Chapter 2091: Chapter 2090: Above the Icefield

In the end, it was Yao who assisted, erecting a transparent shield on Ghost Dragon’s back, blocking the howling cold wind.

The wind was blocked, naturally alleviating much of the cold.

While setting up the tent, Ling Feng took out so warm clothing, then said to Yao, "You go inside the tent, I’ll stay outside."

"Sure!"

Yao, without hesitation, nodded and crawled into the tent.

The equipnt in her hands was used for mapping; Ghost Dragon’s flight path and the terrain below were continuously recorded. If this were a planet, after a loop of flight, there would be a rough holographic map.

Once she was in the tent, Ling Feng continued scanning the environnt below with his Divine Sense, discovering they had already entered the ice field.

Eternal absence of sunlight, extrely low temperatures, all that could be seen below was massive ice sheets, thickness unknown, what lies beneath remains a mystery.

But during Ghost Dragon’s flight, Ling Feng suddenly noticed strange phenona appearing on the ice field!

Initially spotting those tall protrusions, Ling Feng attributed them to unique terrain formations, but as they flew further, more of such formations appeared, sothing felt off!

These tall protrusions resembled stalagmites erging from the ice field, towering at least ten ters high!

Realizing sothing was amiss, Ling Feng instructed Ghost Dragon to slow down, preparing to land and investigate.

Just then, a flash beneath the ice field caught his Divine Sense!

Divine Sense never falters, Ling Feng imdiately commanded Ghost Dragon to land!

Feeling the descent, Yao peeked out from the tent: "What’s going on?"

"There’s a lot of protrusions on the ice field, and I just spotted a flash, so I want to go down and check it out!" Ling Feng said.

"Flash in such a place?"

Yao was also startled, then said, "Could it be that the Predators are here?"

"Can’t rule out that possibility, let’s go down and see."

Ling Feng said, and Ghost Dragon was already descending to within a few hundred ters of the ground.

Soon, once within ten ters, Ling Feng and Yao leapt down onto the ice field.

As a result, instantly, both shook in cold shivers!

This place was indeed frigid, with temperatures at least minus fifty or sixty degrees Celsius!

Fortunately, both were not ordinary humans, otherwise, they would quickly suffer frostbite.

Footing was solid on the ice field, Ling Feng scanned with his Divine Sense, discovering beneath the ters-thick ice layer, there was actually an ocean!

Moreover, the waters below contained various lifeforms.

Upon ntioning this, Yao quickly said, "There’s nothing surprising about that; the thick ice layer isolates heat loss, the water temperature below should be decent."

Ling Feng nodded, "That being said, the light I saw earlier might have been emitted by so creature!"

"It’s possible!"

Yao said, then pointed to the distance, "Is that the protrusion you ntioned?"

Despite the darkness here, not a hint of light to be seen, both had their ans to perceive the surroundings.

Ling Feng nodded, "That’s the thing, and its distribution is quite regular, as if there’s one every so often!"

"Then let’s go take a look."

Yao finished speaking and stepped forward.

The two arrived at the side of the protrusion, one after another, witnessing sothing astonishing.

It was a giant column with a circumference exceeding two ters, towering over fifteen ters high, standing beneath it felt imnse.

Strangely, this object was also solid ice, as if it directly burst forth from the ice field.

Both Ling Feng and Yao were puzzled, neither knew what this thing was for.

"Doesn’t seem naturally ford!"

Ling Feng remarked, directly taking out Kai Tian.

Seeing this, Yao imdiately asked, "What are you planning to do?"

"Cut it down!"

Ling Feng chuckled, "If this object is useful, then once destroyed, soone will co to inspect and repair it?"

"Well, that’s one way!"

Yao nodded, then said, "Let’s go with your idea then!"

"Alright!"

Ling Feng smiled, raised Kai Tian and swung it!

"Boom!"

The massive ice column emitted a crisp sound but wasn’t cut down; instead, it began to make cracking sounds, spider-web-like cracks appeared through its structure!

Then, with a crash, the giant ice column shattered into countless ice pieces!

Ling Feng’s Divine Sense detected nothing inside, nor did he approach to check, instead said to Yao, "Let’s step back and wait a bit!"

"Okay!"

Yao nodded, rubbing her hands together.

Seeing this, Ling Feng quickly retrieved another down jacket from the Space Bracelet, draping it over her.

The two then left, walking several hundred ters before stopping.

"We’ll wait at most half an hour; if there’s no movent, we’ll continue on our way!" Ling Feng told Yao.

Yao said nothing, just nodded: "Alright."

During the wait, Ling Feng’s Divine Sense kept scanning the surrounding environnt, also monitoring the activity beneath the ice layer.

Ti passed slowly, more than twenty minutes went by, without any suspicious signs.

Just as Ling Feng’s patience was waning, his Divine Sense suddenly found a colossal object erging from the water beneath the ice layer!

It was a spindle-shaped structure, looking large enough to match submarines on Earth.

Yao also used her abilities to discover this object, her spirit suddenly heightened: "Unexpectedly, there really are intelligent life forms underwater!"

"Could it be those Predators?"

Ling Feng squinted his eyes, then said, "If it’s them, these guys are truly cunning, hiding here!"

"Perhaps this is their lair!"

Ling Feng noticed the spindle-shaped entity passing beneath the ice field below him, then arriving beneath the shattered ice column.

Imdiately, a strange scene unfolded.

The enormous entity slowly rose, its top approaching the bottom of the ice layer, then stopped.

Then, Ling Feng watched as a new ice column slowly erged from the ice field!

"So that’s how they create them!"

Ling Feng thought, then muttered aloud, "What is this thing, an antenna?"

Yao couldn’t answer his question, she also didn’t know its purpose.

But Yao quickly reminded him, "If you intend to locate their lair, you should prepare for tracking now!"

"Yes, understood!"

Ling Feng nodded, then said, "As long as they don’t descend into depths beyond thirty kiloters underwater, they won’t escape!"
