A month after the halls completed, the Inn had beco a common topic in Lotus Town and an increasingly commonly heard thing in nearby areas. For places that commonly interacted with adventurers, it had even beco a household na.
It would appear in everyday conversations.
"Oh, are you going to the Inn tomorrow!? Let co! I need to gather cores again!"
"Are you luring 3 fortified level monsters to again?"
"If I gather 10 fortified cores before you in a day, treat in the bathhouse!"
"Did soone reserve a barrier spot? I want IN!"
"I learned a long-ranged skill specifically so I can shoot monsters down from inside the shield!"
These types of conversations could now be heard here and there, causing people who were not updated to either be confused or cynical.
After all, a lot of the things were so far-fetched that people who had not been there absolutely didn’t believe it.
"Eh...a bathhouse in the danger zone? What have you been eating?"
"Flying folded paper? Flying by itself for hundreds of kiloters. Heh—"
"What a large permanent barrier? Heh, if there was, that place would’ve been famous ages ago!"
"Essence food for a few gold? More delicious than the food from the Premier Restaurant?"
"PFFF! Delicious food appearing out of nowhere? Have we been starving you!?"
And so on.
Among those who had been there, on the other hand, were excited about another thing. For one, the communication center’s use had spread out!
People had travelled towns over, and had proven that the ssage could really reach them, and within a day, too!
The origami could also reply once, and the cost was included when the sender used it. This was an amazing thing. Even those who weren’t planning on going and hunting in the Danger Zone would go here just to get registered, so people could send them ssages as needed.
The two children, Athie and Lily, were very, very popular mascots along with Pang. The three mascots were doted on, especially by the girls.
For Pang, there was no day when he wasn’t resting on soone’s lap, his chubby back massaged or kneaded.
Athie and Lily were also very well loved, especially when they were amazed to find out that they were both mages! It was so rare to see such young but competent mages.
So of their fans were not just the won with maternal instincts, but also adventurers and rcenaries who hoped to recruit them when they grew up.
Each one did not lack in telling cool and exciting stories about the life of an adventurer/rcenary.
"Live the life of adventures and fulfillnt!" Adventurers would say, and a rcenary would cut them off.
"Live a lavish life you deserve!"
"What’s the use of living a boring life within the safe zone?!"
"What’s the use of risking your life for a bit of money that—if you’re capable—can be earned in the safe zone?!"
"Heh, you say it as if you’re an honest rchant!"
While others started arguing, they did not forget to try to plant so ’good ideas’ in the children’s heads. "A true powerhouse is one who always goes out and empowers themselves," a wise adventurer gently said.
A rcenary shook his head. "A true, powerful individual is one who can enrich himself while remaining stronger than others!"
The attention could understandably confuse the two babies.
Finn laughed, and he patted the two kids’ heads. "Ignore them," he said. "Just stay with brother."
The two’s eyes beca clearer, and then they sparkled. "Okay!"
...
Days passed, and the Inn just grew more and more popular. Of course, with the growing number of custors, there was also a growing number of bad apples.
With the size of the place and the density of the people, he had worried that Pang wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Who would think that this little fluffball could literally slap people away to different parts of the territory?
Well, a lot of people learned this the hard way.
And more still to co.
Interestingly, the Lotus town Lord also ca by at so point. He brought his family with him.
The Inn, when the road was completed, beca closely related to the Town. Many safe zone territories that had heard of the Inn were likely to pass through Lotus Town, also raising its economy.
Within a month of its completion, it beca a part of Lotus Town. How could the Lord not notice? Rather, he had been aning to see for a while, and so rcenary teams who had gone before were sent by him.
One team happened to be there when the clinic and the communication center were built.
The more he heard, the more disbelieving he was, and he could no longer stay in his office. Thus, here he was.
His wife and child even ca along. To be honest, he really didn’t want to bring them, but what could he do?
The family arrived by carriage, and they were shocked by how smooth the trip was when using the road. Those few gold was indeed worth the price!
Speaking of this, a lot of people soon discovered this as well, prompting Finn to add a few [Stables] at the side for the equines.
"Milord," Finn greeted with a smile, looking at him, and wondering whether he could recognize him.
This was just pure curiosity, though. Regardless of whether or not he was recognized, he did not mind. He did not do anything untoward to the Lord and his conscience was clear, so it didn’t really matter.
The Lord politely greeted him as well, obviously not recognizing him as the limping mystery cook who appeared out of nowhere. This made Finn a little bit smug and proud of his makeup skills.
He also greeted his wife and child, but while polite, they had a much more arrogant air around them, as if they looked down at everyone.
He heard a bit about them during his stay in Lotus Town. She was not only the daughter of the rcenary branch head of Lotus Town, but was also the direct niece of the rcenary Guild Master himself, and her maternal family also lived in the capital. She probably looked down on everyone living in the ’backwater’.
Finn sighed. Hopefully, there would be no conflicts.
