“Ugh-!”

The greatsword swung down from above and shattered the orc’s skull.

The recoil lifted my body slightly. Without stopping, I used the greatsword as leverage and kicked my legs back. My body spun in the air, and the greatsword was retrieved.

“Hoo-!”

Once more, I swung the greatsword down from above.

“Ugh-!”

The torso of another orc in the path of the greatsword was split in half.

“Huff!”

I took a short breath and landed on the ground.

Using Giga Sense, I scanned my surroundings.

“One, two, three, four, five...!”

There were five corpses scattered across the floor.

I unfolded the quest sheet I had received from the guild.

The text was unreadable, but through Giga Sense, I could clearly feel the indents on the paper.

In the center of the sheet, there was a mark shaped like the number 5.

The receptionist, Herela, had kindly marked it.

“The world’s still worth living in! Heheh.”

I chuckled to myself, thinking of Herela, then stabbed the greatsword into the floor and let go of it.

My vision darkened, and strength drained from my body.

Hmm… Is my head going blank? Anyway.

“Really, I can’t get used to this…”

I crouched down, pulled the hamr from my right thigh, and groped around the orc’s corpse, which was now just a torso.

The first thing I touched... was the orc’s chest.

“Ugh…”

Moving further up, I felt the clavicle, and a bit higher, I caught a sharp fang with my fingertips.

“Ugh... It’s sticky…”

I grabbed the tooth tightly and swung the hamr.

After a few swings, the resistance on the hamr lessened.

“Hm, I think that’s good.”

I stood up briefly to check the result, grabbing the greatsword's hilt.

Information about the surrounding terrain flowed into my mind.

After the sharp headache subsided, I checked the state of the orc’s head I had crushed with the hamr.

“A little lower…”

I pulled my hand away from the greatsword and crouched again, swinging the hamr at the area around the gums.

With a crack sound, warm liquid splashed near my ankles.

“Ugh...”

I shuddered and got back up, grabbing the hilt of my sword.

It wasn’t perfect, but the teeth had co out separately.

“Hm- Not bad.”

I gathered them up and placed them in the leather pouch hanging at my waist.

Afterward, I pulled out all the teeth from the remaining orcs.

Smiling proudly, I tapped the now-heavy pouch.

“Another day, another paycheck-!”

I hung the greatsword back at my waist and strapped the bag, hidden in the corner, onto my back.

I took a cloth from the bag and roughly wiped the bloodstains before heading out.

It’s ti to get paid!

Screech- Thud- Screech- Thud-

The greatsword dragging on the ground made a scraping sound as I walked.

I looked back.

...I couldn’t see, but I looked back using Giga Sense.

The footprint of the greatsword was etched beside mine.

“Sigh…”

Frustrated, I thumped the greatsword with my fist and continued on.

Screech- Thud- Screeeech- Thud-thud-!

“Excluding the floor repair cost, the total is 1 gold. Good work, Noah.”

Herela smiled at

and handed over my paynt.

Heh... This is why I hunt.

I’ll treat everyone today since I got treated last ti!

“Th-thank... you... Ah, t-today...”

Despite my gratitude, my pathetic body couldn’t even say a proper thank you.

I sighed inwardly and expanded my Giga Sense to look around.

The stale sll of sweat.

Wooden walls.

A large round table.

Stains of alcohol splattered across the surface.

Drunken adventurers chatting noisily.

In contrast, adventurers with serious expressions staring at the bulletin board.

It was a familiar scene I’d seen in the ga for the past 8 years.

The ga’s na was [Black Sun].

It was a ga I poured all my love and ti into.

The gaplay was a typical Souls-like MMORPG, but the customization was incredibly free.

The system was the sa—allocating stats within a given point range—but by lowering other stats or imposing penalties, you gained large amounts of points.

This allowed for the creation of many characters with strange concepts.

And about 30% of those characters were ones I had made.

One day, I ca across a post in the community that caught my eye.

[Short, flat-chested, greatsword-wielding blind girl, what do you think? But I don’t know how to overco the blind penalty.]

The title alone instantly hooked .

Such romance... I didn’t think I’d find it anywhere else. Without hesitation, I logged into the ga and started creating the character.

Female.

Black hair.

Red eyes.

Warrior class.

Greatsword as the weapon.

And I gave her the blind penalty.

With the main frawork in place, I needed a trait to overco that penalty.

While searching, I found a single solution.

The trait Giga Sense, which you gained when you maxed out Greatsword Mastery.

When wielding a greatsword, it allowed you to feel your surroundings in great detail.

Yeah. When wielding the greatsword.

Without it, I’d just be a weak, useless, short, blind girl, but that didn’t matter.

After all, it was just a ga, and there was no reason I’d ever need to put the weapon down.

Anyway, the points required to acquire Giga Sense were enormous.

Even with the points I gained from the blind penalty, it wasn’t enough.

So, I decided to dump all other stats.

I set my height to 145.7 cm, the minimum required to equip the greatsword.

I set agility and weight to the minimum needed for the weapon.

I also discarded all lifestyle stats like charm, cooking, and crafting.

Having low charm made it hard to raise NPC affection, which would hinder quest acquisition.

But who cares about that?

[Black Sun] veteran here.

Veterans don’t worry about those things.

I dropped it all.

Cooking? I’ll just buy potions when my health is low.

Crafting? I’ll go to the blacksmith for equipnt maintenance.

Intelligence? And everything else? I didn’t need it.

It’s just a ga.

Cooking? Crafting?

Why are those necessary?!!

When my health drops, I’ll just use a potion!!

And everything that requires crafting, the blacksmith can do!

So I discarded all of it! Why??

But! But!!

I didn’t expect to get trapped in that character...

Anyway, because of my zero lifestyle stats, I couldn’t even have a proper conversation with NPCs or do simple equipnt repairs.

Because of the ill-fitting greatsword, I spent my days just scratching up the floorboards at the adventurer guild.

Even though Giga Sense let

sense my surroundings, I couldn’t see text, pictures, colors, or even people’s faces.

But after living like this for two months, I could at least sense facial expressions through the movents of facial muscles!

I’m amazing!

“Sigh…”

I sighed again, defeated by my pitiful life.

As I sighed, Herela gently patted my head with concern in her voice.

“Noah, is sothing troubling you?”

“N-no…”

Yes, there is!

I miss Herela’s face so much!

I’ve seen it in-ga, but never in real life!!

“If you’re having a hard ti, feel free to talk to

anyti. I’ll listen after work, okay?”

“Y-yes... thank you.”

I nodded while feeling Herela’s comforting touch.

After a while, Herela, who had been stroking my head, seed to rember sothing and spoke up.

“Oh, right. Noah, there’s a requested job that ca in. How would you like to take it?”

“A... requested job...? Uh…”

This is awkward.

And suspicious!

I’m good at hunting, but why would they ask for , a blind person with no social skills?

Hmm... Is it my looks?

Well, I guess I’m sowhat cute.

After all, I put a lot of effort into my character’s customization.

But if soone’s reacting to this short, flat-chested girl...

No way, I’m not doing it!

Even if they offer a lot of money, no way.

“I-I’m not doing it…”

“The most important thing! The reward is 30 gold. Quite a lot, don’t you think?”

“I’ll do it...!”

For that amount, I’d even sell my soul.

“Heheh, I’m glad you decided! Shall I read it to you then?”

I nodded.

Herela carefully opened the envelope and unfolded the quest sheet.

She leaned in and whispered softly in my ear.

“Let’s see... The task is to escort soone to Cartia Village. The reward is 30 gold. It’s a condition that secrecy must be maintained.”

Secrecy? How does she know I’m good at keeping quiet?

“If you accept, it says to wait at the farthest corner of the Adventurers’ Guild by 1 PM on August 27th.”

The 27th... That’s tomorrow.

“T-tomorrow...?”

“Yep. It’s a little past 6 PM now, so you’d better prepare quickly, shouldn’t you?”

Already 6 PM...?

Did I really spend 11 hours collecting orc teeth?

And where the heck is Cartia Village?

“Uh... Herela, how far is Cartia Village?”

“Well, it’ll take about a week by carriage.”

“A week...?”

Herela paused for a mont before speaking.

“Noah, have you never done a long-term quest before?”

“No…”

“Alright, I’ll make a list for you, and if you just follow it, you’ll be fine.”

Wow... Herela, are you an angel?

Why are you so nice to ?

Even though I won’t even bring anything in return...!

My nose felt a little tingly.

When I get the 30 gold, I’ll treat everyone!

“Th-thank you…”

“It’s nothing. Now go clean up, Noah. I’ll give you the list after dinner.”

With my throat completely dry, I nodded enthusiastically and headed toward the inn.

Herela’s gaze as I left felt like the eyes of soone looking at a stray puppy.
