Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Physical Cooling
Ling Feng inadvertently took a bit of advantage, chuckled heh heh and didn’t say much, and gave the child a kiss.
Then he said to Li Yui, "Don’t just stand there, put the money away safe, and if you run out, co ask
for more."
Li Yui pursed her lips, turned around, and tucked the money into the cabinet.
After stowing the money away, Li Yui turned back and said, "Ling Feng, thank you for everything you’ve done for
and the child. Why don’t you stay for dinner at my place today?"
"No, I have to go see the Village Chief later to discuss so things," Ling Feng replied as he handed the child back.
Li Yui was curious, "Brother, what are you going to discuss with the Village Chief?"
"A matter of making money. I’ll tell you about it after it’s settled. Then, you can co help , and I’ll pay you a salary!" Ling Feng said with a slight smile, deliberately being mysterious and then walked out the door.
Li Yui carried the child to the door and watched him ride away on his tricycle until he was out of sight before she returned to the house with a heavy heart.
Looking at the child in her arms who was just starting to babble, she couldn’t help saying, "Girl, when you grow up, you mustn’t forget the kindness Uncle Ling has shown us!"
The little girl with big eyes was full of confusion and had no idea what her mother was talking about. She just giggled and showed off two little teeth.
Ling Feng rushed to the village committee office. Li Yui had transford after eating snake at, and now he really wanted to know if the Village Chief had experienced any changes!
At the doorstep, he knocked and called out, "Village Chief, Shiyun, are you there?"
There was no response from inside, but the door was unlocked, indicating that Li Shiyun hadn’t gone out. Ling Feng found this odd and knocked on the door again.
Still no response inside, so he couldn’t help but say, "Are you there or not? I’m coming in, okay?"
As he spoke, he gently pushed the door open and stepped inside...
It was his first ti entering Li Shiyun’s residence; upon entering, the room was filled with a faint fragrance.
Because the curtains were drawn, the room was quite dark. Once his eyes adjusted to the environnt, Ling Feng saw soone lying on the bed under a blanket, apparently asleep.
Ling Feng thought it strange; who sleeps during the middle of the day?
It was only noon, and he already knew what had happened with Li Yui taking a bath. Now what was this situation with Li Shiyun sleeping?
Stepping forward, Ling Feng saw Li Shiyun’s face and was stunned for a mont.
The beautiful Village Chief had her eyes tightly closed, her face flushed and forehead dotted with fine beads of sweat, which made him realize she might be ill.
He quickly touched her forehead and found it was indeed very hot. Ling Feng couldn’t care less about propriety and began patting her cheeks, "Shiyun, wake up!"
Li Shiyun’s eyelids fluttered but she remained in a deep sleep, not waking up at all.
Ling Feng frowned, realizing her fever was severe, and any delay could lead to acute myocarditis or other complications, so he quickly uncovered the blanket, ready to help cool her down.
But when he lifted the blanket, he saw that Li Shiyun was only in her underwear!
He turned around to find two towels, soaked them in water, and started wiping down her body.
Clearly, there was no alcohol or wine in this place, so he had to resort to the simplest thod of physical cooling—water.
"Shiyun, have you woken up?" Ling Feng asked as he proceeded.
However, Li Shiyun only moved slightly, her eyelids still not opening.
Suppressing a strong impulse, Ling Feng continued to wipe down her body without taking advantage of the situation anymore.
After a while, Li Shiyun’s skin started to feel cool, and her face was no longer as red. Only then did Ling Feng stop his actions.
Thinking it over, he covered Li Shiyun with the blanket again and left the room.
On his way out, to prevent others from entering, he deliberately locked the door and then hurried back ho.
The elixirs recorded in the Classic of the Divine Farr were primitive, but they included types to reduce fever and inflammation, so he returned to make dicine.
After gathering the necessary ingredients, Ling Feng soon produced a dicinal Pill and hurried back to the village committee office.
Entering the room and seeing Li Shiyun still asleep, he lifted her and forced her mouth open to place the dicinal Pill inside, then poured a couple of sips of water down her throat.
After a while, the dicine began to take effect, and the blush on Li Shiyun’s face finally faded.
At the sa ti, she slowly opened her eyes, and her gaze t Ling Feng’s.
Li Shiyun was startled to find herself in Ling Feng’s arms and struggled a little!
Although the movent was slight, Ling Feng felt a strong force hit his chest, sending him falling backward, with Li Shiyun tumbling down on top of him!
Li Shiyun, lying completely on Ling Feng, felt the contact between their bodies and her mind went blank!
