Chapter 510: Three Major Camps
In the morning, inside the human race barrier, there was a small tavern that was temporarily set up.
It must be said that humans, even in such a critical situation, as long as they are not dead yet, there will always be soone thinking of ways to make money.
This tavern is specifically open to fourth-rank strong individuals, but if a third-rank peak with enough elental crystals in their pocket, they can also be let in.
By the window, one can clearly see the scenery outside the barrier. Two n were toasting to each other, their eyes revealing a hidden gloominess.
It was Hachikuju and Yang Hao, whom Zhang Mu had not seen for two years.
Hachikuju still looked pretty much the sa, but there were so new scary scars on his already fierce face.
The forr Yang Hao, who is now eighteen, looked a bit more mature between the eyebrows, but his eyes had lost a bit of vitality.
The most surprising thing was that his progress had been so fast that in just over two years, he was able to compete on the sa level as Hachikuju.
“Yang Hao, you’ve been working hard. Just hang in there a little longer, and I’ll find soone to take over for you when the ti cos.”
Upon hearing Hachikuju’s words, Wang Liang didn’t say much. He was feeling weak now, showing signs of energy depletion, and he poured himself another glass of wine.
“Can’t help it, but at least we won’t be completely wiped out by the Beast Tide and zombie sea all at once.
Only a fourth-rank earth-type evolver from the human race can maintain this barrier. We will find those who are hiding no matter how deep, where can you go to find them for ?
Giving you half a day of rest already shows respect for Hachikuju; otherwise, if you are labeled as betraying the group, the entire Red Fla Legion won’t be able to handle it.
Forget it, they’ve gone crazy. Let them hold on, thinking that the barrier Wan Yuan brought out is invincible. It’s ridiculous. Once our group of fourth-rank earth-type evolvers run out, how will the barrier be maintained?
Living in a dream, slowly dying.”
Hachikuju wanted to say sothing but couldn’t argue back. None of the Era Sub-rchants here were left – they had all been destroyed years ago. The Era Sub-rchants that Hachikuju and Yang Hao knew had no important abilities or resources to speak of.
The human race now split into three factions, with Hachikuju’s Red Fla Legion being one of them.
The other two forces were Tianfang City and Changsheng Hall.
Although the three factions had temporarily set aside their hatred, they still kept their distance from each other and fought independently.
In these past two years, humans have strengthened themselves and started fighting against their enemies from various races to reclaim their occupied lands.
After the ceasefire, driven by interests, there were conflicts between the factions of the human race again.
With great power in hand, who wouldn’t want to exchange it for imnse wealth, even if it ant betraying their own kind?
Many of Hachikuju’s old friends died in battle. Ironically, most of them didn’t die in battles with other races, but within their own people – either in face-to-face combat or through secret assassinations.
Zhang Yi was wounded by an assassin, lost an arm, and had to step back. Now he doesn’t even qualify to enter Era Battlefield. On the other hand, Qizilbash wasn’t lucky. While fighting against the Beastman for the city, one of his own people cut off his head and took it back for a reward.
Zhou Erzhu actually had more talent than Yang Hao. He should have been able to reach the fourth-rank level earlier. But during the chaos of battle, Zhou Erzhu died.
Sotis, luck is more important than strength.
The three forces were like water and fire, completely opposite. They thought they had driven the herd of beasts and zombie sea back to remote areas, so they were ready to settle their differences among themselves.
What they didn’t know was that while the human race was fighting amongst themselves, the other two tribes were biding their ti, quietly preparing.
Then, Era Battlefield appeared and forced these three forces to work together, setting aside their deep hatred.
Of course, they could choose not to cooperate, but the consequence would be the extinction of their tribes, so they had to co to an agreent.
None of the three forces expected the Beastman’s retaliation to co so quickly. anwhile, the zombie tribe took advantage of the situation to strike hard, leaving them no room to breathe.
Just as the human race was about to be eliminated, a junior Era Sub-rchant revealed the protective barrier that was shielding them. However, sustaining the energy of the protective barrier required an early fourth-rank earth evolver working with a large amount of elental crystals.
Even though Yang Hao was now the vice commander of the Red Fla Legion, he was forcibly recruited due to the nature of his awakened ability. It was said to be for the safety of the human race, but Yang Hao couldn’t shake the feeling that Wan Yuan was benefitting greatly from it.
Despite his young age, he had long seen through Wan Yuan’s early bird catches the worm nature. And with Zhou Erzhu already fallen in battle, he suddenly found life quite dull.
Hachikuju saw Yang Hao’s frustration but didn’t know how to comfort him. Yang Hao was like a brother to him, a soldier he had trained himself, and now he felt trapped in a role, continuously providing energy of fourth-rank while unable to move for days. It didn’t sit right with anyone.
Only Wan Yuan possessed the protective barrier that controlled the fate of thousands within.
He sighed, saying, “If only my brother Zhang Mu were still here. He was also an Era Sub-rchant. With him around, Wan Yuan wouldn’t have a free rein.”
At the ntion of Zhang Mu’s na, a spark lit up in Yang Hao’s eyes. The events from two years prior had spread throughout the entire Inner Mongolia main city. Despite so lingering resentnt for being used, Zhang Mu was indeed the hero who saved them.
Furthermore, the black armored beetle that saved them both was Zhang Mu’s steed.
But soon, Yang Hao’s gaze dimd, and he shook his head.
No matter how brave and clever the legendary Zhang Mu was said to be, he had ultimately perished, leaving no trace behind.
Even though Red Fla Wolf Rider changed its na and went through many changes, Yang Hao still preferred to call him Hachikuju leader.
“Leader, Zhang Mu has died.”
Hachikuju sighed and said slowly, “Yes, he’s gone. If the human race disappears again, no one will rember him by the na Zhang Mu.”
Who would have thought that low-level zombies could be part of the top-tier third-rank zombie kings and be brought into Era Battlefield?
Looking out the window, seeing the cannon-fodder-like low-level zombies tirelessly crashing against the barrier, Hachikuju started to get a headache.
Not to ntion that the earth-elent evolvers maintaining the barrier were not enough, the daily consumption of elental crystals was also a huge number.
But still, he had to obediently hand over the required amount of elental crystals every day.
Unable to make ends et, Hachikuju could already foresee the outco.
If only Zhang Mu were still here!
Hachikuju rubbed his head and felt a bit restless lately.
Forget it, what Yang Hao said is right. Zhang Mu’s brother is gone, it’s not realistic to keep thinking about him. We should focus on how to help the legion break free from the encirclent of the Beast Tide.
Sitting on the shoulder of Tree Man, Zhang Mu sneezed heavily and looked around suspiciously.
Who’s talking about ?
