Yvette Aston’s back tensed, turning to look at Ethan.
Hearing such harsh words without profanity from Ethan’s mouth was indeed quite shocking.
Moreover... it was the first ti she’d seen such a roguish side of Ethan, so handso that one couldn’t look away.
Ethan always gave the fixed impression of a domineering CEO—cold, mature, steady, lofty, like an intangible existence.
But now, for the first ti, Yvette felt... like she had soone backing her up.
It felt as though her deity was standing right behind her.
Jayden tightened his grip, speaking in a lowered voice. "Brother, this is my family’s matter."
"What a coincidence, it’s my family’s matter too." Ethan stood up straight, glancing at Charlotte Sumrs. "A missing twenty years of education doesn’t matter; conscience is in the bones. Any normal person should know that this is a company, a workplace, not your ho where you can act wildly at will."
Ethan’s overwhelming presence made Charlotte unable to cry or make a fuss, standing there in panic.
Jayden walked over to shield Charlotte. "Brother, she’s my fiancée. You have no idea what she’s been through, so you have no right to talk about her."
"She’s mine, and it’s not your place to speak on it." Ethan stepped in front of Jayden. "Control your woman. A missing kidney isn’t fatal, but having no brains and being used can be tragic."
Ethan could tell without guessing that soone was deliberately provoking Charlotte.
Charlotte is thoughtless, too easily used as a tool by others.
"Young Master Jayden, Miss Sumrs, this is a company. Your behavior is indeed excessive. Even if it gets back to Mr. Grant... it’s inappropriate." Christopher Carter stepped forward, signaling Charlotte and Jayden to leave.
Charlotte hid behind Jayden, unwillingly staring at Yvette.
Why, why does Ethan protect her like this!
"Did Ethan say Yvette is your person? Have you slept together? But she’s Jayden’s fiancée. Do you think it’s appropriate? It wouldn’t sound good if it got out, right?" Charlotte cald down, her words taunting, deliberately speaking for the company’s people to hear. "And isn’t Tom Ziegler your cousin? Among the few friends playing with him, Troy Carter and Chris Aldridge have both slept with Yvette. Doesn’t Ethan think that’s dirty?"
Yvette, breathing rapidly, looked at Ethan, her eyes reddening, wanting to explain.
For the first ti, desperately wanting to explain.
Before eting Ethan, it didn’t matter how much Charlotte and the others slandered her. She didn’t care, or bother to explain, letting them say as they pleased.
But in front of Ethan, she panicked, she wanted to explain, she didn’t want Ethan to dislike her, to think of her as filthy.
But as desperately as she wanted to speak, she couldn’t utter a word.
Jayden tightened his fingers, looking at Yvette with disgust.
He must have been out of his mind to rush back to Grant Group out of concern for her.
It seems she and Ethan already had an unusual relationship; otherwise, why would Ethan protect her like that?
"When did this happen? It seems like Miss Sumrs is an eyewitness." Ethan cast a glance at Christopher. "Quickly call the police. Tell them Charlotte Sumrs is an eyewitness to Yvette’s victimization, and she knows the perpetrators."
"Also, report the people Charlotte ntioned, who else besides Tom Ziegler? Let the police investigate." Ethan spoke calmly.
"Charlotte..." Stellan Aston took a deep breath, grabbed Charlotte’s arm, intending to take her away.
With Charlotte’s mind, she was certainly no match for Ethan.
The three siblings plus Jayden were no match for Ethan.
"Let’s go."
"We can’t leave now." Ethan extended his hand. "Everyone here in the company heard what Charlotte Sumrs said, right?"
Ethan glanced at the company employees.
Everyone was tense, nodding quickly. "Mr. Grant, we all heard. She said it was Tom Ziegler and a few others."
"Good, call the police." Ethan checked the ti. "I still have ti to seek justice for my assistant."
Christopher pulled out his phone to call the police.
"Ethan..." Charlotte panicked, nervously stepping forward to stop Christopher.
"What’s the matter, Miss Sumrs?" Christopher stepped back. "Didn’t you witness it firsthand?"
"I... I just heard it was consensual!" Charlotte bit the corner of her lip, looking at Yvette with hatred.
Yvette stood numbly behind Ethan, her head down, tears falling to the ground.
Her reputation was already ruined; she didn’t care about it getting worse.
But Ethan... he was doing this to help her.
The dignified president of Grant Group had no need to get involved in this ss or deal with such trivial trouble, but he did.
What she owed him seed impossible to repay.
"Was it consensual?" Ethan turned around and saw Yvette crying, feeling an inexplicable pain in his heart.
His face darkened as Ethan frowned, the veins on his hand standing out.
How did she survive all these years?
Yvette couldn’t make a sound. She could only shake her head.
No, no, it wasn’t.
"See, Miss Yvette didn’t consent, so Miss Sumrs, you’re an eyewitness. This is crucial for the police investigation. I’ve already contacted Tom Ziegler and the others you ntioned, telling them to turn themselves in and wait for the police." Christopher went aside to make a call and returned to look at Charlotte. "Miss Sumrs is kind-hearted. With so many people watching, you bravely exposed those scums."
"Christopher!" Jayden warned, pointing at Christopher.
Christopher shrugged. "Nobody leave. It’s lunch break anyway. Everyone stay and be a witness."
Christopher called the company people to watch the show.
Charlotte looked anxiously at Stellan, wanting to leave for help.
"Mr. Grant, my sister’s health is not good..." Stellan hoped Ethan would let Charlotte go.
"Health not good? She sounded pretty energetic shouting outside just now." Ethan coldly refused. "Cooperating with the investigation is a duty of law-abiding citizens. Making false accusations is also illegal. If what Charlotte Sumrs said is false, the surveillance has recordings, and Tom Ziegler and the others can sue Charlotte Sumrs. After all, the nature of rape is very serious."
In less than half an hour, Tom Ziegler and his few buddies rushed in frantically, their hearts nearly jumping out.
"Jayden..." Charlotte sobbed, clinging to Jayden’s arm tightly.
Jayden frowned, softly reassuring her. "It’s okay, I’m here."
"Charlotte Sumrs, what nonsense are you spouting? What rumors are you spreading?" Tom Ziegler, flustered, with a slap mark on his face. "Look! My mom hit !"
Ethan didn’t laugh.
But the crowd watching the spectacle laughed, and Christopher laughed too.
"What are you laughing at? It’s all your fault. What nonsense did you tell my mom?" Tom Ziegler pointed at Christopher angrily, turning back to shiver at Ethan. "Brother! I’m innocent! I haven’t even touched Yvette’s hand!"
"..." The people following Tom Ziegler turned even paler. "Ethan, we aren’t familiar with Yvette, really not."
"So, Charlotte Sumrs is making false accusations?" Ethan raised an eyebrow, asking.
"Yes, yes! She’s spreading rumors about this. We’re entirely innocent." They quickly nodded.
"Well, this matter has reached your parents. It might not be easily resolved. If you want to refute the rumors, report to the police that she’s spreading rumors." Christopher looked apologetically.
Christopher had notified the families of the young n.
As he finished speaking, the young n’s phones started ringing incessantly.
Most of them had, to so extent, bullied Yvette or spread dirty rumors.
This ti, Ethan was taking asures to correct them.
"Jayden, your woman ca to the company spreading rumors, severely damaging the image of the president’s assistant, and causing imasurable loss to the company. How should it be resolved?" Ethan looked at Jayden, asking him to co up with a solution himself.
"Brother..." Jayden had a headache, aware the fault lay with Charlotte Sumrs this ti.
"Apologize." Ethan looked at Jayden with an overwhelming aura.
If Charlotte Sumrs didn’t publicly apologize to Yvette today, she’d bear the consequences.
