The elderly master was furious, slamming his cane on the ground: “Go, ask the lady to co downstairs.”
The maid nodded and hurried upstairs.
Before she could take a step, she saw Bai Qiuqing hurriedly descending the stairs, and the servant stopped in her tracks.

“How dare you still call that?” the old master slamd the newspaper in his hand onto the coffee table in front of him, “What exactly happened with your brother? If you don’t explain clearly what happened with your brother hitting Xiaren, don’t bother coming back to the Qiao Family ever again!”
Bai Qiuqing’s face turned pale instantly. Never in her years at the Qiao Family had she heard the old master speak with such severity, and she was montarily stunned.
“Dad, listen to , this must have been an accident. I will have my brother apologize to Xiaren later.”
“If apologies were useful, what would we need the police for?”
Suddenly, Qiao Lang’s voice ca from the doorway, his face looking dreadful as he stord in, followed by the princess-like Wang Yi.

The old master silenced Bai Qiuqing with a cold glance, then softened his deanor and pleaded pitifully, “Dad, I apologize on behalf of my brother. Since Xiaren is alright, let’s just forget about this incident.”
She sought forgiveness in front of the old master first, then swiftly dealt with the police using money. This matter had to be resolved quickly; otherwise, it could evolve in unpredictable ways.

Seeing Bai Qiuqing thick-facedly begging, Qiao Lang simply sat next to the old master and coldly chuckled, “It’s fine? If sothing severe had happened to Xiaren, could you and the Bai Family afford the consequences?”
Not wanting to argue with Bai Qiuqing like a shrew, Qiao Lang turned directly to the old master: “Dad, Xiaren just called to reassure you and grandma that she is fine. She will call later to check in.”
“That’s good, that’s good.” The old lady clutched her chest; hearing the news really overwheld her.
Bai Qiuqing’s gaze flickered, her emotions unclear.
“By the way,” Qiao Lang spoke again, looking at Bai Qiuqing with a smirk that was not quite a smile, “Sister-in-law, why don’t you stay indoors for the next few days and behave yourself at ho. This was particularly requested by Xiaren.”
Upon hearing this, Bai Qiuqing, infuriated, retorted: “Qiao Lang, what do you an by that? Ordered by Qiao Xiaren? She’s just a young girl; how is it her place to deal with ?”
Qiao Lang couldn’t bother to argue with her too much.
Xiaren always had her reasons and thoughts behind her actions; if she made this request, it must be because sothing significant had happened.
Qiao Lang understood, and so did the old master, clearly familiar with his granddaughter’s personality.
This was for the best, as Bai Qiuqing had been causing too much trouble these days.
Without another word, the old master signaled Uncle Wu with a glance.
Uncle Wu nodded and stepped forward emotionlessly, restraining Bai Qiuqing “Madam, please, retire to your room to rest for a few days.”
Though tis had changed, the Qiao Family had amassed wealth and prestige over thousands of years; sotis, their thods of dealing with people carried a hint of the ancient Palace’s flavor.
