The street food lane wasn’t entirely composed of shrewd rchants; besides the earlier noodle shop, most of the stores clearly displayed their prices.
Of course, these prices were definitely one or two tis higher than normal.
The taxi driver knew the way well and took Yang Yu to the most expensive food street, leaving Yang Yu with no other options.
Fortunately, he wasn’t short on cash now. Let it be expensive then; he’d bring back so local specialties.
Although it was called a street food lane, it sold a mixed variety of items—one could find anything.
After comparing several shops, Yang Yu finally bought several bags of mushrooms from one specialty store.
"Hmm?" Yang Yu quickly got attracted to a large mushroom in the store, "Shopkeeper, how much for this mushroom?"
Ye Yu and Bai Xuefeng were very curious as to why Yang Yu was interested in this big mushroom.
This big mushroom had a red cap and a white stalk, but the red cap had several large gold spots on it, making it look very attractive.
However, those who knew about mushrooms understood that the more attractive a mushroom looked, the more toxic it was, and this big mushroom was obviously of the deadly kind.
Sure enough, the shopkeeper smiled at Yang Yu, "Sir, this mushroom is highly toxic; we only use it for display and it’s not for sale. If anyone were to eat it and face any problem, our small shop really couldn’t afford the compensation."
"How about this," said Yang Yu, "I could record a video or write a statent claiming that I wanted to buy it myself, knowing its toxicity, and that any consequences would be my own responsibility and not related to the shop owner, would that work?"
"Better not," the shopkeeper, fearing an accident, shook his head, "Anyway, it wouldn’t sell for much..."
Yang Yu said imdiately, "Five thousand, will you sell it?"
The shopkeeper’s eyes brightened, and he nodded repeatedly, "Sell, of course, I’ll sell!"
Selling a mushroom for five thousand, the price was even higher than gold, not selling it would be foolish!
The shopkeeper, in good spirits, packed the mushroom in a fresh-keeping bag, and also included a bag of premium mushrooms as a gift.
The three left the shop, and Bai Xuefeng was puzzled, "Master, what are you doing..."
"This mushroom is indeed poisonous, but its toxin is very special," Yang Yu smiled, "No matter what the poison is, it gets neutralized by this mushroom’s toxin. Even if infected by a Gu worm, just swallowing the toxin of this mushroom would kill the worm."
"Despite its deadly poison, it can counteract all poisons."
"I see," understood Bai Xuefeng, "but it’s difficult to get the dosage right!"
"That’s not a problem," Yang Yu said, "I will take it back and process it into a Detoxification Pill. Just keeping this pill on you will keep poisonous insects at bay. If poisoned, eating one can detoxify you."
"Of course, if you’re not poisoned and take it for fun, one pill could take your life."
Bai Xuefeng shook his head repeatedly, "Master, I’m not foolish, why would I take an antidote if I’m not poisoned?"
"That’s enough," Yang Yu laughed, "Let’s go back to the hotel, rest for the night, and head back to Tianhai in the morning."
Yang Yu found a nearby five-star hotel to stay in, and not long after, a man’s voice ca from outside the door, "Mr. Yang, I’m Kun Ka, could you open the door to et?"
Yang Yu casually opened the door and found only a dark-skinned middle-aged man from Southeast Asia outside, so he nodded, "Co in."
Yang Yu brewed a pot of tea for Kun Ka, and the two sat down by the tea table, "Mr. Kun Ka, you sure are bold, not afraid that I might harm you?"
"If I hadn’t thoroughly investigated Mr. Yang’s background, I naturally wouldn’t have dared to co in alone," Kun Ka said with a smile. "I really admire Mr. Yang Yu from Tianhai City, who dares to confront Young Master Li, the foremost among the top ten young masters of Asia."
"A person like you despises scheming against others, let alone since we have no grudges, you wouldn’t do so even more."
"You’re wrong," Yang Yu said as he seriously brewed the tea. "There are quite a few who have been sched against by . As long as it benefits myself, I’m capable of anything."
"The only area where you’re sowhat right is that we have no major enmity; naturally, I wouldn’t sche against you."
"But this afternoon you were planning to kidnap , and I take that to heart."
"Haha!" Kun Ka laughed loudly, "If Mr. Yang is willing to forgive , I am prepared to apologize formally."
As he spoke, Kun Ka took out a jade carving from the bag he had brought with him, "I didn’t know what gift to give Mr. Yang, so I just picked sothing casually from ho, hoping Mr. Yang would like it."
Yang Yu took the jade carving, his expression solemn.
This jade carving was of a dragon, crafted so vividly it seed almost alive.
Even those who knew nothing about jade would be captivated by this dragon-shaped jade carving.
But Yang Yu didn’t like it at all; instead, his gaze turned icy as he looked at Kun Ka, "Mr. Kun Ka, this jade carving looks like it has so years on it—and it has traces of blood and resentnt. If I’m not mistaken, this must have been an inheritance of so family, after which it ca into your hands after that family was exterminated?"
Kun Ka’s face twitched, and his gaze toward Yang Yu grew sowhat apprehensive: "Mr. Yang is truly a divine figure, that is indeed the case. This jade carving is an inheritance of the Xia clan from Myanmar, whose family was massacred by a group of rcenaries, and the piece was then sold to ."
"I advise you to take this jade carving to a grand temple imdiately, sacrifice it at a pagoda, or you might invite fatal disaster," Yang Yu handed the jade carving back to Kun Ka. "I don’t like associating with those who tread a crooked path. You visiting today is a twist of fate; I’ll help you out this once. Go, do whatever you have to do."
While Kun Ka was typically quite arrogant and considered himself invincible, today he humbled himself to visit here, feeling that he had given enough respect to Yang Yu. Yet, to his surprise, he received a lecture instead, which left him quite dissatisfied.
However, he was also shocked by Yang Yu’s abilities and didn’t dare show his anger, only putting the jade carving back into the bag: "If Mr. Yang looks down on , then so be it. Goodbye."
As for sacrificing the jade carving at a pagoda as Yang Yu had suggested, he had no interest in doing so.
If he believed the item was ominous, he would simply sell it. There were plenty willing to take it off his hands. Kun Ka would not engage in a losing deal.
Just as Kun Ka stepped out of the door, Yang Yu’s voice ca from behind, "On your way back, if you see the seventh red car, rember to hit the brakes. You ca to see , and I don’t want you to encounter danger on your way back, or your n will pin the bla on ."
Red is the color of blood, foretelling a bloodshed disaster.
"Thanks," Kun Ka responded, not taking it seriously. In his region, there were plenty who did evil—if there really were retribution, many would be dead.
Yang Yu knew Kun Ka didn’t believe him, and he didn’t care.
After all, Kun Ka wasn’t really a good person; if he were to die, so be it.
It’s just that Yang Yu didn’t want soone he had just t to die under unfortunate circumstances, which was bad luck, so he just gave a warning.
As to whether he could avoid this disaster, that was up to him!
