Yang Chen spoke, he did not carry his usual smile anymore. The reason for that was that these people had almost made him unable to keep his end of the deal he made with Lin Mang.
He harboured a strong aversion to those who failed to honor their promises.
During his third year at the hospital after being diagnosed with an incurable disease, just before his parents had left on a foreign trip to seek the best dical help for him, his father had asked – no, pleaded – with his relatives to visit him regularly and keep an eye on his well-being.
To that extent, he even paid them a large sum of money for the task. However, what did his relatives do? Setting aside the fact that they were probably behind the reason why he was killed, they never ca to pay him a visit. Instead, they hired an unknown person to perform the task and shalessly pocketed all of the money ant for his care.
Despite their lack of genuine concern for him, they never missed a single family function or invitation from Yang Chen’s family when they were reaping the rewards of success. Their hypocritical behavior and heartless actions left a bitter taste in his mouth.
The only ti they bothered to visit him was in the fourth year when news of his parents’ tragic demise in a mysterious car accident in a foreign land reached them. And even then, their visit was motivated solely by the prospect of inheriting the vast fortune and assets his parents had left behind. Their true intentions beca apparent as they greedily eyed his inheritance, scheming to snatch it away for their own selfish plans.
The audacity of their actions, using a tragic event as an opportunity to further their own agendas, only deepened the bitterness within Yang Chen’s heart. He had lost his parents, and the people who were supposed to be family turned out to be nothing more than opportunistic vultures. It was a painful revelation that left scars that wouldn’t easily heal.
Since then, Yang Chen had beco wary of trusting others easily and beca adept at recognizing true intentions behind friendly facades. The scars of betrayal from those closest to him shaped him into a person who valued sincerity and loyalty above all else.
Lin Mang had kept his end of the deal and provided him with all the rewards in hopes that he would help Lin Huiyin when she faced danger. So Yang Chen planned to keep his end too.
However, because of these two clowns, he had almost beco the thing that he abhorred the most.
The second reason was of course due to the lingering resentnt within this body. Now that he was facing the Zhang clan, the emotions inside him started acting up. It was because of these reasons that there was no smile on Yang Chen’s face.
"Get out of the way, our goal is not you"...
"That’s right, if you get out of the way, we won’t attack you. Besides, you are not from the Lin clan, so you shouldn’t have any reason to protect her" Zhang Hai and Zhang Lei spoke in a stern voice.
From the way their face was twitching, it seed that they were going through an intense internal pain. They might have been right about Yang Chen not being from the Lin clan but they were severely mistaken about one thing.
"Hmph, do you ants think that I’m afraid of you? Haha, it’s funny to think that you would beco so arrogant just because you consud two pills. Did that fake power get over your heads? You guys really think you are stronger than ?" Yang Chen wasn’t afraid of these people.
So what if he was facing two opponents in the One Star Battle Master level? Not to ntion the fact that he was stronger than them, the strength that his opponents possessed right now was because of the pills they consud. It was not their real strength.
Their so-called pills and temporary power boost ant nothing to him. Forget about facing just two of them, even if there were a few more, Yang Chen would still be able to win effortlessly.
As if to prove that point, he nonchalantly kept his right hand inside his pocket while using the index finger of his left hand, he taunted his opponents. "Co and get "
"You are seeking death" Zhang Hai expression was dark as he shouted out. Together with Zhang Lei, he rushed towards Yang Chen and ruthlessly chopped down at the latter.
Yang Chen simply stood there and allowed his opponent to attack him however they wanted.
Two sword slashes brimming with sharp sword energy, ca attacking him from both sides.
"Die" the two Zhang clan participants roared out.
CLANG... there was a powerful clash of energy and loud clanging noises accompanying it. The two attacks connected squarely on Yang Chen’s chest and instantly chopped him in half or so it should have been.
However, to their surprise, Yang Chen seed completely unhurt. What’s more, the sword energy that they released with all their power, did not even manage to scratch the opponent’s clothes.
"What?!" Zhang Hai muttered in astonishnt.
"How can that be? That attack was from two Battle Master class practitioners" Zhang Lei was the sa.
Yang Chen coming out unscathed from their attack was sothing that they never imagined even in their wildest of dreams.
"Was that your strongest attack? If you have any other attack more powerful than this, now is the ti to display it. Don’t worry, I’ll just be standing here waiting for you guys to complete your attack" Yang Chen comnted dusting his clothes.
His attitude that completely looked down on them, further angered the duo.
"You Bastard, I will make you eat those words" Zhang Hai was absolutely furious. he might not have been the genius of the Zhang clan like Zhang Wei, but he still had his own pride as soone who managed to achieve his current level with his own efforts.
Being looked down with such scorn and mockery how could he take it?
"Zhang Lei use all of your battle energy, we are doing that attack once again".
