"Since Mr. Yang is so confident, let’s see the real deal with our skills shortly." Sun Yihai offered a slight smile as he walked to the center of the venue, "Everyone, please take your seats according to the na tags."
People took their seats one after another, and as the representative of the organizers, Sun Yihai stood at the podium and began to speak, "Colleagues of the Xia dical Industry, welco to join us at the Xia dicine Conference. The aim of this conference has been clearly communicated to everyone, primarily to establish the Xia dical Association and set a unified standard for the Xia dical Industry."
"In the long history of our Xia Country, Xia dicine has always played a very important role; it is a beautiful treasure within our traditional culture."
"However, in recent years, with the rapid rise of modern dicine combined with our Xia dical Industry’s lack of progression and complacency, Xia dicine has gradually declined. If we continue like this, our Xia dicine will inevitably be completely ousted from the stage of history."
"As practitioners and inheritors of Xia dicine, both privately and publicly, we cannot go on like this."
"Therefore, I propose that we elect an individual with high dical skill and respected virtue from the Xia dical Industry during this conference, soone who can lead us to unite our efforts and bring glory to Xia dicine, making it shine on the world stage!"
"Good, well said!" The crowd cheered again and again, and soone in the throng even shouted, "There’s no need to choose for the position of president; Sun Yihai is the undisputed candidate!"
"Exactly, I agree!"
"I second that!"
Sun Yihai was pleased with the reaction, but he still responded politely, "My friends, we agreed that the disciple’s dical skill should determine who becos president. We can’t break that rule, to avoid any discontent, hehe."
"Who dares to object?" A brash young man stood up, bursting with aggression, "Then they’ll have to get through first!"
"Right, let’s see who dares to object!"
"Anyone who objects, stand up now!"
The crowd was noisy until Yang Yu slowly stood up with a smile, "If that’s the case, then I suppose I must stand up."
Everyone’s face twitched, and even Sun Yihai clenched his teeth. However, not daring to show any oddity, he had to put on a smiling face, "Since Mr. Yang is so eager, let’s begin the competition now."
"The competition is divided into a theoretical written test and practical operation. Everyone’s papers are the sa, and the question bank was contributed to by all of us. As for which part of the test to take, it will be determined by drawing lots."
"Huh? There’s even a question bank?" Yang Yu looked surprisedly at Sun Yihai, "Why didn’t you tell ?"
Sun Yihai feigned surprise, "I didn’t? But I’ve inford every participant!"
"Yes, we all said so!"
"Could it be that your female disciple is not up to the test, so you’re deliberately saying this?"
The crowd looked at Yang Yu with scorn, as if he was soone deliberately causing trouble.
Yang Yu couldn’t be bothered to argue with them and just chuckled coldly.
It was just like how there are always so people online, who, unless sothing happens to themselves, believe everything else is false, with the classic quote being, "Why does it happen to you and not to ?"
Not knowing about the question bank would only prove Sun Yurou’s inadequacy if she failed because of it—there’s really nothing to complain about.
After all, the practice of dicine does not always allow for open-book exams, and sotis there isn’t even enough ti for that.
To demonstrate the fairness of this exam, computers were specially utilized.
Each candidate completed their exam on a random computer and then printed their answers, making it impossible to recognize anyone’s handwriting and cheat.
The exam was to last an hour, and Yang Yu yawned continuously, almost falling asleep.
The others gathered together and quietly discussed what Yang Yu’s background might be.
Apart from Sun Yihai, no one in the Xia dical Industry recognized Yang Yu.
But Sun Yihai, fearing that his own status might be unstable, deliberately kept Yang Yu’s identity a secret from the others.
After all, being a big shot in Tianhai City was no less significant than having the status of the Xia dical Family.
Yang Yu didn’t care what others said about him as long as they didn’t disturb his sleep; he let them think whatever they wanted.
An hour later, the exam ended.
Aside from the last two questions on dialectical analysis of the Eight Principles and the pharmacological analysis, the rest of the exam was graded by a computer, and scores were produced imdiately.
The test was out of a hundred points, the last two questions together were worth thirty points, and almost everyone got full marks for the first seventy points.
To determine the winner, it all ca down to the last two questions, which were naturally much harder.
The computer quickly eliminated the answer sheets that had one of the two questions unanswered, because if one question was left blank, the answer sheet was considered aningless.
After this round of computer screening, ten answer sheets remained, which everyone would grade together.
The answers to the dialectical analysis of the Eight Principles on those ten answer sheets were almost identical, so everyone’s attention once again turned to the last question: the pharmacological analysis.
The first answer sheet was displayed, and while everyone was still pondering and studying it, Yang Yu glanced at it and imdiately said, "This candidate’s pharmacological analysis is not up to par. Blood Worry has a mild and cool nature and is used to stop bleeding and pain, dispel stasis, and reduce swelling. Yet, he paired it with saffron, which invigorates blood. Does he want the patient to bleed out faster?"
In the crowd, a young man blushed and couldn’t utter a word.
There was nothing he could do; the test question had hit right on his blind spot in knowledge. He didn’t even know what the obscure herb Gui Jianchou was used for!
Although no one spoke, they all agreed with Yang Yu’s judgnt, and Sun Yihai automatically presented the second answer sheet.
"This answer sheet is quite perfect."
"Yes, the pharmacological analysis is accurate, with basically no issues."
Everyone was satisfied with the second answer sheet, but Yang Yu spoke again: "Purple Gold Dragon is bitter, numbing, cool, and toxic. Using it to reduce inflammation and pain is essentially a toxic attack on toxins. This pharmacological analysis did not take into account the toxicity of Purple Gold Dragon. Where is it without faults?"
"Looking at his drug combinations and dosages, it further proves that he was not aware of the toxicity of Purple Gold Dragon."
Once again, the crowd was speechless, and amongst them, another young man’s eyes lost their light.
The third, fourth, fifth... each answer sheet that seed perfect was found to have flaws by Yang Yu, and the mood of everyone began to sink.
If things continued this way, it seed likely no one would get a perfect score.
On the ninth answer sheet, Yang Yu did not speak, and everyone else looked it over carefully for a long ti without finding any faults, finally breathing a sigh of relief: "At last, we have a perfect score. I wonder whose answer sheet this is."
Sun Yihai smiled and said, "This answer sheet is perfect. No objections, right?"
Just as everyone was about to agree, Yang Yu spoke up again: "This answer sheet has a most fatal flaw, in that its prescription combination lacks a neutral adjuvant that harmonizes the properties of all the dicines."
