Chapter 2201: Chapter 2200: Didn’t Find Him

Shinozuka Haruko leaned over for a look, then said, "This place looks like a farm. That taller building in the back is a barn!"

"Oh."

Ling Feng nodded and pointed at the two people in the photo. "This picture is at least thirty or forty years old. The little boy up here should be Martin, right?"

"Should be. If it were soone else, he wouldn’t bother keeping it so carefully and putting it here!"

Shinozuka Haruko nodded, then added, "This is him when he was a kid, so this old man is probably his grandpa or sothing."

"Mhm."

Ling Feng studied the surroundings in the picture, then spread out his Divine Sense. Using Martin’s ho as the center, he instantly scanned everything within a fifty??kiloter radius.

But unfortunately, he didn’t see any place nearby with the sa environnt as in the photo.

As for Martin Preece’s whereabouts, he found nothing at all.

Helpless, Ling Feng sat down on the sofa, then patted the empty spot beside him. "Sit for now. We’ll wait a bit. If he doesn’t co back tonight, we’ll have to think of sothing else."

"Okay."

Shinozuka Haruko nodded and sat down next to him.

The two of them sat there without talking, watching as the sun slowly dipped west and the sky grew dark.

Nobody knew how long it had been when Shinozuka Haruko’s body tilted and she leaned against Ling Feng’s shoulder.

The two of them weren’t so shy, inexperienced teenagers. There was nothing to be embarrassed about, so Ling Feng naturally wrapped his arm around her.

Snuggled up together, the wait didn’t feel so boring anymore.

Ti ticked by bit by bit. Soon the sun sank below the horizon, and night fell over the city.

Ling Feng’s Divine Sense stayed locked on a ten??kiloter radius the whole ti. The mont Martin Preece appeared, he would notice imdiately.

So after sitting there holding each other for so long, he felt they couldn’t just keep sitting around. He turned his head to look at Shinozuka Haruko. "It’s kind of pointless for us to sit here like idiots waiting. Why don’t we find sothing to do?"

"What do you want to do?"

Shinozuka Haruko glanced up at him, asking quietly.

Seeing her cheeks flushed, as if she’d misunderstood him, Ling Feng chuckled and said, "I was thinking of making sothing to eat. What do you want?"

"Oh, anything is fine. I’m actually not that hungry." Shinozuka Haruko stuck out her tongue as she spoke.

She rarely showed that kind of girlish side. Ling Feng found it amusing and pinched her nose. "Fill up first, then we can do what you were just thinking about."

"You’re awful."

Shinozuka Haruko’s face turned even redder, and she shot him a glare.

Ling Feng grinned, got up, and went to the kitchen. He opened the fridge for a look—and imdiately frowned.

Only then did he realize there was basically nothing in the fridge.

"What’s wrong?"

Shinozuka Haruko ca over and asked.

"We might have been waiting for nothing. This Martin Preece hasn’t been living here for a while."

Ling Feng pointed at the fridge. "Look, if he’d been staying here all along, there’s no way his fridge would be empty. There’d definitely be food in it."

"Yeah, this really doesn’t look like a place soone’s living in long??term."

Shinozuka Haruko nodded, then asked, "So what do we do?"

"He hasn’t been here for so ti, and he’s not within the surrounding area. Looks like we have to go over the clues again from the beginning."

Ling Feng frowned. After thinking for a mont, he walked back to the living room and picked up the photo again for another look.

Then he checked the ti. It was only about two in the morning on Lingyun Island. Figuring Ah Min had just gone to bed, Ling Feng decided not to disturb her.

Turning back, he said to Shinozuka Haruko, "Let’s wait until a bit later to contact Ah Min. We’re basically free tonight."

"Okay."

Shinozuka Haruko didn’t say anything else, just lowered her head.

Seeing that, Ling Feng stepped forward and pulled her into his arms.

He had just lowered his head to kiss her when Shinozuka Haruko raised her face and pressed a finger to his lips. "Don’t. This is that guy’s place. I don’t want to do it in soone else’s ho."

"Then what do we do?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.

"Let’s go into the barrier."

Shinozuka Haruko said, and a flash of light slipped across her hand as she imdiately created a special barrier.

The two of them were now in another space. Just like before, Shinozuka Haruko first conjured a big wooden tub.

Seeing that she was going to take a bath, Ling Feng’s interest was piqued at once. "This tub is so big, it can fit both of us."

Shinozuka Haruko of course knew what he ant. Her face went red, but she didn’t say anything, clearly acquiescing to Ling Feng’s idea.

Then, watching Ling Feng undress and get into the big wooden tub first, she turned around with her back to him and slowly undid her sash.

After that, with shy, delicate movents, head slightly lowered and teeth lightly biting her lip, Shinozuka Haruko lifted her leg and stepped into the tub.

The sound of splashing water rose up, mingling with soft gasps as their bodies tangled together.

...

...

The night passed. Once daylight fully broke, the barrier dissolved, and Ling Feng and Shinozuka Haruko reappeared in Martin Preece’s ho.

Just like last night, there were no signs that anyone had co back.

Ling Feng’s earlier guess was right. Not just last night—this guy clearly hadn’t been back for quite so ti.

More likely, ever since he’d appeared at the Pantheon Hall, he hadn’t stayed here again.

Checking the ti, Ling Feng took out his phone and called Ah Min.

The mont the call connected, Ah Min asked, "So, boss? All done over there?"

"No. It’s nothing like what you and I thought. We didn’t find Martin."

Ling Feng gave a wry smile and explained what had happened on his side.

Ah Min was a bit stunned, and imdiately asked, "Then why didn’t you tell

sooner? With no news from you, I thought everything was going smoothly!"

"I didn’t want to disturb your rest."

Ling Feng chuckled, then said, "It’s not urgent anyway. You helping

check once you wake up is the sa thing."

"Boss, at this point it doesn’t really matter whether I sleep or not. I’ve got more than enough stamina; you don’t have to worry about that."

Ah Min said helplessly, then continued, "I’ll start checking right now. I’ll have sothing for you in an hour at most."

"Okay. I’ll send you an old photo in a bit. See if you can figure anything out from it."

"Got it."

Ah Min said, and hung up.

Ling Feng scanned the photo and used the satellite phone to Teleport it to Lingyun Island.

Half an hour later, his phone rang. It was Ah Min calling back.

Once the call connected, Ling Feng asked, "How is it?"

"I contacted the school where Martin works and found out he took extended leave. He hasn’t been to work for a month."

Ah Min said, then added with a wry smile, "That one’s on . If I’d checked this sooner, you wouldn’t have had to waste a whole night there."

"It wasn’t wasted. Last night was very enjoyable."

Ling Feng smiled, then asked, "Since he hasn’t been working, he must have gone to another city. Did you find any other clues?"

"I did. From that black??and??white photo you sent, I analyzed the environnt and pinpointed the location—and I found out where it is and who it belongs to," Ah Min said.
