Chapter 1721: Chapter 1720: Underwater
Three days later, a global event occurred where underground monsters attacked humans.
Because Huaxia was prepared in advance, they anticipated the locations where the monsters would appear. Those creatures were eliminated as soon as they erged from underground, without causing any damage.
In Arica, however, the situation was different. Due to inadequate defenses, a large number of monsters poured out from underground, resulting in many towns being attacked, countless people evacuating and becoming displaced, and a small number of casualties.
As for other countries, the situations varied. Several of the world’s superpowers had taken precautions, so there were not many casualties, and they quickly eliminated the creatures.
However, in so smaller countries, like those in Southeast Asia and Africa, the monsters caused a high number of casualties. Without assistance from other countries, those monsters might have ravaged the local areas for so ti.
This event, overall, brought enormous losses to the world and caused significant disturbances. At the sa ti, the whole world witnessed Huaxia’s swift and highly efficient response to the attack, which, when compared to other countries, created a remarkable effect.
Even though so dia turned a blind eye, many people still learned about the responses and outcos to the attack in various places through the internet.
As the situation unfolded, Huaxia’s status in the hearts of people around the world rose sharply!
Ling Feng was not very inford about the outside events, occasionally contacting his family via satellite phone to hear so minor details.
As long as his family was safe and the nation was secure, he had nothing to worry about.
During these days, Ling Feng and Catherine were in the deep mountains of the northwest part of Arica, searching for the whereabouts of the Crystal Skulls.
Earlier, they received information about the locations of three skulls from Pet’téo, but when Ling Feng arrived and searched, he discovered that the first two had already been taken by soone else and were no longer there.
Now Ling Feng and Catherine were heading to the third location. If nothing was found there, Ling Feng planned to leave Arica and return to Huaxia.
The two spent a few days living in the mountains, during which ti the bond between Ling Feng and Catherine grew significantly, like a honeymoon for a newlywed couple, enjoying a wonderful ti together.
Walking in the valley, Catherine clung to Ling Feng’s arm, chattering happily like a joyful little girl.
Ling Feng did not feel much disappointnt about losing the two Crystal Skulls, treating it as a treasure hunt where he simply did not find any treasure, so there was no real loss.
Ahead was the valley’s exit, leading out of the mountains and into the Great Lakes at the border between Arica and Canada.
Seeing a stretch of blue lake water in the distance, Catherine cheered and ran forward eagerly.
Ling Feng followed, looking at the vast lake surface, you might think you’ve reached the seaside, facing a boundless ocean.
The last Crystal Skull was underwater, which made the search more challenging, so he had scheduled it as the final task.
Standing at the lakeside for a mont, Ling Feng said to Catherine, "I’ll go underwater soon. Wait for
on the shore, don’t worry, I’ll be back quickly."
"Okay, don’t worry, I will be fine too!" Catherine replied.
Ling Feng nodded, his Divine Sense instantly expanding, scanning the surrounding environnt.
This place was very remote, rarely visited, so there was no real danger here.
Soon, Ling Feng changed into diving gear and plunged into the lake.
It’s worth noting that Arica and Canada have done an excellent job in environntal protection here; the water was incredibly clear, with many types of fish swimming freely, very at ease.
Ling Feng swam a distance underwater, and as the depth increased, the visibility below started to decrease significantly.
However, after testing, he found his Divine Sense could cover a few hundred ters around him, so Ling Feng was not worried about being unable to see anything in the unlit parts underwater.
With Catherine waiting, he didn’t waste ti and went directly to the deepest part of the lake, quickly reaching the vicinity of their destination.
This area was several kiloters away from the shore, with a depth exceeding a hundred ters, which was too stressful for ordinary people to endure.
Even with Ling Feng’s extraordinarily strong physique, he could still feel the imnse pressure. Staying too long was unbearable, so he had to speed up.
In front, a protrusion appeared, which Ling Feng recognized as an underwater structure, having seen it in Pet’téo’s mind, so he quickly swam over.
The prior information they got was a satellite image, obtained through remote sensing asurents. Now, seeing the actual structure, Ling Feng was montarily stunned.
This turned out to be an underwater Pyramid!
Although it couldn’t compare with the Aztec ruins’ Pyramids he had seen before, this tower was over twenty ters high, made entirely of black stone, and building such a massive Pyramid so deep underwater was already remarkable!
Ling Feng didn’t bother thinking about who built it; his primary goal was to find the Crystal Skull, so he quickly swam to the top and started descending the tower, searching for an entry passage into the Pyramid.
But just then, a light suddenly flashed above, and when Ling Feng looked up, he unexpectedly found a figure appearing in the lake water above!
The person held a flashlight, scanning around and gradually moving deeper into the water!
Curious, Ling Feng knew it wasn’t Catherine, so after a mont’s thought, he imdiately swam downward, then went around to the other side of the tower.
With his Divine Sense, he could see the person. However, because the individual was wearing a diving suit and a breathing mask, Ling Feng couldn’t see his face clearly.
From appearance alone, just a man could be inferred; nothing else was clear.
Feeling curious but staying still, Ling Feng hid in the dark.
He knew this person was surely after the Crystal Skull too, but didn’t expect their encounter here—it was such a coincidence!
Ling Feng didn’t rush to act, intending to see if this person knew the entrance location. If the person found it and entered first, Ling Feng could cleverly follow and save a lot of ti and effort!
Soon, the man, equipped with a breathing mask and dragging a long breathing tube, dived down and found the Pyramid’s location.
At the Pyramid’s top, without noticing the hidden Ling Feng, the man quickly took sothing from his waist and inserted it into the crack at the top.
Watching from hiding, Ling Feng was secretly amazed because he saw the Pyramid’s top start to open!
As the opening expanded, the man directly entered through the top!
Seeing this, Ling Feng imdiately swam upward quickly!
