Chapter 793: Stalemate

Translator: Halcyon Translations Editor: Halcyon Translations

Compared with other Berserker equipnt, the Archaedas Berserker Set had a very obvious flaw – it couldn’t regenerate HP.

In addition this, it also reduced healing from other players and stifled the player’s own basic HP regeneration.

It was not accident that this flaw existed. Dawn couldn’t have such an overpowered set of equipnt, even if it was very difficult to collect.

Any top piece of equipnt still had trade-offs.

For example, the potential of Lu Li’s Supre Ring seed to be limitless, but even if Lu Li learned Druid Skills in the Leopard form, would the damage output be higher than his Thief damage output?

Moreover, the extrely difficult upgrading process was also problematic. The original owner, Azure Sea Breeze, was proof of this fact. If this problem couldn’t be resolved, not only would it be a bad piece of equipnt, but it might even ruin a player who was at the top of the ga.

Taking advantage of the fact that the Archaedas Berserker Set couldn’t regenerate HP was Lu Li’s only opportunity.

In the following monts, Lu Li’s performance perfectly embodied what it ant for a Thief to be like a ghost. He weaved in and out of the shadows, and every ti he appeared behind Elevenless he would cast a rotation of skills, then escape.

In the beginning, Elevenless wasn’t concerned; he thought that Lu Li was already done for.

He had 7,000 HP, which was greater than most other Berserkers and every ti Lu Li attacked him, he would only lose 200HP at the very most. He thought that this was definitely just a last-ditch attempt.

However, there was one ti when Lu Li attacked him and he lost 600-700 HP.

As ti passed, he soon realized that things would not be as simple as they seed.

Pure White Season had been watching for a while and was looking for a question to ask.

"It looks difficult for Lu Li to win way this, right?"

The ga on stage looked ridiculous, but so of the Thieves could make out what was happening. Everyone else turned to Water Fairy for an explanation.

There had been no sound coming from the comntators for quite a long ti.

After a few minutes of saying everything that needed to be said, the three comntators were also calmly watching the ga.

"In fact, winning this match is not the most important thing," Water Fairy began. She also didn’t feel like Lu Li had much hope of winning against soone with such high Defense. After a sigh, she continued, "I think he is playing for those after him to win. The more HP he takes now, the more likely the person after him will win."

If Lu Li could hear Water Fairy, he would sneer at her.

Winning the match wasn’t the most important thing?

That was wrong; he had never given up hope of winning. Instead, he felt that Elevenless was less challenging to fight like this. After all, Lu Li had solo-killed multiple Bosses in the past.

If you hadn’t experienced soloing a Boss, you would never know what it felt like to spend a few hours just repeating the sa actions.

There was no way that Elevenless was stronger than a Boss.

Perhaps during the first few tis he was at risk of being caught by Elevenless, but as ti went by, he eventually learned all of his attack patterns. He paid careful attention to his movent speed, his reaction ti and the skills that he would commonly cast.

After learning this information, his attacks on Elevenless beca even stronger.

Elevenless’ forehead was soon dripping in sweat. This was not because of his full body armor; the internal temperature was adjusted so that it would be the sa as the outside world. As he stood in the stadium glancing around at his surroundings carefully, he began to feel distressed.

He was like a fish in a puddle, watching as the water around him disappeared.

Every ti he cast Trample, he would find that no one had been hit by it. It had been a long ti since he had last damaged Lu Li. He had such exquisite equipnt, but no chance of hitting this slippery Thief.

However, Lu Li’s situation wasn’t that optimistic either. He had dealt one third of Elevenless’ HP, but had spent ten minutes doing so.

Lu Li himself had about the sa amount of HP, but because he was rarely caught by Elevenless, the gap between them was growing larger.

The problem wasthat he was getting tired.

Ten minutes didn’t seem like a long ti; most players spent hours playing the ga without getting tired. After all, virtual reality would place the players in a light sleep. However, Lu Li was still exhausted and Elevenless wasn’t a bad player.

Although he looked impatient while Lu Li was attacking him from all sides, Lu Li knew better than anyone else that this guy was waiting for an opportunity to fight back.

The comntators were no longer just talking about how Lu Li would lose and the players in the crowd were also becoming excited.

Many of them were analyzing Lu Li’s actions, thinking that this very specific tactic was a good general strategy. They tried to take it on for themselves, thinking that one day they would be like Lu Li, running circles around soone like Sorrowless.

However, only a small portion of players understood and admired Lu Li’s tenacity.

This kind of tenacity had nothing to do with his technique. There was no training thod to learn this – it was simply a character trait. Regardless of whether it was an inherent ability or a trained skill, not everyone had this.

"I probably couldn’t do this. If I had run into Elevenless, I probably wouldn’t him down to half HP," Water Fairy frankly admitted her weakness.

She was a very cheerful girl and was very much liked by other players.

At this ti, Elevenless’ HP had been reduced to 20%, while Lu Li still had half of his HP. An almost impossible miracle had been perford before everyone’s eyes.

Those who thought that Lu Li was going to lose badly had to face their superficial understanding.

"Lu Li, you old man. You really are evil!" Elevenless shouted breathlessly as his tired eyes tried to find Lu Li. Although he hadn’t moved, he had still spent the sa amount of energy because he had never given up trying to catch Lu Li.

As Water Fairy put it, it didn’t matter whether this ga was a victory or a loss. This was just one round and not a match-winning ga. If you couldn’t win, it was best to try and create a better situation for the following player.

Towards the end of the fight, both players were clearly fatigued, but things were clearly more serious for Lu Li. His attacks were less precise and he spent more ti walking around beyond Elevenless’ attack range. There were several opportunities that he failed to capitalize on.
