Chapter 670: Masked Against Masked

Translator: Halcyon Translations Editor: Halcyon Translations

After he defeated the Warlock, Lu Li also killed a few more other players.

Then, the audience seat of the room began to fill up. It was only a matter of ti before people noticed a room that constantly won. As the victory total of the room began to build up, the room would appear higher in the system rankings.

These audience mbers only needed to pay ten copper coins to watch a match, but of course, Lu Li could set the price himself.

Normally, people wouldn’t raise the price. Lu Li didn’t need this small amount of money either, so he didn’t bother wasting his ti. He wanted his room to be popular so that its ranking would rise and it would catch the attention of better players.

"Who’s this Thief? Why is he covering his face?" one of the newcors in the audience asked.

"Not sure. I’ve only watched one round, but this guy is pretty decent – very clean. His equipnt is really good too. He only just killed a Mage. The Mage had their shield up, but couldn’t even make it past the fifth shot," the player beside him explained.

"Is it a pro?" another guessed.

"No way – why would pro players co here to trash on noobs? That’s too shaless," the previous player responded.

If Lu Li heard this, he would probably be really embarrassed.

It didn’t take long for the crowd to beco familiar with each other. The audience comnted on the players who battled against each other on the stage. Unfortunately, Lu Li was too quick; he ended another opponent with one set of skills.

"This is the twelfth victory in a row. This guy has to at least be from a big guild, right?"

These average players weren’t very skilled, but at least they were decent judges.

"It’s a sha his gears is covered – otherwise, we would be able to guess," a player said with disappointnt. These players spent a lot of ti watching others fight, so they had seen all sorts of equipnt and were experts in the field. With one glance, they could tell the difference between equips and what dungeon they were from.

It wasn’t until his 16th victory that Lu Li ran into soone interesting.

"Worldly Cruiser! It’s Worldly Cruiser from Glory Capital!"

By this ti, his room was filled with around a hundred players in the audience. These players could na Lu Li’s opponent this ti, which ant that he wasn’t a random nobody.

Worldly Cruiser was a Paladin; he didn’t look old, but his expression seed serious.

This was another poor child who had been heavily influenced by Paladin novels.

In Dawn, most of the Paladins had a serious face, as if all their emotions had been sacrificed to the holy light.

This ti, Worldly Cruiser started the fight before Lu Li forced it.

It seed like this guy wasn’t interested in chit chat with Lu Li either; he probably wanted to quickly get rid of Lu Li so he could enter the next room.

As per usual, Lu Li imdiately went into Stealth mode. It didn’t matter which class you were playing against; you had to Stealth first to find a chance to sneak up on your opponents if you were a Thief.

The Paladin casted Consecration just in ti. If he was fighting an ordinary Thief, they would have already been burnt.

However, Lu Li wasn’t no ordinary Thief. He patiently waited for the cooldown ti of Consecration and casted Sap.

This was the mont you could tell players from major guilds and average players apart. After Worldly Cruiser had been Sapped, he imdiately used his Badge and followed up with a Divine Storm.

Even Lu Li wanted to applaud him – with this reaction ti, he would definitely be welco to join Ruling Sword.

Of course, this wasn’t enough to bring Lu Li out of Stealth. Lu Li moved aside by a few steps and easily dodged his AoE spell.

As soon as the AoE spell stopped, Lu Li casted a Cheap Shot on him, using his mobility to his advantage.

After this round ended, a few more noobs ca along to sacrifice themselves. Although they couldn’t force out any of his trump cards, they at least managed to warm him up.

Sixty-eight rounds – all victories!

Lu Li’s room had already made it into the top 20 amongst the arena rooms of the day and was also the room with the quickest rise.

There were already around 700-800 players who had heard of what was going on and were seated in the audience. The tickets and winning prizes that Lu Li weren’t interested in had already totaled to a dozen gold coins.

What surprised everyone the most wasn’t his 68 rounds of victories in a row – it was that these victories had all been accomplished in less than an hour. This ant that Lu Li had only taken about a minute for each round.

Master!

There was no doubt – everyone had already seen how master players fought against each other. Even the top players in the arena wouldn’t be able to do any better.

Lu Li was becoming tired from all the fighting, so he chose to pause and drink so wine before he ca back in.

The audience seat was still fully packed – in fact, more had turned up after his return. He opened the list of challengers listed by the system, and this ti, there were dozens of players who were waiting to fight him.

Lu Li un-paused and the System began to toss challengers into his room again.

After he defeated another 20 players, Lu Li began to feel that the quality of his challengers was improving. By now, it was likely that the top arena players had heard of him.

After his received his hundredth victory, his audience seats expanded by ten-tis, so ten thousand players could now watch. This earned even more ticket money for Lu Li, but was also the limit of the arena – the audience seats would no longer expand.

After he defeated a Shaman, Lu Li was greeted by his 116th challenger of the day.

The style of this 116th challenger was a bit strange.

They were wearing the sa thing – Lu Li and the Warrior were both in hiding mode.

Hiding mode could mask the true form of their equipnt – all equipnt from the sa class would look the sa.

They also covered their faces with masks, so that no one could find anything to identify them.

"I know who you are, hehehehe," the challenger laughed.

"But you don’t plan to tell anyone else?" Lu Li was about to force the fight, but he stopped. If his opponent was also in hiding, that ant that they weren’t interested in revealing his identity to the crowd.

"Cut the chat. Let’s have a good fight," the challenger said as he stopped laughing.

"Hopefully you won’t disappoint ."

Lu Li nodded his head and began to believe that this person really knew who he was. Perhaps he would recognize this player later during the fight too.

Everyone had their own special playstyle; this wasn’t sothing that you could change with a simple mask on your face.

Lu Li had already fought around a hundred matches, and if soone paid attention to a dozen of them carefully enough, they would most likely be able to figure out who he was.
