"But..." Yvette wanted to ask, but Mr. Grant never explained those rumors before.

"You an those rumors before?" Ethan felt a bit guilty. "Paige Fulton is an artist under my company. At that ti, Harrison Sterling personally got involved; she needed so heat back then..."

Back then, Ethan had no idea that he would et Yvette soday. "I can explain this matter."

"I originally wanted to clarify, but I was too lazy to say much at that ti. Should I issue a statent tomorrow?" Ethan was afraid Yvette would get angry.

Yvette looked confused. "Why issue a statent?"

Isn’t that a normal thing?

"I’m afraid you might misunderstand..." Ethan took a deep breath.

It turns out that feeling guilty in front of soone you like is like this.

"Not at all." Yvette shook her head. "We are partners, my job is to fend off those won for you. I just need to know Mr. Grant’s true feelings, if it’s soone you like, then I’ll know how to handle it."

Yvette’s overly businesslike approach made Ethan’s heart sink.

"You don’t need to handle it," Ethan’s voice was deep and heavy.

"Mr. Grant..." Yvette wasn’t giving up, and asked softly again. "So, you have no other intentions towards Miss Paige, right?"

"Do I look like I’m interested in her?" Ethan snorted, feeling a bit annoyed.

Yvette didn’t know what upset Ethan, so she looked down and fidgeted with her fingers.

Even if Ethan said he didn’t care, making him lose face in front of Harrison Sterling would still upset him, right?

The circumstances of her birth and her guilt made Yvette deeply insecure.

Her thoughts were overly sensitive.

Ethan parked the car next to a small night market where Sumrs and Caden often ate. That million-dollar luxury car looked rather out of place among the shared electric bikes and tricycles.

Of course, besides Ethan’s car, there was another million-dollar luxury car, also particularly eye-catching.

"Uncle!" Sumrs exclaid with delight after getting out of the car, surprised to find Caden and Michelle Lockwood eating at a roadside stall!

At the stall.

Caden had a gloomy face as he looked at Michelle. "Are you sure you’re okay with eating this?"

Michelle scoffed. "Back when Miss Lockwood was picking leftovers in M Country, you were still in the army."

Caden was stunned for a mont, assuming Michelle was joking.

After all, she’s the eldest daughter of the Lockwood Family, and married into a wealthy family, how could she have been picking leftovers abroad?

"Uncle!" Sumrs suddenly appeared, leaping into Caden’s arms.

Caden finally reacted, looking at Sumrs, Yvette, and Ethan in shock. "Mr. Grant?"

Michelle looked unfazed, patting the seat next to her. "What a coincidence, Caden’s treating, co join us."

"We already have soone treating us." Ethan raised a corner of his mouth, looking proud.

"Oh? Yvette treating you to skewers? No wonder you siblings have the sa taste." Michelle teased Yvette with a smile.

Yvette especially liked Michelle, instinctively pushing Ethan aside to sit excitedly next to Michelle. "It’s Sumrs treating... hosting..."

"Our little one is treating?" Michelle looked at Sumrs with surprise. "Co here, let your sister give you a kiss."

Sumrs happily jumped into Michelle’s arms. "Sister, I’m treating."

Michelle adored Sumrs dearly and kissed her on the cheek. "Alright, you’re saving your uncle so money today."

Caden got up helplessly, feeling a bit awkward. "Mr. Grant... if you don’t mind... just have a seat here."

After speaking, he carefully wiped the seat for Ethan with an alcohol wipe.

Ethan looked at the street-side skewer stall, remaining silent for a long ti.

It seed like his brain was about to overheat.

He had never seen this kind of street food.

So many people eating from the sa pot?

He felt a bit intimidated, but since Sumrs was treating... he couldn’t embarrass the child.

Yvette’s attention was entirely on Michelle, so she had no ti to mind Ethan.

"Miss Lockwood, are you used to eating this?" Yvette looked at Michelle with bright eyes.

It was obvious she practically had the words "I admire you" written on her face.

"Super tasty." Michelle nodded, casually picking a skewer of sweet and spicy tofu, with a pointed look at Caden. "I’m easy to please, unlike Mr. Grant who’s so picky."

Ethan’s face darkened.

If you’re pursuing Caden, go ahead, why drag into it?

Yvette rembered Ethan and stood up nervously. "Mr. Grant... if you’re not used to eating this, we can go eat sothing else."

Ethan huffed, was he just now rembered?

He saw Yvette practically glued to Michelle.

Lucky for Michelle being a woman, if she were a man, Ethan would probably have tossed the jar of vinegar at her face.

"I’m fine with eating this!" Ethan seed to challenge Michelle.

Michelle eating skewers, taunted Ethan. "Then Mr. Grant should eat."

Ethan took a deep breath, wearing a determined look as if heading into battle.

Was it easy for him to court his wife...

"Daddy, this is tasty." Sumrs handed Ethan a fish cake.

Ethan had never eaten such synthetic food before, he lowly educated Sumrs. "Street food is tasty, but you shouldn’t eat it often while growing up."

Ethan forced himself to swallow and not ntion the word "unhygienic."

"Stephen, why are you hiding behind your uncle? Co eat this." Yvette noticed Stephen Sinclair fearfully hiding, too scared to move.

Stephen didn’t dare to co out, he was afraid of Michelle.

Michelle also noticed Stephen. "Oh, who’s this tag-along?"

Stephen had been frightened by Michelle before, and now seeing her, he acted extrely obedient.

"Stephen is my good friend now." Sumrs actively explained.

After all, Stephen had bitten Harrison Sterling for him.

Michelle raised an eyebrow. "The kid is good, just hope the mother isn’t up to sothing."

Michelle was giving Ethan and Yvette a heads-up, to be cautious.

Once Stephen got familiar with Sumrs, it was easy for Sumrs to drop his guard. If Chelsea wanted to harm the kid...

Ethan hesitated, then nodded.

Expressing gratitude for Michelle’s reminder.

That aspect hadn’t crossed his mind.

But children... they are inherently innocent, and Yvette couldn’t bear to separate Sumrs and Stephen.

"I don’t, I won’t bully Sumrs anymore, we’re good friends now." Stephen explained softly.

"Oh, then sit down and eat." Michelle pointed to the spot next to Sumrs.

Stephen quietly and obediently went over to sit down, more compliant than a tad puppy.

Yvette had never seen Stephen so obedient before...

Indeed, one thing always overcos another.

...

Bell Family.

Ethan had caused a scene at a press conference, and now the Bell Family was facing a severe crisis.

Competitors seized the opportunity to wildly publicize the event, leaving the Bell Family surrounded by aggressors in an embarrassing position.

Though the Jennings Family hadn’t explicitly stated anything, when pressed by reporters at a conference, Henry Jennings alluded they would reassess the marriage alliance with the Bell Family.

Likely, they’re just waiting for the elder Jennings to nod.

In an instant, the Bell Family was left empty-handed.

Fortunately, the Bell Family still held leverage over Arthur Grant, enough to make him lend a hand to them.

"Miss, that person nad Zachary Carter couldn’t stir up trouble at the Grant Group and ended up beaten into the hospital." A subordinate reported to Wendy Bell over the phone.

Wendy was pale with anger. "Useless, he’s the young master of the Carter Family, who dares to hit him?"

"Rumor has it... it was Tom Ziegler, Ethan’s cousin."

Wendy was stunned for a mont; if it were Ethan, things would be easier to handle, but with Tom Ziegler, a notorious second-generation rich kid, it wouldn’t work...

"Make sure this news reaches the ears of the elder Jennings." Wendy said angrily, wondering why the elder Jennings hadn’t made a move yet.

Does he not believe these rumors?

It seems she needs to take drastic asures, and find another angle to approach Sumrs.
