"Go back and have a look?" Liu Cuyun’s face showed a bitter smile of helplessness, "Ah Wei, when I married your brother-in-law, my parents had already driven out of the house, saying they wanted to sever our parent-child relationship."
"At the ti of my marriage, not a single person from my maternal family ca, do you know how your brother-in-law and I were treated by his family?"
"What’s more, three years ago, when my son Ah Yu had no money for university, I was forced to ask you for a loan. Did you ever lend a penny?"
"I’m sorry, I’ve already considered myself without a maternal ho."
Liu Cuyun ended the call, wiped her tears, and forced a smile, "Mom will go cook for you."
"Mom, let do it," Yang Yu said, "My cooking skills have gotten quite good. You take a rest."
Shen Sinning nodded repeatedly, "I haven’t had the chance to eat the dishes cooked by my brother-in-law for a long ti. I ca back specifically for this."
"Alright then," Liu Cuyun smiled at them, "I’ll go rest for a while."
After Liu Cuyun had left, Yang Yu turned to Yang Rongguang and asked, "Dad, what’s the situation with mom’s maternal family?"
Yang Yu had never seen relatives from his mother’s side before, and he was used to it from childhood.
Today, to his surprise, he heard that his mother still had relatives on her maternal side, which piqued his curiosity.
"Your mom’s family is from the Tree Village in Yanghe City. They looked down on for not being able to afford a lavish dowry and wouldn’t let your mom marry unless she cut ties with them," Yang Rongguang sighed continuously, "It’s just that your mom is a good person, never caring about that, and insisted on marrying , and since then she lost touch with her maternal ho completely."
"Uh..." Yang Yu didn’t expect his parents to have such a past, and he felt deeply stirred.
Indeed, a poor couple faces many sorrows. If he hadn’t suddenly made it big, his parents would still be living in poverty.
To be fair, even though my grandfather’s family was ruthless, their actions were sowhat understandable.
If his own daughter wanted to marry into such a poor family, he would definitely oppose it too.
However, Yang Yu always stood by his own family. Since his grandfather’s family looked down on them, it was better to cut ties.
He had never seen them anyway, so it didn’t matter whether they were relatives or not.
Knowing his parents’ past, Yang Yu was even more determined to treat them well.
Their journey together as a family hadn’t been easy.
Now that he was capable of repaying them, it was ti for them to enjoy life.
Yang Yu worked quickly, and in less than half an hour he had prepared a lavish tableful of food.
Looking at the table full of sumptuous dishes, Shen Silin and her sisters along with Yang Yuxuan had their appetites whetted and enjoyed the al imnsely, but Liu Cuyun was preoccupied and had little appetite.
"Mom, if you have sothing on your mind, just say it," Yang Yu smiled. "Whatever it is, your son will take care of it."
"I still want to go back and see," Liu Cuyun smiled helplessly, "Although they drove out, I still miss them. After all, my parents raised for over twenty years. At the very least, I owe them for their upbringing."
"Mom, whatever decision you make, I support you," Yang Yu smiled. "When you go back to your maternal ho, I’ll go with you."
"The fourth day of the Lunar New Year, it’s your grandfather’s eightieth birthday," Liu Cuyun said. "We’ll go on that day!"
New Year’s Eve, Tai Country, Tipu Village.
Lu Ah had been ho for a few days. He had made a lot of money in Australia and bought many things for his family, making everyone in the village enviously excited.
Tipu Village was a very poor little fishing village where boys who wanted to earn money either box or continue the family business as fishern.
But even in boxing, there weren’t many who made money like Lu Ah.
Lu Ah had initially planned to propose to the village belle Nuoi during these days, but he was too shy to speak up.
"How should I start? Sigh!" Lu Ah thought of many ways to open the conversation, but no matter how much he considered, none seed appropriate, leaving him extrely frustrated.
"Brother, it’s not good, so outsiders are harassing Sister Nuoi! They’re by the seaside!" Lu Ah’s younger brother, Lu Ka, rushed back ho, his expression panicked.
"What?" Upon hearing this, Lu Ah imdiately dashed out of the house and ran towards the seaside.
By the seaside, a sharply dressed man was pulling at a young woman while laughing loudly, "Miss, stop resisting and co with . I’ll give you lots and lots of money, haha!"
"Let go of , let go!" The young woman struggled desperately, screaming repeatedly.
She was Nuoi, the village belle whom Lu Ah couldn’t stop thinking about.
Hearing Nuoi’s screams, a large crowd gathered, wanting to help her.
But with about a dozen ard bodyguards surrounding the man, who would dare approach?
Nuoi’s father and brother arrived, furious, "Let Nuoi go imdiately!"
The dozen bodyguards imdiately aid their guns at Nuoi’s father and brother, silencing them with fear as they could only watch helplessly while the man tore at Nuoi’s clothes, their eyes bulging with rage.
"Stop it now!" Accompanied by a thunderous roar, Lu Ah’s figure swiftly moved through the crowd, his fists furiously slamming into the heads of those dozen bodyguards.
The bodyguards were knocked unconscious before they even got a good look at Lu Ah’s face, collapsing to the ground.
The man imdiately aid a gun at Nuoi’s head, "Don’t co any closer, or I’ll blow her brains out!"
Lu Ah glared furiously at the man, "Let go of Nuoi, and I’ll let you go."
"Heh, do you think I’m a fool?" the man sneered. "If I let her go, and you charge forward, I’ll be at your rcy."
Lu Ah, suppressing his anger, said, "Then what do you want?"
"I don’t want anything but your life!" As soon as the man finished speaking, he fired a shot towards Lu Ah’s heart.
Bang!
Lu Ah fell to the ground, his fate uncertain!
"This guy actually dares to kill?" The villagers were outraged, but no one dared to step forward.
The man sneered viciously, "My family has lots of money; killing an ordinary person just costs a bit more, so what’s the problem? Besides, he attacked first. I was rely defending myself, hahahaha..."
Smack!
A stone hit the man’s wrist, and his wrist bone fractured as if shattered, causing unbearable pain, and involuntarily, he released his grip and the gun fell to the ground.
Lu Ah sprung up from the ground and charged at the man, punching him in the head.
Crack!
The man’s skull instantly fractured, and he fell to the ground, bleeding from all orifices, dead.
The villagers had terrified expressions, "Lu Ah, did you kill him?"
"Lu Ah, you’ve gotten yourself into big trouble!"
Lu Ah and Yang Yu had taken a trip abroad, and Lu Ah had clearly matured a lot, "He threatened Nuoi with a gun. I was just saving her. It’s just excessive self-defense at most, there won’t be any problems."
