Chapter 1171: Chapter 1171: The Old Ghost Invites
Ling Feng nodded: "This morning, I talked to an elder about this matter. We all felt the sa way!"
"Oh? Which elder?" Pu Fuwan asked curiously.
"Master Gui," Ling Feng said.
"Huh?"
Upon hearing those two words, Pu Fuwan froze!
Among those present, anyone who understood Ling Feng’s words also stiffened.
"Brother, what’s your relationship with Master Gui?" Pu Fuwan asked hurriedly.
"Well..."
Ling Feng hesitated for a mont. His connection to Master Gui was through the Security Bureau, but of course, he couldn’t reveal that.
After so quick thinking, he smiled and replied: "Master Gui is my elder. We share so connections."
Everyone understood upon hearing that, and Pu Fuwan nodded in realization: "I see!"
Then he laughed and added: "Since that’s the case, we’re practically family!"
"Oh?"
Ling Feng looked a bit puzzled, glancing at him as he asked: "Brother Pu, do you have ties with Master Gui too?"
"Haha, ties? That’s putting it mildly!"
Pu Fuwan laughed heartily, then said: "Master Gui is my savior. If not for him back then, I wouldn’t be where I am today!"
"I didn’t know that!"
Ling Feng was sowhat surprised, while secretly thinking to himself that if this were true, then Pu Fuwan could really be counted as one of them.
Still, he found it odd—if Master Gui had such a connection with him, why hadn’t the old man ntioned it earlier this morning?
Of course, this was not sothing to ask now. Ling Feng chuckled and said: "Considering such a relationship, I’ll definitely stay closer to you, Brother Pu, moving forward!"
"Absolutely, you must!"
Pu Fuwan was elated, lighting up a cigar: "As for Han Chang, brother, don’t worry—no matter what shady tricks that kid is plotting, with
and Master Gui around, he won’t get away with it!"
"I’ll count on that!" Ling Feng said with a smile.
The lunch gathering was filled with joy and satisfaction. As the host, Pu Fuwan went out of his way to be hospitable, and the atmosphere at the table was lively, making Ling Feng feel his warmth and sincerity.
Later on, Ling Feng also beca familiar with a few other guests, discovering that the white, chubby man’s na was Phil—a renowned gambler in Arica.
As for Phil’s behavior the previous night, Ling Feng learned it wasn’t ant as an intentional provocation; it was simply the man’s personality.
After finishing lunch, Pu Fuwan firmly suggested taking Ling Feng to another casino for fun, but Ling Feng politely refused.
He had absolutely no interest in gambling—it was always just about making money for him.
Seeing Ling Feng’s reluctance, Pu Fuwan didn’t insist. After all, Ling Feng had two stunningly beautiful won accompanying him!
If he were in Ling Feng’s position, he’d definitely be too busy enjoying their company to waste ti gambling!
Ling Feng parted ways with Pu Fuwan and the others, heading downstairs with the two won to prepare for their ride back.
Just as they arrived at the parking lot, they saw soone standing beside the car—it was Little Dao.
Seeing Ling Feng coming down, he quickly ran over: "Brother Feng, did you just finish lunch?"
"Yeah, what are you doing here?" Ling Feng asked.
"Well, I was worried sothing might happen, so I brought so people to keep an eye on things."
Little Dao chuckled, then added: "And Master Gui also instructed
to wait for you—to invite you over for tea after lunch!"
"Oh, got it!"
Ling Feng nodded and told Pu Fuwan’s assistant: "Take the two ladies back first. I won’t be riding in your car."
"Understood, Mr. Ling!"
The assistant had now co to regard Ling Feng as a figure of great importance, nodding quickly without hesitation.
Ling Feng didn’t say much to Yu Linglong and Ling Long. Once the two won got in the car and left, Ling Feng joined Little Dao in his vehicle.
As the car started and drove off, Ling Feng asked: "Dao, does Master Gui have a clear schedule this afternoon?"
"He did originally, but plans suddenly changed. Oh, and Brother Feng, just call
Little Dao from now on—please don’t call
’Brother Dao’ anymore!" Little Dao said.
Ling Feng chuckled: "It’s all good; we’re one of a kind, after all!"
The car left the restaurant and drove southwards, arriving quickly at the seaside.
High on a cliff dozens of ters above the coast stood a fortress-like building, commanding Ling Feng’s attention.
Seeing the structure, Ling Feng squinted, quietly marveling to himself: "What a pri location!"
The tall, white building stood out strikingly even from afar. For soone to construct such a residence here, Master Gui’s power and influence on Ao Island were evident.
The car pulled into the parking lot beneath the mansion, and Little Dao turned to Ling Feng: "Brother Feng, I won’t accompany you inside—the butler is already waiting for you!"
"Alright, thanks, Dao!"
Ling Feng nodded and stepped out of the car, walking toward the entrance, where he soon noticed a woman in a sleek black suit approaching quickly.
The woman had red lips, pearly teeth, fair skin, and a ponytail—a youthful appearance far removed from the typical image of a butler.
Despite her looks, she approached and gave Ling Feng a slight nod: "Welco, Mr. Ling. Please follow !"
"Alright!"
Ling Feng thought to himself—was she really the butler? This young lady looked no older than twenty. Could it be that Master Gui preferred having young girls manage his household?
Upon entering the first floor, a man in a tailcoat hurried over: "Miss, why are you greeting the guest on my behalf?"
"Just happened to cross paths,"
The girl replied without hesitation, turning to Ling Feng: "Mr. Ling, this way, please!"
"Alright!"
Ling Feng realized then that the girl wasn’t the butler—perhaps she was so relation of Master Gui.
The two walked a short distance before stopping at a high wooden door. The girl promptly called out sweetly: "Grandpa, the guest has arrived!"
"Co in!"
Master Gui’s deep voice sounded from inside.
The young woman pushed the door open and gestured to Ling Feng to enter. Both stepped inside.
The room was an expansive study, with walls covered entirely in bookshelves stocked with countless volus—all dense and filling upwards of ten thousand titles!
Master Gui sat behind a mahogany desk, a book open in front of him with a purple clay teapot beside it.
Ling Feng walked over with a smile: "I didn’t think of you as a book lover, sir. To have so much literature!"
"What’s this? Do you enjoy reading too?" Master Gui asked.
"Not particularly,"
Ling Feng replied, sitting down and chuckling: "We’re supposed to et tonight—why the sudden urgency to see
now?"
"I have sothing to ask you,"
Master Gui replied, glancing at the young woman standing nearby: "Qingqing, go on out."
"Huh?"
The girl froze briefly, then pouted: "Grandpa, can’t I hear what you’re discussing?"
"It’s not relevant to you—go have so fun instead!" Master Gui said.
"No way! I want to stay—I can pour tea, though!" Qingqing swayed her hips and acted coquettishly.
This move proved quite effective, as Master Gui sighed: "Alright, sit down then. But no interrupting or causing trouble, and whatever you hear cannot be shared outside today!"
