"Last night, it was the manager here—Qin Li," replied the receptionist, who initially hadn’t paid much mind to things. But after a thorough check around the area, it beca shockingly apparent that Mr. Lu was nowhere to be found!
"How could this happen?" the receptionist seed flustered. The hotel, known for its elite security, hygiene, and service standards, had never encountered anything this absurd. Whether it was Mr. Lu or any other guest mysteriously vanishing, such incidents would ruin their reputation—and their careers.
The receptionist trembled uncontrollably and instinctively considered calling the police.
"Bring Qin Li here," Qiao Xiaren said calmly, though her furrowed brows conveyed an air of authority.
"Alright."
Not long after, Qin Li arrived—a man with a square face and a hint of facial hair.
He wore a dark suit, his narrow eyes betraying no emotions. He appeared composed and mature.
"You’re Qin Li?"
The mont Qin Li arrived, he was confronted by a young woman with a cold expression, soone who carried herself with the deanor of soone issuing orders. Reflexively, he frowned.
"Miss, I am the manager of this hotel. May I ask what the matter is?"
Qiao Xiaren spoke rapidly, "Pull up the surveillance footage from 8 PM last night to this morning. I need it now."

Qin Li, having heard so context whispered by the receptionist beside him, gradually understood what had happened and said, "I’m sorry, Miss. Due to our hotel’s confidentiality policies, you don’t have the authority or clearance to view our surveillance footage."
"Cannot view?"
Qiao Xiaren’s lips seed to curl into a faint smile as she stepped forward. Her gaze made Qin Li’s scalp tingle uncomfortably.
For a split second, he had the eerie illusion that the person gazing at him was not a young woman but an elder with an oppressive presence.
"Mr. Lu managed to disappear right under your noses. Manager Qin, how exactly are you doing your job? With this kind of skill and competence, how have you lasted so long at this hotel?"
Though Qiao Xiaren’s tone wasn’t overly forceful, the light and offhand manner of her words sent waves of intense unease through Qin Li.
In the air hung an almost imperceptible yet palpable pressure.
For a mont, Qin Li’s eyes flickered with surprise. Then he spoke, "Miss, you are neither part of this hotel’s managent nor affiliated with the Qiao Family. You have no right to judge my role or actions."
Qiao Xiaren suddenly smiled faintly. Without warning, a resounding slap landed on Qin Li’s face.
The sharp crack echoed through the room, and Qin Li’s head was forcefully turned to the side.
Everyone present froze in shock. No one could comprehend why Qiao Xiaren had suddenly struck the hotel manager!
The atmosphere instantly shifted to boiling anger, leaving everyone dumbfounded and wide-eyed.
