Reaching out to pick up her chopsticks, Yvette Aston stayed silent for a long ti, tense.

She hesitated before speaking. "N... not good."

Ethan Grant stood up and got Yvette a clean set of chopsticks. "Don’t overthink it."

Yvette said it wasn’t good, rather than saying it was impossible.

"Mr. Grant, don’t stand against Henry Jennings. He is the president of Apex, and the cooperation between Grant Group and Apex is too close, and all major collaborations are mutually beneficial and win-win. Prosperity or decline is shared by both." Yvette knew Ethan Grant understood this better than she did.

But she said it anyway.

Ethan Grant remained silent, weighing the pros and cons himself.

The company’s interests were indeed above all else, and his current situation was equally precarious.

However, in comparison, the choice still depended on which was more important.

Ethan Grant never thought of himself as an emotional person.

In the past, everyone around him said he was too rational, to the point of being cold-blooded.

But now, he even felt sothing was off about himself, very off.

Having a bite of noodles, Yvette changed the subject. "About the investnt departnt’s Eric Larson matter, has Mr. Grant made any prior arrangents?"

"During the days in Solara, there will be internal company etings about the selection for the vice president position," Ethan Grant nodded and pushed the tablet in front of Yvette.

"Currently, based on the voting results, Eric Larson is leading." Yvette frowned, as this was unfavorable for subsequent actions. "The company thrives on a wolf culture and competition, and as lody Crowe’s trump card, Eric Larson is naturally determined to get the vice president position."

The company currently has four vice presidents, one of whom is Ethan Grant’s person, two chosen by Arthur Grant, and if the last one is replaced by soone from lody Crowe, Ethan Grant would beco very passive.

Over the years, Ethan Grant’s contributions of benefits and value to the company were evident, and the company should rightfully belong to him.

Unfortunately, Arthur Grant wasn’t a good father.

"What do you think?" Ethan Grant looked at Yvette.

"Is this person nad Cole Aldridge one of yours?" Yvette asked.

Cole Aldridge was in second place but was far behind Eric Larson.

"Yes." Ethan Grant nodded.

Yvette was smart, able to see the current internal situation of the company.

"The two have a vote difference of thirty-four. Although the final decision is the president’s, if the difference is too large, your actions might be too obvious, causing..." public outrage in the company.

"As for the votes, Christopher Carter can manipulate them in the background a bit." Ethan Grant reassured Yvette that in three days, Cole Aldridge’s votes would surpass Eric Larson’s.

"When the votes are close, we’ll just wait for him to make a mistake." Yvette thought for a mont and spoke softly. "Eric Larson’s high vote count surely ans he’s garnering votes in secret. Privately, the company’s evaluation of him is high, and he’s probably being propped up, thinking you wouldn’t dare defy the public opinion of the company and would go along with his wishes."

Kill with kindness.

"Tomorrow, Christopher and I will approach him and express your intention to win him over secretly, promoting his abilities within the company, making everyone believe he’s the popular choice, and making him feel you can’t defy public opinion to choose soone else, which would be disadvantageous to you."

Yvette requested Ethan Grant to cooperate.

Ethan Grant smiled and nodded. "Where did you learn all these strategies?"

"Just... psychology and the Art of War," Yvette stamred, flustered.

"Indeed... taking down a person internally while elevating them to a point where their morals don’t match their position, then striking when issues arise," Ethan Grant nodded. "But managing this deftly tests your capability."

Yvette bit her lip. "Rest assured, I can do it."

Fearing Ethan Grant’s lack of confidence in her, Yvette spoke again. "I really... can do it."

"Among the higher-ups, if you solve this Eric Larson issue, you’ll be a key contributor." Ethan Grant smiled deeply. "You might want to think about what kind of reward you’d like."

Allowing Yvette to consider a reward in advance was his way of showing unconditional trust in her.

Yvette blushed, lowering her head as she ate. "No... no need, it’s what I should, should do."

For the first ti, Ethan Grant finished an entire bowl of noodles, and normally he was so disciplined it was scary, never eating so many carbs late at night.

But ever since Yvette appeared, he found... she could break all his taboos.

This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, instead giving him a sense of novelty.

He wondered how far he could go.

...

The Nightfall Club was bustling under the starry night, an upscale venue.

Henry Jennings had drunk quite a bit, and his face was unpleasant.

"President Jennings, what’s gotten to you?" a friend humorously teased.

Henry Jennings said nothing. When Jayden Grant arrived, he gestured for everyone else to leave.

Sensing sothing was off, the others stood up and left.

"President Jennings, you wanted to see ?" Jayden Grant frowned, sitting to the side.

"I hear there’s a competition for the vice president position within the Grant Group?" Henry Jennings asked casually.

"President Jennings seems quite interested in our Grant Group," Jayden Grant was sowhat guarded.

"Heh..." Henry Jennings leaned back on the sofa, observing Jayden Grant. "As another father, the gap between you and your brother is vast. Should I say you’re foolish or simply naïve?"

Jayden Grant’s expression grew darker. "What exactly do you want, President Jennings?"

"Apex’s cooperation with Grant Group doesn’t necessarily have to be with Ethan Grant. Whoever is in a high position, we will cooperate with," Henry Jennings hinted aningfully to Jayden Grant.

"Hasn’t President Jennings always looked down on ?" Jayden Grant wasn’t foolish; he understood Henry Jennings’ implication.

"Looking down on you doesn’t an you’re not a good partner," Henry Jennings spoke faintly, lifting his glass. "I can help you get everything you want."

"Would President Jennings be so kind?" Jayden Grant viewed Henry Jennings with skepticism, questioning his intentions.

"I need an obedient partner, not a competitor like Ethan Grant, constantly clashing with ," Henry Jennings tapped his glass lightly. "Finding a way to push Yvette Aston away from Ethan Grant should be simple for you, right?"

Jayden Grant frowned. "President Jennings, after all these years, you’re still not over Yvette Aston."

"Yvette is the woman I’ve set my sights on; she can only be mine," Henry Jennings displayed his intense possessiveness.

"Six years ago, you put quite an effort into taking her away from ." Jayden Grant’s fingers slowly clenched. "But you and the Bell Family are in an arranged marriage. Even if you don’t marry Claudia Bell, there will be another arranged partner. You can’t give Yvette any official status."

"Except for a title, I can give her everything she desires," Henry Jennings’ voice was low.

"My brother isn’t the type to prioritize a woman. Right now, he’s just using Yvette to show off to my father and mother. There’s no need to push; Yvette will soon lose value to Ethan Grant," Jayden Grant scoffed.

In his opinion, Ethan Grant wouldn’t be interested in Yvette for long.

Yvette would be discarded by Ethan Grant as if she were trash.

"I don’t have that much patience, just as your mother doesn’t have patience to wait, either," Henry Jennings reminded Jayden Grant.

"Driving Yvette away... there are many ways." Jayden Grant frowned, clenching his fingers.

He now needed Henry Jennings to help him stabilize his position within Grant Group.
