"You can’t bla the school entirely. I joined a lab and am now the professor’s assistant, so I can’t stay in the country for too long," Bai Tu explained with a smile.
After a pause, Bai Tu continued, "I heard your Cloud Top Paradise club is doing well in business. How much net profit did you make last year?"
"Last year, we had a net profit of more than 40 million," Lin Yanan revealed without hesitation.
"Over 40 million, that’s impressive! I bet so smaller listed companies don’t have that much net profit," Bai Tu praised loudly, a hint of greed flashing in his eyes.
"You’re overestimating . I’m not as capable as you, getting admitted to a prestigious foreign university," Lin Yanan said modestly.
"Well, I can make at least a small fortune with investnts abroad. It’s a pity I never had the ti," Bai Tu shifted the topic to investnts.
"Can you really make that much?" Lin Yanan imdiately showed interest.
"Of course, if you manage investnt funds well, earning a few small fortunes a year is quite easy. A classmate’s dad made six small fortunes last year, and that’s in US Dollar!" Bai Tu exclaid.
"Oh, it seems hedge funds are really profitable," Lin Yanan remarked genuinely impressed.
Then Bai Tu began to share various funny stories and jokes, making Lin Yanan laugh heartily.
While driving, Su Ming couldn’t help but admire Bai Tu’s flirting skills.
Guys like him are basically punks, only that his hair isn’t dyed blonde.
And the biggest skill of punks is being able to stir won’s emotions, making them fall in love.
Soon, the car arrived at Yunlong Grand Restaurant.
It’s one of Longcheng’s high-end restaurants, with an average spending of over a thousand per person.
Su Ming really didn’t want to see Bai Tu, feeling that he wasn’t pleasing at all, so he didn’t get out of the car.
Unexpectedly, Lin Yanan said, "Su Ming, co in for dinner?"
"I’m not going, you guys go ahead. I don’t want to be a third wheel," Su Ming replied directly.
"I said co in and eat together, or I’ll dock your pay," Lin Yanan insisted.
Su Ming had just been docked 2,000, and didn’t want to lose more money, so he said, "Fine, fine, if you want to eat together, I’ll eat together."
And so the three entered the reserved private dining room.
Shortly after, various large dishes were served, and Lin Yanan specially ordered two bottles of Maotai.
Stir-fried Australian lobster; Stead king crab; Iberian ham slices; Black truffle with beef steak; Premium caviar...
These dishes along with the two bottles of Maotai could match Su Ming’s monthly salary.
Life is like that—working hard for a month, the money earned is just the al expense of wealthy people!
The group didn’t hold back, indulging in eating and drinking.
Bai Tu looked at Su Ming with a sly smile, "Your na is Su Ming, right? How old are you this year?"
"Twenty-three," Su Ming replied directly.
"So young, why be a driver? You should be studying in college, knowing that education is a stepping stone. Without it, you can’t find a good job. Being a driver is akin to being a sedan chair carrier in ancient tis—one of the lowest professions," Bai Tu said arrogantly, with a smug expression.
Lin Yanan casually replied, "There are many paths to success. High education doesn’t guarantee it."
Bai Tu continued, "Indeed, there are people with low education who succeed, but they are rare, one in ten thousand, whereas people with higher education are more likely to succeed!"
At this point, Bai Tu looked at Su Ming and said, "I feel sorry for you, so young yet being a sedan chair carrier."
Su Ming’s face darkened, about to retort when his phone rang suddenly.
It was a call from the boss’s wife.
He said directly, "Let take a call," and stepped out.
Lin Yanan’s face turned serious as she confronted Bai Tu, "Why did you insult Su Ming, call him a sedan chair carrier, and say he has no education? What are you trying to do?"
Bai Tu laughed, "I’m doing it for his own good, being my sedan chair carrier at such a young age is a waste."
"What good does that do? He can’t possibly go back to school. You’re hurting his pride, don’t you know?" Lin Yanan said earnestly.
"Are you his girlfriend or mine? Why are you speaking for him? When I t you, I sensed sothing was off. Not even willing to let hug you. Are you afraid of displeasing that lousy driver?" Bai Tu’s true nature showed, with profanity slipping out.
"Nonsense!" Lin Yanan was imdiately angered.
But she still said, "You’ve been studying abroad for five years. I’ve always wanted you back. Why don’t you co back?"
"Don’t talk any crap with . I asked why you let Su Ming be your driver. Is it just because he’s handso? You being alone with him in the car, do you think it’s appropriate?" Bai Tu raised his voice.
"I told you, he was introduced by ngxue," Lin Yanan tried to explain patiently.
"Well, Shen ngxue is no good either! I could tell she’s pretentious on the surface but internally a slut," Bai Tu shouted louder.
"Don’t go too far," Lin Yanan said angrily, with authority in her tone.
Seeing this, Bai Tu quickly said, "I didn’t an to be harsh. I’m just jealous. I don’t want a man driving you every day. Don’t be mad, okay?"
Punks like Bai Tu have a way with won, making them angry first and then appeasing them, bringing emotional swings that easily make won feel it’s love!
