Now, he could hide and savor more of them slowly. Tong Xuelu finally closed the door after Wen Rugui had left. She walked inside the living room and saw all of her siblings standing by the cake. When they saw her, together, they all shouted, “Happy birthday, Big Sister!”Having said that, the three of them pulled out their gifts for her. Tong Jiaming and Tong Jiaxin got her a mirror together. Tong Mianmian gave her 19 pieces of candies; she had spent a long ti collecting them. Tong Xuelu looked at them, and she felt a warm feeling growing inside of her. “Thank you, all of you. I like your gifts a lot.”That put a happy smile on everyone’s faces. Tong Mianmian pitter-pattered over, put her little hands on Tong Xuelu’s cheeks, and gave her a few kisses. “Big Sister is Mianmian’s favorite!”The little bun’s big, limpid eyes twinkled, and there were folds on her fair and soft cheeks left from her earlier nap. “Mianmian is Big Sister’s favorite too.”Tong Jiaming, standing next to them, thought to himself: It wasn’t that hard to say “Big Sister” after all.Mid-autumn festival was the next day. Tong Xuelu had planned to bring so gifts over to the other Tong family, but it started to rain before daybreak. The rain beca heavier and heavier, making it impossible to leave the house. Thus, she had no choice but to give up on that idea. Although she couldn’t give gifts to the other Tong family, there was still the Wei family next door. With an umbrella in her hand, Tong Xuelu dropped off the mooncakes at the Wei’s, and they gave her a fish in return. Since it was raining, this Mid-autumn festival did not feel festive at all. Many were not able to go moon watching because of the rain. Old Mr. Wen, who was sitting on the couch and nibbling on a at mooncake, lanted. “How did it just start to rain so abruptly?”After receiving the mooncakes from Miss Young Grass, he was planning to have Wen Rugui bring sothing nice back to her.
