This is bad… this is really bad… way worse than I was anticipating. I was expecting a big unstoppable demon… but all these creatures… fuck.

Chloe: “Tristan, get bunny boy to the graveyard.”

Tristan: “On it.”

Chloe: “Lucas, head to all of the farms on the outskirts of town. Tell them to head for the safe zones. We can’t protect them if they are outside of the city walls.”

Lucas: “Understood.”

Chloe: “Bobby, with . We need to get back to town as quickly as possible and sound the warning bell.”

Robert: “Righto.”

Tristan headed off to the south west, in the direction of the graveyard. Kin’Ayesha and I didn’t have our own horses, so I was sharing with Chloe and he was sharing with Tristan. Kin’Ayesha looked back at us as he rode off. I wish I knew what he was thinking. I don’t trust the guy… at all… but surely… given the circumstances… he wouldn’t betray us… would he? He may have been trying to kill for the last four years… but he has always avoided harming others… I doubt he would condemn the entire world just to kill … I’m sure that would go against his weird code of honour or sothing… fuck knows.

Lucas headed off to the south east. Most of the farmlands are on the east of town. My mother’s farm is the farthest farm to the south east. Gods… I hope he gets to them in ti… then again… knowing my mum… she will be reluctant to leave. Probably why Chloe sent Lucas… he is more likely to get through to her.

Chloe, Robert, and I followed the main road to the south… heading straight for Kataravonia. We pushed the horses way beyond what we normally would… I feel awful for them… but if we slow down then those things could catch up to us… and if that happens, we are beyond fucked.

Chloe: “You really think this sword of yours can stop this thing?”

Dwynfel: “People keep telling that I am destined to save everyone with that damn sword… if there was ever a ti for to do that… it’s now.”

Chloe: “And you say so old bitch nicked it?”

Dwynfel: “A demon disguised as an old woman… yes.”

Chloe: “Well, when we get to town, you hunt that bitch down, then get back to the north gate as quickly as possible.”

Dwynfel: “But what about…”

I was interrupted by the sound of sothing large approaching us from behind. The heavy pounding footsteps grew closer and closer. I looked behind us and… oh shit…

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not ant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Dwynfel: “Drake! Drake!”

Chloe looked behind us as the huge hulking red beast charged towards us. She dodged to the side just in ti.

Chloe: “Shit! That thing is fast.”

A drake is basically a dragon without the wings. They are not as difficult to kill as dragons due to the lack of flight… but they are still not to be trifled with.

Chloe: “We don’t have ti for this. Your arrows any good against that thing?”

Dwynfel: “Only its underside. The scales on the rest of it are far too tough.”

It charged us again… trying to barge us off the horse. Instead, Chloe took us off the road and into a field. The drake pursued us, and in turn, it was followed by Robert.

Chloe: “We’re close to town now… we keep going… if we get close enough then we can…”

The drake jumped this ti… Chloe managed to direct the horse out of the way… but it landed right next to us and the impact shook the ground, causing the horse to stumble.

I was flung to the side and rolled across the muddy field. I wiped the mud from my face and looked back. The horse was on top of Chloe. The drake pressed its claw down on the horse… preventing Chloe from being able to move.

I drew my bow and notched an arrow. Before I could loose it however, the drake breathed a horrendous torrent of fire in my direction. I rolled out of the way to avoid being burned. I went to aim at it again, but it did the sa thing… shit. If this keeps going, then the others will catch up and we’ll have no hope.

It pressed all of its weight into its front claw and I heard the horse’s ribs collapse. Chloe grabbed one of its claws and tried to lift it off… but to no avail. Then Robert jumped off his horse, spear in hand, and imbedded it in the back of the Drake. The Drake’s thick armour prevented any major damage, but it got imbedded in between the scales, allowing Robert to hold on and harass the beast. This distracted it enough for to loose an arrow into its stomach. It stepped back and shrieked.

Chloe swiftly lifted the crushed horse and crawled out from underneath it. She raised her great sword and charged at the drake. Swung the blade upwards, striking the beast just underneath where my arrow had struck. She continued the swing and cut deep into the drake’s stomach and chest. Its intestines spilled out and onto the floor.

Chloe withdrew her blade and without wasting a second ran off after Robert’s horse. Robert pulled his spear out of the drake’s back and ran over to .

Robert: “You alright, lad?”

He presented his hand to . I took it and he pulled up.

Dwynfel: “I’m fine. Thanks for the assist.”

Chloe pulled up on Robert’s horse.

Chloe: “No ti for this shit… get on… we gotta move.”
