Chapter 283: Chapter 283: Newlywed Love

Miao Ruoruo was a bit surprised by the unexpected call, "You’re already here? Why didn’t you say anything in advance?"

"Caught a ride, didn’t want to bother you!" Ling Feng laughed.

"I’m still at ho. Where are you? I’ll drive over to pick you up right now!" Miao Ruoruo asked.

"No need, I’ll just take a taxi over, so as not to trouble you."

There was silence on Miao Ruoruo’s end for a mont, clearly thinking this wasn’t right, but Ling Feng continued, "We don’t need to stand on ceremony with each other. Just wait at ho!"

At these words, Miao Ruoruo felt a sweetness in her heart and humd softly in approval.

After hanging up the phone, Ling Feng was about to hail a cab when it occurred to him that he was going to visit the Miao Family and might et the senior Mr. Miao. It wouldn’t be appropriate to go empty-handed!

After all, the old man had been very good to him. If it wasn’t for his help in the provincial capital, he wouldn’t have beco Ruoruo’s boyfriend.

With this in mind, Ling Feng’s eyes darted around, and an idea imdiately sprang to mind!

Ten minutes later, he walked out of an alley by the roadside, holding a long object wrapped in a cloth bag in his hand.

After catching a ride and traveling for over twenty minutes, Ling Feng arrived at the Miao Family’s residence.

Miao Ruoruo was already waiting. Seeing him, she imdiately ca over, "Why did it take so long? Was it hard to get a cab?"

"No, just had a little errand to run."

Seeing the affectionate gaze she had for him, a surge of tenderness welled up in Ling Feng’s heart. Looking around and seeing no one, he leaned in, wanting to steal a kiss.

However, Ruoruo’s face flushed red, and she quickly stepped back, scolding, "Don’t, it wouldn’t be good if soone saw us!"

"There’s no one around!" Ling Feng chuckled.

"Still no, hurry up and co with . Grandfather is waiting for you!" said Ruoruo, and then she hurriedly walked towards the villa.

Ling Feng had no choice but to follow. Monts later, they arrived at Mr. Miao’s study.

The old man was seated composedly, savoring his tea. Seeing Ling Feng, he imdiately smiled, "You’re here? Have a seat!"

"How are you feeling, sir?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.

With a slight smile, the old man replied, "Thanks to you, still hanging in there."

Ling Feng stepped forward and placed the object on the table, "Knowing there’s nothing missing at ho, I brought this. Not sure if you would like it."

"You’re too polite, why bring anything at all..."

The old man hadn’t finished speaking when he saw Ling Feng pull a piece of wood from the bag, larger even than a grown man’s arm, and his eyes imdiately bulged in surprise!

"This, this is agarwood!"

If it weren’t for his weak legs and feet, he might have jumped up from his wheelchair!

Seeing the old man’s expression, Ling Feng felt a sense of pride, thinking that he indeed made the right choice!

After a mont of pride, he hurriedly said, "Yes, as long as sir likes it!"

Mr. Miao’s fingers trembled as he hesitated to touch it, asking with a shaky voice, "Such a large piece, must be at least ten pounds, right?"

"Uh, I didn’t weigh it, so I don’t know how heavy it is. If you like it, I can bring a few more pieces another day," Ling Feng said with a laugh.

Hearing that, the old man was completely taken aback and stood there with his mouth agape, unable to speak.

Seeing this, Ruoruo hurried forward and helped him sit back down, "Grandfather, don’t get excited, take care of your health!"

After saying this, she looked up and glared at Ling Feng.

Ling Feng was at a loss, thinking to himself, is it my fault, does this thing really warrant such excitent?

After taking a deep breath, the old man shook his head with a bitter smile and said, "This one piece is enough to last

decades. I’m afraid I won’t even use it all before I die, what would I do with so much more!"

Looking up at Ling Feng, he said, "You young man, always generous with your gestures, I’ll accept this gift!"

"If you like it, that’s all that matters!" Ling Feng said with a smile.

Old Master Miao glanced at him, "If I were to ask where this ca from, would you not be allowed to tell ?"

"Uh, indeed, I really can’t say," Ling Feng acknowledged with an embarrassed nod.

"Fine, I won’t ask. You youngsters haven’t seen each other in days; you must have a lot to talk about. Go upstairs!" The old man said with a ruddy face, waving his hand.

Seeing his expression, Ling Feng thought to himself, this isn’t about giving

and Ruoruo a chance to be alone together, it’s clearly because you want to examine this piece of wood more closely!

Knowing the truth but unable to admit it, he nodded, glanced at Miao Ruoruo, whose cheeks were flushed, and turned to walk toward the door.

Once out of the study, Miao Ruoruo spoke in a low voice, "You really have a way, how did you know my grandpa likes spices?"

"I didn’t know, I just happened to have this and heard it was quite valuable, so I brought it over," Ling Feng replied with a shrug.

"Oh, consider yourself lucky then!" Miao Ruoruo said with a pursed lip.

"The old man has agreed, so shall we go upstairs?" Ling Feng looked around to make sure no one was nearby, leaned in close to her ear, and whispered the question.

Miao Ruoruo’s ears turned red, and she quickly shook her head, "No, there’s still stuff to do later, what do you think you’re doing in broad daylight?"

"What could be more urgent than my matters? I missed you!"

Ling Feng chuckled softly, wrapped an arm around Miao Ruoruo’s waist, and started walking towards the stairs.

Even though she felt shy and feared being seen by her family, Miao Ruoruo’s body had already lted.

Ever since that night, they hadn’t had the chance to be alone together. It was just like being newlyweds—how could she not miss him?

After a weak resistance, seeing she couldn’t struggle free, she just gave in and let Ling Feng half drag, half carry her upstairs to the room.

As soon as the door closed, and before Ling Feng could make a move, Miao Ruoruo went straight in and kissed him!

Passion ignited like a thunderbolt sparking a wildfire, as they kissed each other fiercely, completely forgetting the rest of the world, their hearts full of only each other!

After the kiss, Miao Ruoruo, with a dazed gaze, blurted out as Ling Feng frantically fumbled with her buttons, "In the afternoon, there’s still... stuff to do..."

Ling Feng’s eyes were red, not listening to her at all, as he pushed her down onto the bed!

...

...

The room returned to tranquility as the two young lovers lay together with satisfied smiles.

With an arm around Miao Ruoruo’s fragrant shoulder, Ling Feng looked at the sky outside and then asked, "Is everything ready at the greenhouse?"

"Mhm."

Miao Ruoruo’s voice was languid, not wanting to utter an extra word.

"Call them and have them start bagging. Don’t worry about the mushroom strains; there’s still ti!" Ling Feng said.

"Okay."

Miao Ruoruo obediently responded like a little cat, her earlier concerns about production now forgotten.

However, after lying down for another half hour, she turned to check the ti and looked up to say, "We should get up now; Lanlan will be back soon, and it wouldn’t be good if she saw us."

Ling Feng was surprised, "Right, I didn’t see her. Where did that girl go off to?"

"The business deal our three families are cooperating on. Grandpa saw that I was too busy and handed it over to her," Miao Ruoruo explained.

"Oh, I’ve never asked, what kind of business requires the cooperation of three families?" Ling Feng asked curiously.

"Building a hydropower station."

Hearing this, Ling Feng lost interest imdiately; it was not related to the industry he was involved in.

So he chuckled, patted Miao Ruoruo’s smooth shoulder, and said, "Then let’s get up. Tonight, we’ll continue..."
