The mont Kael landed in the middle of the enemy group, chaos broke loose.

Five guards rushed at him from different angles. One ca swinging an axe, another jabbed with a spear, while the rest surrounded him with short swords and rifles aid. Kael didn't hesitate.

He spun to his right, ducking under the swinging axe, and slashed upward—his blade tore through the man's chest with ease, blood spraying in an arc that painted the snow red. The body fell with a heavy thud.

The spear ca next, thrusting straight at his ribs. Kael sidestepped, grabbed the shaft, and yanked the guard forward. As the man stumbled, Kael ramd his knee into the man's face, breaking his nose. He then brought his sword down on the man's neck, slicing halfway through. The guard twitched, gurgling on his blood, then collapsed.

Another guard scread and slashed at Kael's back. Kael twisted mid-step, using the dead body like a shield. The blade sank into flesh, but not his. Kael pushed the corpse forward, crashing it into the attacker's face, then followed with a horizontal slash that cleaved the man across the torso. Blood splashed out in waves, warm and thick, soaking Kael's boots.

"Monster! He's killing everyone!" one shouted and backed away, trying to shoot. But Kael was already there, moving like a blur, his sword glowing with an aura. He brought it down in a diagonal arc. The man's head flew off cleanly, spinning in the air before landing in the snow.

In the midst, two riflen pulled out a crossbow and fired.

A volley of arrows flew toward him from a ridge. Kael dashed sideways, snow spraying under his feet. He was only able to react due to the slicing whistling sound.

One arrow grazed his arm, drawing blood.

"Are these guys idiots? Just because the Queen ordered them to shoot the rifleman, you just stuck on them."Kael cursed the Ice Elves while gritting his teeth, then pointed his sword and sent out a sharp wave of energy.

It sliced through the air and into the ridge, cutting down two archers. They scread, tumbling down with blood trailing behind them like ribbons.

Two more charged him, swords raised and shouting war cries. One went low, swinging for his legs, while the other tried to stab his gut.

Kael jumped, spinning mid-air, his cloak fluttering as he landed behind them. Before they could turn, he thrust his blade into one's spine, then kicked the other in the back of the knee. As the second man fell, Kael brought his sword down like a guillotine. The scream was short—cut off by the blade splitting his skull.

Blood soaked the snow, turning it into a muddy red ss. Limbs lay scattered. So n scread, crawling without legs, others sobbed, begging for rcy.

"This… this isn't human!" one man cried, vomiting as he tried to flee.

Kael's face was calm behind the mask, but his eyes glead with a cold fire. "You ca here to kill. Don't cry now," he said, before throwing a knife straight into the fleeing man's back. The man fell face-first into the snow, coughing blood.

Suddenly, a loud bang echoed. A sniper bullet cut through the air. Kael's eyes snapped up. Before it could hit him, an ice wall erupted from the ground.

BOOM!

The bullet shattered the wall, sending ice shards everywhere, but Kael remained unhard. He glanced at the bracelet on his wrist—the Queen's gift still glowing faintly.

"It works well…" he muttered.

He turned toward the shooter, who now quivered behind a tree, hands shaking as he tried to reload. Kael dashed forward again, his boots gliding over the snow without sound. The shooter dropped the rifle and ran.

"No! Don't kill ! Please!!" he scread.

Kael didn't stop. He caught the man by the shoulder, pulled him close, and ramd his blade into his chest. The man gasped, blood pouring from his mouth. Kael whispered coldly, "Too late."

Nearby, Mira watched in horror. Her hands trembled as she gripped the signal device.

"No… they can't defeat him…" she whispered.

The man beside her stuttered, "He… he's hacking them into pieces…"

Mira bit her lip. "We need to leave."

As she turned, the man grabbed her. "Don't leave ! Please!"

The man stumbled behind Mira, panting hard as he tried to keep up. His face was drenched in sweat, eyes wide and darting around like a cornered rat. Every now and then, he would whimper or flinch at the sounds of fighting echoing in the distance.

"This is your fault!" he suddenly shouted, grabbing her cloak. "I shouldn't have even been here! I told them I'm not made for this! I'm just a scout, damn it!"

Mira didn't answer, eyes scanning the terrain ahead for an escape route.

"You better get out of here!" he yelled again, voice cracking. "I have a wife! A son! I was promised I wouldn't be on the frontlines!"

Mira's eyes twitched. She gave him a side glance, clearly irritated. "Let go."

But he wasn't finished as he kept babbling due to the onslaught of panic. "I gave you people intel! I smuggled maps! I did everything! You owe !"

He paced in front of her, waving his arms, panicking. "If you don't take with you, I swear—I'll surrender! I'll go right to them and tell everything! Nas, places, locations! Don't think I won't!"

Mira froze.

He kept yelling, "You think I'm joking? They'll protect ! I'll tell them about the tunnels, the northern outpost, the encrypted channels! I'll spill every damn thing if you leave here!"

Mira turned her head slowly toward him, eyes glowing faintly red beneath her hood.

"You're not built for war," she muttered, "but you've made yourself a threat."

The man took a step back, suddenly realizing the tone in her voice. "W-Wait… I didn't an—"

Mira raised her hand. Her fingers trembled slightly—more from irritation than fear.

"I don't have ti for this," she said coldly.

She stepped forward.

"You were useful," she added, voice low and sharp. "But now you're just noise."

His scream echoed through the forest as a burst of fla lit up behind the trees.

Mira's eyes turned sharp. "I don't have ti to babysit you when I'm about to die."

She kicked him away, pulled out a fire artifact, and tried to escape—but the man lunged at her again.

"Just DIEEEE!" he shrieked.

Her crimson eyes glowed. Flas exploded around her.

BOOOOOM!

Fire swallowed the forest edge, consuming everything in a blast. Trees cracked. Snow turned to steam.

Kael shielded his face, eyes narrowing at the sudden inferno.

"What now…" he muttered, stepping back, the scent of blood and burning flesh mixing in the cold air.
