Chapter 1155: Chapter 1155: Sharing a Room
Liu Fu nodded, "Yeah, I go to that mountain often, I’m more familiar with it than my own house!"
"Then, you’d better make so ti to go check it out. It’s getting late today, maybe tomorrow would be better," Ling Feng suggested.
"No problem, I’ll go now!"
Liu Fu said this and promptly got up and left the house.
Ling Feng originally wanted to follow him, but considering that the old man was a local and going up the mountain was an everyday affair, he thought there was no need to offer protection, so he stayed behind.
After that, he took out his phone and called Zhang He. As soon as the call connected, he directly asked, "When were the photos you gave
taken?"
"I think it was yesterday—latest images from the weather satellite. What’s wrong?" Zhang He asked.
"Can you find
so from half a month ago? I’d like to compare them to see if there are any changes on the ground," Ling Feng replied.
"Sure, the resolution from weather satellites isn’t very high. If you need sothing clearer, let
check if there are any military-grade images available," Zhang He said.
Ling Feng shook his head, "That won’t be necessary for now."
"Got it!"
Zhang He said before hanging up the phone.
A few minutes later, Ling Feng’s phone buzzed with a notification. Before he could open the ssage, Zhang He called him back.
"Did you see it? It’s really different!" Zhang He said.
Ling Feng smiled wryly, "I hadn’t had the chance to look yet—you called
right away!"
"Oh, then check it now. That place used to just be a barren mountain. How did it suddenly transform into a human-like figure? It’s truly bizarre!" Zhang He remarked.
"Hmm. Later, can you help
investigate to pinpoint exactly when the changes occurred? If you can find the transformation process, that’d be even better!" Ling Feng said.
"I’ll try. Is this really important?" Zhang He asked.
"Extrely important. This issue is now far beyond the level of the task we ca here for originally," Ling Feng said seriously.
"Alright!"
Zhang He didn’t say more and imdiately hung up to start gathering information.
By now, the sky was gradually darkening, but neither Ling Feng, Chen Yan, nor Ye Qian wanted to go ho. Their minds were consud by the gigantic mystery before them.
At that mont, Chen Yan suddenly asked in a low voice, "Uncle, it’s this late already—why hasn’t the neighbor co back?"
"No rush. If they don’t show up tonight, it’s probably because they’ve realized their companions were taken down by us and decided to flee in panic," Ling Feng said.
"Then how are we supposed to track them?" Chen Yan asked.
"We’ll play it by ear. This group won’t be able to escape," Ling Feng replied.
As they were talking, Liu Fu rushed back from the mountain.
As soon as he entered, he couldn’t help but exclaim with a shocked expression, "It really changed—what’s going on here? Who did this?"
"We don’t know yet. For now, it seems like soone profoundly admires Fuxi, otherwise they wouldn’t create such a shocking scene," Ling Feng said.
"But how was this even possible? Not a single sound, and the entire mountain was transford. This is incredible!" Liu Fu said.
Ye Qian, standing nearby, gave a bitter smile, "What’s more incredible is when we went up the mountain to check—the rock seems to have been carved many years ago. But you said it didn’t appear this way just a few days ago. How strange!"
"Mr. Ling, if news of this mountain gets out, will our area beco a tourist site?" Liu Fu asked.
"That’s a possibility!"
Ling Feng nodded and smiled, "But let’s not rush things. We need to figure things out first. We wouldn’t want uninford people barging in and getting hurt."
"Oh, then I won’t say anything to the villagers for now. But soon, everybody will find out—it’ll be impossible to keep it a secret!" Liu Fu said.
"Hmm, I understand. That’s why we need to uncover the truth in the next few days," Ling Feng replied.
Night began to settle in, and within half an hour, the mountains would sink into complete darkness.
Yet, the courtyard of Liu Fu’s neighbor remained eerily quiet—those two people still hadn’t returned.
Ling Feng, being a rural native himself, knew the habit of villagers who retire early after nightfall. He said goodbye to Liu Fu and his wife, then led Chen Yan and Ye Qian back to the old Li Family’s house next door.
The Li couple was warm and hospitable, bustling to prepare dinner and tea snacks, all of which Ling Feng politely declined.
After encouraging the elderly couple to rest, the three of them retreated to the west room.
Once the door was shut, Ling Feng noticed the bed had already been made. Two bright red, dragon-and-phoenix embroidered quilts—clearly from the Li couple’s son and daughter-in-law’s wedding dowry!
Ling Feng was sowhat speechless at the sight.
It was a peculiar feeling. Seeing such bedding gave the illusion of entering a bridal chamber.
But now, instead of newlyweds, he was with Chen Yan and Ye Qian—two single won. The atmosphere felt completely out of sync with the setting!
All three stood there, silent.
After a mont’s pause, Ling Feng—being the man—finally spoke, "You two rest first. If those two co back tonight, leave it to !"
"Should I stay up with you?" Chen Yan asked.
"No need, I can handle it on my own. You two have been running around all day—take ti to rest," Ling Feng responded.
Ye Qian sighed and said directly, "It’s not about resting—it’s the awkward atmosphere. The idea of us climbing into bed while you stand guard nearby... isn’t that weird?"
"Uh..."
Ling Feng froze at her words. She had a point. They were two grown won, and it would indeed feel odd for him to stick around while they settled in.
He laughed awkwardly before quickly saying, "Alright then. You two rest, and I’ll wait outside instead!"
With that, he turned and was about to leave, but Chen Yan suddenly grabbed him, "Don’t!"
"Hmm?"
Ling Feng’s heart skipped a beat. He looked back at her, "What’s wrong?"
"Why don’t we just turn off the light? That way, nobody can see each other—it solves everything," Chen Yan suggested.
"..."
Ling Feng was speechless. Wasn’t that just a way of fooling themselves? They all knew he had Divine Sense—turning off the light made no difference.
What surprised him was Ye Qian nodding in agreent, "She’s right. Turning off the light works; it’ll make everything less awkward!"
She then proceeded to climb onto the bed, pulling back the quilt and slipping inside. A sigh of contentnt escaped her lips, "So warm!"
"Really? Let
try!"
Chen Yan quickly followed suit, hopping on and burrowing into the quilt. She also let out a satisfied sigh, "It’s so warm—so comfortable!"
Ling Feng hadn’t slept on a heated brick bed in a while. Seeing this, he decided to join them.
The Li couple had, without a doubt, gone above and beyond to keep guests cozy. He wasn’t sure what fuel they used, but the heated bed was toasty and incredibly comfortable!
As Chen Yan and Ye Qian stared at him, Ling Feng smiled and asked, "Okay, I’m turning off the light now?"
"Mm!"
The two won nodded.
Ling Feng reached out and turned off the room’s light, plunging them into darkness.
Soon after, he began hearing faint rustling sounds—clothes being removed!
And gradually, the air filled with a delicate fragrance, seemingly the scent of the girls’ natural perfu!
