the fourth, fifth, sixth...

Endless Yao Xin appeared within the Divine Remains, completely usurping the Evil Ghosts and becoming the rulers here.

All the Yao Xins appearing successively were the Primordial Spirits of Yao Xin’s true self.

However, perhaps due to a past experience of brief amnesia, these Yao Xins gained a whole new recognition of "self."

They are all Yao Xin, yet they are none of them Yao Xin.

Each Yao Xin present inherited a part of Bahe Ru’s mory, thus giving rise to personalities with various inclinations.

When these personalities and mories integrate completely, a New God nad "Unknown and Forgotten Beldam" is born.

It inherits Bahe Ru’s mories and abilities, becoming the true dominator of this shattered world.

............................................................

"Has it actually... succeeded?"

Outside, Hephaestus looked at the seemingly trembling Divine Remains, for the first ti doubting his understanding and judgnt.

The Primordial Spirits integrated into the Divine Remains, assimilated with the remnants of the Gods, actually managed to restore their mories as Ascenders.

This wasn’t the remnants of Gods resurrecting through Ascenders; it was the Ascenders successfully inheriting the rank of the Gods.

Such an instant ascension, even among All Heavens and Myriad Realms, is extrely rare.

After all, although an Ascender steps onto the Path to Divinity, they are still an imasurable distance from becoming a true God.

More than ninety-nine percent of Ascenders fall in the process of becoming a God.

Only a few fortunate ones truly transcend their dinsion, allowing their life to stand above the world.

Rumble...

As if confirming Hephaestus’s thoughts.

The "mountain" nearby began to crumble, visible rifts appeared in every corner of this world.

Then, Hephaestus witnessed that incomplete Divine Remains slowly rise, transforming back into the True God who once stood above all life.

Rumble...

Just by straightening its upper body, it soared into the clouds.

Vague clouds shrouded its graceful body, the seven-colored glow like raint making it blinding to gaze upon.

Even with Hephaestus’s vision, he couldn’t see the full form of this New God.

The only certainty is that the flaws on its body have beco the most striking feature of this New God—flaws are beauty.

——Exorcising Spirits and Enslaving Ghosts: Summon God!

.........................................................

As the Divine Remains resurrected, myriad beams of colored light appeared across the world.

Terrifying rifts appeared within the glow, reflecting scenes from another world.

These were scenes of Immortals leading Skeletons to battle Evil Ghosts, also evidence of the further rging and integration of two worlds.

When this rging and integration reached a critical point, a figure, standing arrogantly atop the Great Serpent, appeared in this soon-to-shatter world.

Without any words, Hephaestus imdiately recognized that was the true body of the Ascender.

"What a madman!"

Muttered a curse quietly, Hephaestus never imagined he would fall into such a predicant.

The resurrection of the Divine Remains does not signify the resolution of the crisis.

On the contrary, Hephaestus believed it was precisely because of the Ascender’s reckless act of awakening the Divine Remains that a greater crisis was imminent.

The steps toward world destruction will never stop for the birth of a New God.

Otherwise, from the mont Bahe Ru chose self-sacrifice, the world should have revived.

But in reality?

Bahe Ru’s series of actions rely delayed the world’s demise.

Now, without the suppression of the Divine Remains, the previously-stalled doomsday crisis has resud its natural trajectory.

And this ti, due to Yao Xin’s inaction, this broken world is bound to drag another world down into the [Fallen Area].

At least, past knowledge and experience have all told Hephaestus so.

"Ah, had I known, I wouldn’t have been so curious."

"I really didn’t expect I’d reach the [Fallen Area] before the Goddess..."

In despair, Hephaestus simply stopped struggling, turning to look again at those rifts in space-ti shrouded in glow.

"What a pity for that Ancient God who has just awakened, just one step away from returning to the [Ascension Area]."

An Ancient God resurrected from the [Fallen Area], what an explosive topic!

Yet he hadn’t even had the chance to discover the true identity of that Ancient God before the being was forced back into eternal rest due to this accident.

"Speaking of which, who exactly is that Ascender?"

"Why hasn’t the Ancient God behind her shown itself?"

Blinking in puzzlent, Hephaestus was evidently quite baffled.

If the Ancient God behind the Ascender had acted in ti, although it was still unclear whether it could completely resolve the cataclysm threatening both worlds.

At least it might have delayed the outbreak of this crisis a little longer, right?

"As Mother Goddess said, anyone returning from the [Fallen Area] is never normal."
