Qianling Temple’s back mountain, Purple Bamboo Forest
This is also the forbidden area of Qianling Temple.
Usually, only a few people such as the abbot of Qianling Temple can enter.
However, this ti, behind Abbot Guanglin, there were a few more people, naly Su Ming, Shen ngxue, and Bai Mo.
Looking at the dense Purple Bamboo Forest, Su Ming and the others couldn’t help but express their amazent.
"This Purple Bamboo Forest has survived for over a thousand years, enduring the trials of war, yet remains so vibrant. Moreover, whether it is winter or sumr, it always feels like spring here."
Indeed, when Su Ming first entered, he imdiately felt a refreshing coolness.
Completely devoid of the sumr heat from outside.
Soon, Su Ming and the others arrived outside a cottage courtyard.
"In the yard, they’re actually planting Water Lowering Its Head!"
Upon seeing the plants in the yard, Bai Mo suddenly let out a scream, speeding up his steps.
However, just as he was about to reach the fence, a figure darted out from inside the cottage.
Bai Mo couldn’t evade in ti and was hit squarely on the chest by the figure.
Afterward, the person did not stop, moving swiftly to follow Bai Mo’s flying speed.
Using force again, he directly pinned Bai Mo to the ground.
"Buddhist Sect forbidden area, no trespassing allowed!"
With his face showing pain, Bai Mo wanted to explain but found he could not even speak.
He looked at the figure, which belonged to a rugged-looking old monk.
The old monk’s robe was worn out yet washed very clean.
Especially on his hand, the veins were like green snakes.
Bai Mo could clearly feel the monk’s strength was incomparably strong, beyond his own by miles.
At this ti, Abbot Guanglin and the others walked over.
"Brother, these are disciples who passed the test, sorry for the disturbance, please forgive us."
Upon seeing Abbot Guanglin, the old monk let go of his hold.
As the hand was loosened, Bai Mo found breathing much smoother.
He stood up and respectfully saluted the old monk with hands joined.
"Passed the test? For over fifty years, I haven’t seen anyone pass the test."
Abbot Guanglin smiled slightly and turned to look at Su Ming and the others.
"This is the guardian of Water Lowering Its Head and the master of this Purple Bamboo Forest, my senior brother, nad Monk Guangzhi."
"Master Guangzhi."
Su Ming and Shen ngxue simultaneously bowed to Monk Guangzhi.
Seeing the trio so polite, Monk Guangzhi seed a bit embarrassed.
"Earlier, I was too hasty, co in now."
With that, Monk Guangzhi led them inside the courtyard.
The small yard was not large, and all the land was planted with Water Lowering Its Head.
"Unexpectedly, there are so many Water Lowering Its Head plants, my goodness, these are priceless outside."
Bai Mo squatted by the rows of Water Lowering Its Head, even considering taking them all.
But intimidated by Monk Guangzhi’s overwhelming power, he could only bury that thought.
"Water Lowering Its Head can’t be planted just anywhere; it requires specific water sources, sunlight, temperatures, etc., costing decades of effort."
As he spoke, Monk Guangzhi also sat down, looking at Su Ming and Shen ngxue.
"I didn’t expect you to pass the Four Frenzies Array."
Su Ming was sowhat surprised upon hearing this.
"Master, how do you know I passed the Four Frenzies Array?"
"Once triggered, lust, greed, wealth, and desires don’t imdiately return inside but linger around you. However, managing to maintain your true self amid these temptations is impressive."
Talking, Monk Guangzhi stood up.
"Young man, what is your na?"
"My na is Su Ming."
Su Ming replied honestly.
Monk Guangzhi nodded and continued: "Alright, Su Ming. My na is Monk Guangzhi, as previously introduced—I’m my abbot brother’s senior. If you don’t mind, you can take as your master, henceforth becoming my disciple."
"Being my disciple, many would give you face in Dragon Country."
Upon hearing this, even Abbot Guanglin was slightly surprised with his mouth slightly open.
"Brother, it’s been a long ti since you accepted disciples."
He vaguely recalled the last ti his brother took on a disciple was over thirty years ago.
"We connected instantly; I genuinely like him. So, what do you think? Will you consider it?"
Being asked, Su Ming awkwardly scratched his head.
"But, Master Guangzhi, I..."
Seeming to know what Su Ming wanted to say, Monk Guangzhi waved his hand.
"Rest assured, I don’t have many rules here. As my disciple, you don’t need to stay by my side all day or shave your head. You can be my secular disciple and won’t affect marrying or having children."
"Moreover, if you wish to follow other masters in the future, that’s fine by . If they disagree with you having two masters, that’s their issue, not mine."
"However, in Dragon Country, knowing you’re my disciple, no one would dare compete with ."
His words were imposing and impressive, making the few curious about Monk Guangzhi’s youthful exploits.
Relieved upon hearing this, Su Ming was pleased.
He feared being made a disciple and having to sever personal ties.
Then, Su Ming looked at Shen ngxue, who nodded in response.
With her approval, Su Ming was about to kneel.
"Master, please accept disciple’s bow."
Just as he was about to kneel, Monk Guangzhi unexpectedly appeared before Su Ming.
With just a single finger, he supported Su Ming, preventing him from kneeling.
"I don’t have many rules here. As you’ve agreed to be my disciple, I must present a gift."
With that, Monk Guangzhi took out a token from his robe.
"In my youth, I had many disciples, including secular ones, who now live amongst regular society. With this, they will assist you; if not, just let know, and I’ll deal with them."
Looking at the token in hand, Su Ming wasn’t much concerned.
After all, so many years have passed; whether anyone recognizes the token is uncertain.
Even so, Su Ming was truly touched.
Later, Monk Guangzhi took Su Ming aside to discuss unknown matters.
anwhile, Shen ngxue engaged in discussing Buddhist teachings with Abbot Guanglin.
As for Bai Mo, he remained imrsed in the joy of discovering Water Lowering Its Head.
Seeing no one around, he secretly tasted so.
Not until evening did they finally leave Qianling Temple.
In Su Ming’s arms, there lay three Water Lowering Its Head plants, quietly glowing blue.
