Yang Chen nodded his head in understanding, it appeared that the Greedvil system was not as cheapskate as he thought.
After burning the remains of the bandit to remove any clues, Yang Chen silently disappeared from the place.
On the side note, after reading Wuya Zhu’s mory, he was also made aware that so of the officials of the Yan city, were also involved with the Iron Blood bandits.
Thanks to the bribe the chieftains gave them, the officials of the Yan city overlooked most of their transgressions, even going as far as to alert them when the other clans ford a punitive force to purge them.
Thanks to their support, the Iron Blood bandit has been able to develop to the point where it was now.
Whether it be this world or his forr, corruption existed everywhere, it was just in human nature.
Although the fact that the officials from the Yan city were colluding with the bandits was a bad thing for the people of this region, it did not matter to Yang Chen. As long as it did not affect him, he wouldn’t bother poking his nose where it did not belong.
The system he had was not the ssiah System but the Greedvil System. All his actions up until now, only reflected his own self interest. And besides, by the ti he would be done with this place, the probability of the Iron Blood Bandit still existing was next to none.
So in a way, it could be said that his actions were still benefiting the people of this region one way or another. What a ssiah he was.
.
.
Three days later, it has already been more than a week since Yang Chen invaded the fallen mountain range. His actions of hunting the bandits had beco more widespread, even so high ranking battle master class bandits had fallen to his hands.
What changed was his area and pattern of hunting. He no longer targeted the footman, but went for the leaders and upper level bandits that were deep inside the forest causing waves of unease and agitation to spread amongst the bandits.
By now, every bandit was aware of Yang Chen and had given him a nickna unbeknownst to him. The Phantom Killer... the nickna ca from the fact that he always killed silently and swiftly and left no clues behind.
Additionally, it was very difficult to track him down. He appeared and disappeared like he wished just like a real phantom.
Inside the Chieftains tent, deep inside the Fallen Mountain Range. A subordinate was currently reporting the state of the situation to a person seated on a slightly elevated and crudely made chair.
The person wore a blood red armour that released a strong bloodlust just like Wuya Zhu and had a rough face with a scar on his right eye.
"You are saying that you all lost track of the invader around the eastern part of the mountain range?"
The vulture lord, Feng Kang questioned as he looked down on the bandit below, his eyes shone with a sharp light.
The subordinate involuntarily gulped from the pressure and hurriedly nodded his head. "That’s right chieftain, his tracks showed that he definitely escaped to the estern part of the mountain range yesterday".
Hearing the report, Feng Kang’s expression beca ugly "You say that, but he was spotted in the western region of the mountain range this morning and had reportedly killed quite a lot of our mbers. Explain to , how in the hell he avoided your surveillance and reached the opposite side of the mountain range overnight while you were tracking him down. Were you fools skimping on your task?"...
"That’s..." the subordinate trembled in his boots unable to co up with any words.
"Leave it at that Feng Kang. Instead of doing sothing that would achieve no result, it would be better to send this subordinate off with a warning"
Just when it felt like he would faint from the increasing pressure, the entrance to the tent was swept open and another person no less imposing than Feng Kang, stepped inside.
As soon as that person ca in, Feng Kang got up from his seat and cupped his hands. He quickly dispersed the subordinate from the tent before prodding with a hesitant voice.
"Elder Brother you ca out, does that an that...?".
"Hehe, you don’t have to be nervous. It was a success, I have successfully achieved the Three Star Battle Grandmaster rank. Now even those deacons from the Yan City can’t look down on my Iron Blood Bandits"
Who could the person who could even make Feng Kang, one of the three chieftains subservient and even make them call him Elder Brother be other than Wu Zhong?
The Eagle Lord smiled brightly and declared with a tinge of pride. He had finally achieved a breakthrough that he had been yearning for a long ti. Naturally, it called for a little bit of boasting.
Wu Zhong found a seat next to Feng Kang and spoke. "I heard the reports from your subordinate. It appears that the invader is still not caught yet. To be able to manoeuvre through the mountain range so freely, they must be very familiar with the geography here"
"It is highly likely that the invaders are from the surrounding region, possibly from the Yan City. I need to call Deacon Hong, they must know sothing about the invaders"
Wu Zhong took out a small hexagonal plate marked with complex runes around its rim, from his space ring.
The object that he took out was a sound transmission plate that was sold in the auction houses of the Yan City for a very high price. The one he had in hand was one of the low grade ones that he got from deacon Hong as a sign of their continued cooperation.
Wu Zhong injected so of his battle energy inside the plate and imdiately, the runes on the plate started glowing and faint ripples started emitting from it. This was the sign that the plate had been activated.
