Leaning against the car door, Michelle Lockwood looked over with a half-smile. "What a scene."
Caden Sumrs’ face was already dark. The man shouting and causing a scene at the kindergarten entrance was clearly here to stir up trouble.
"What’s your problem?" Caden walked over and lifted the man’s collar from behind.
The man glanced at Caden, initially wanting to get angry, but he wasn’t as tall as Caden, so he shrank back. "I’m Sumrs’ dad. Where’s Yvette Aston? She’s my woman. She was my girlfriend before she went to prison, and now that she’s out, she’s avoiding ?"
The man’s voice was loud, attracting everyone’s attention. The parents who ca to pick up their kids all took out their phones to start recording videos, posting them to class groups, social dia, and Weibo.
Once again, Yvette Aston was thrust into the spotlight.
"Why are you making a fuss?" Caden was a bit angry and wanted to shut the man up, but with so many caras pointed at them, he couldn’t resort to violence.
"You thinking of hitting ? I’m Yvette Aston’s man. I took care of her before she went to prison, and Sumrs is my son. Now she’s moved up in the world, clinging to Ethan Grant, planning to ditch !" The man pushed Caden away, shouting loudly.
"Where’s Yvette Aston? Tell her to co out!"
"If Yvette doesn’t co to see today, then I’m not leaving. Nobody leaves."
The man ca prepared, even bringing a banner.
Accusing Yvette of abandoning her husband and child.
Michelle Lockwood watched the scoundrel create a scene with interest, then looked at Caden, whose face was dark with anger but was helpless against the scoundrel.
Indeed, people who are too honest are easily bullied by scoundrels.
...
Grant Group.
Christopher Carter returned from outside and saw Eric Larson’s resignation application.
He was stunned for a mont, his jaw almost dropping. "Mr. Grant... how did Yvette Aston manage this? It’s amazing, truly amazing."
"Take a look at this." Ethan Grant opened the email, and the project departnt collectively submitted resignation applications. What does this an?
It’s a show of defiance against Ethan Grant.
"Has everyone in the project departnt gone crazy?" Christopher was a bit angry. "Mr. Grant, what should we do? If we really fire Eric Larson, wouldn’t it cause too much loss to the project departnt?"
"The Grant Group isn’t a place they can co and go as they please." Ethan Grant leaned back in his chair. "Have you prepared everything that Yvette requested?"
"Yes, we’ve got leverage on the ringleaders." Christopher nodded.
"Contact them privately. If they don’t withdraw their resignation applications by tomorrow, terminate them all."
Ethan Grant’s voice was low.
"Mr. Grant... how did Yvette manage this?" Christopher truly thought Yvette was amazing.
"It’s a form of manipulation and deceit. He thought I needed to win him over, believing the company couldn’t function properly without him, so he thought he could bind , using his resignation as leverage to get to agree to all his unreasonable demands." Ethan Grant sneered.
n either fall to greed or to won.
Eric Larson got caught by both.
Yvette Aston understood human nature too well.
No matter how much Eric Larson asked for, or how unreasonable it was, she agreed, except for the part involving his mistress, which she used to provoke him.
Losing face in front of a woman would definitely upset his mistress, and the more trouble his mistress caused, the more Eric Larson wanted to prove himself.
He thought threatening with resignation would lead Ethan Grant to compromise.
"Voluntarily resigning saves us a lot of trouble."
Ethan Grant spoke lightly, a smile playing at his lips.
That way, even if Arthur Grant stirred up trouble, it would be futile.
After all, it was Eric Larson who proposed to leave. What could he do about it?
Christopher was left stunned, giving Ethan Grant a thumbs up. "Mr. Grant, Yvette Aston has truly done a great job recently. If she hadn’t discovered your computer was hacked, our losses would have been huge. We should really reward her."
Ethan Grant raised an eyebrow, "Do I need you to tell ?"
"Mr. Grant, give her a bonus!" Christopher couldn’t read the room, persistently pushing for a bonus for Yvette.
"Are you too free?" Ethan Grant didn’t want to talk to Christopher.
"Mr. Grant, you can’t be stingy. Yvette has really done a great job this ti." Christopher continued to ramble, trying hard to show off in front of Yvette when she returned. "Mr. Grant, I think we should celebrate. If you’re not available, I’ll take Yvette out for a good al after work."
Yvette Aston returned from the HR departnt and heard Christopher offering to treat her to dinner. "No... no need, really."
She still needed to go ho and cook dinner for Mr. Grant.
"Why not? You’ve won a great battle this ti, I must take you out for a good al. Don’t worry, if Mr. Grant is stingy, I’ll use my salary to give you a bonus." Christopher walked to Yvette’s side, whispering and patting her shoulder.
Yvette nervously looked at Ethan Grant, stepping back to keep a distance from Christopher.
"Yvette, what would you like to eat?" Christopher continued to boast.
"No... no need." Yvette cautiously looked at Ethan Grant, his face already frighteningly dark.
"Of course there’s a need, let’s eat!" Christopher had already taken out his phone, ready to book a restaurant. "I know an amazing Japanese place, I’ll take you there after work."
"Unfortunately, you’re not getting off work today." Ethan Grant knocked on the table. "You have to work overti."
"Wh... why?" Christopher asked.
"Because I just agreed to Eric Larson’s resignation, so tonight you’ll have to work late to mobilize the rest of the project departnt." Ethan Grant said casually.
Christopher’s mouth twitched, feeling like Ethan Grant was a demon.
"Alright... let’s celebrate another day." Christopher didn’t forget to comfort Yvette.
Yvette took a deep breath, speaking quietly. "Mr. Grant, tomorrow morning, can we hold a farewell party for Eric Larson, the grander the better."
Christopher was shocked, giving Yvette a thumbs up. "Such a cunning move, impressive..."
Ethan Grant smiled. "Yes, very good idea."
A farewell party, a grand send-off for Eric Larson, could serve as a warning to Jayden Grant and lody Crowe, hoping they received the ssage.
So people were happy, so were not. Christopher, who had to work overti, walked away with a gloomy face.
"Mr. Grant..." Yvette was a little scared. "Will Jayden Grant and lody Crowe lash out?"
"Mad dogs only jump out to bite people; we have every right to defend ourselves." Ethan Grant said with deep aning.
Yvette took a deep breath and nodded. "The next one to deal with is Secretary Ziegler."
Ethan Grant looked at Yvette aningfully; she walked her path steadily.
What to do... the more he saw her, the more he liked her.
"Let’s go pick up Sumrs." Ethan Grant shut down the computer and took Yvette’s hand to leave.
"But... today my brother is picking up Sumrs." Yvette was montarily stunned.
"Weren’t we going to celebrate? We’ll have dinner with Sumrs and then send him back to Caden’s place." Ethan Grant raised an eyebrow. "Celebrate our seamless cooperation, perfect teamwork?"
Yvette blushed, nodding. "Sure..."
Although it was a bit early to celebrate now, the crisis wasn’t resolved and was actually more intense.
But Yvette... was greedy.
Greedy enough to want to be alone with Sumrs and Ethan Grant.
