Chapter 527: Chapter 527 – Sour On Both Sides

Inside an inconspicuous room of the dical Ward…

Jacob lay on one of the beds, his figure starting to sweat unnaturally in his sleep. He moaned in a soft voice and ruffled quietly as his eyelids twitched under so dark thoughts.

“n… no… no…”

Suddenly as if struck by lightning, Jacob’s eyes flashed open widely and he jerked up, screaming.

“NOOOOOOO!”

Quickly, a pair of soft hands held his chest from front and back, trying to console him. Jacob, in his reverie, tried to shook that person aside and speak incipiently.

“No! We can’t! Everything… Everything is gone!”

Seeing that her efforts were not working, the person gave a sharp slap.

“!!!”

Jacob’s head numbed at that and he stopped his actions. He blinked in pale confusion and looked at the person whose slap still resounded in his eardrums.

“Alice?… why did you slap ?”

“You were acting crazy just now, though that’s nothing new.” Alice sighed as she saw him calming down and sat down on her round stool.

“Really? What was I doing?” Jacob asked, as he looked around, understanding the room but his head still numbed, “Why did you have to slap so hard?”

“I was trying to help you. I didn’t notice.” Jacob snickered at her nonchalant expression, “You were shaking and saying stupid things – no, we can’t, everything’s gone.”

Jacob’s brow squeezed before widening in realization, “Ah… now I rember. I had a dream.”

“Did you dream of soone stealing all your loot.”

“No… it wasn’t that.” Jacob laughed, nervously, “It was a funny dream. I saw that… Henry got married to the queen… The Queen, you know and uh… the kingdom burned down after that.”

“That may not be far from truth.”

“Yeah…” Jacob laughed before quieting, as he noticed it wasn’t Alice who spoke. He looked to his left, towards the door where another person stood.

Olenna, she stood there with such perception that Jacob didn’t even notice her earlier when he looked around. But imdiately he changed his outlook.

Jacob faced her while laying down with his chin lying on his hand and smirked, “My Lady, Olivia, what a surprise to see you. I guess, you’re here to see .”

Olenna clicked quietly, “Tch, another stupid bastard.”

“What was that?”

“Tell us, what do you rember before waking up?” Olenna asked.

“Well… I rember bringing our lawyer for Henry. You know, my close friend, who always depends on .” He said and smiled sleazily.

Alice also felt the desperation oozing out of him and couldn’t take it anymore, “Stop bullshitting and think about what happened next.”

“I’m getting there, you ogre.” Jacob said and tried to recount the next part, “We got him out of jail, brought ourselves to court and then… then…”

Jacob’s confused eyes searched for truth and it took a mont before he started shaking again, “I… I think… I saw sothing quite unusual.”

“And what was it…” Alice urged him on.

“I- I- I saw the queen, who looked pretty… familiar.” Jacob’s suspicious eyes landed on Olenna, “I saw her too.”

Olenna said nothing as she calmly saw his face sour terribly.

“Alice… tell … tell , it’s not true.”

Alice looked away and that was all Jacob needed to know. He looked down at the bed sheets and murmured quietly, “why… does he get all the hotties…”

anwhile Henry…

He was seating on a large oval dining table, adorned with various rich, gold display of plates and an even larger display of delicious food. Yet, the man seed lost in thought, face looking far sour as he sucked on a slice of lemon, but the sourness was not from that.

Opposite him, a bit far away was Abigail. Like him, she was eating. The beautiful creature wore a vibrant red dress that made her already great appearance even greater.

Even though pregnant, the dress only highlighted her bloody beauty more.

But that problem was that, for Henry wanted to rip it off and have downtown fun with her, but, alas, that was not on the nu for him.

“Stop looking so glum.” Abigail said while accurately cutting a fine of at and eating it, “You just got out of sothing that would have landed you in jail for a long ti.”

To answer her, Henry only sighed which made her stop and look at him.

“You should be ashad of thinking such shaful things. We are talking about the safety of our son here.” Abigail said with a scolding tone, yet it brimd with trickery.

“The baby is there because of those shaful things we did.” Henry said while sucking on half a lemon as if it was a pacifier.

“Regardless… Our son’s health is the main priority.” Abigail said, now serious, “And how long are you going to keep sucking that lemon?”

“Well… it’s the only thing that cos close to what I wanted to ea-”

“Shing!”

A spoon shot just an inch away from Henry and struck on the chair. Splinters of hard wood breaking apart on impact.

Henry froze for a mont as the lemon slice dropped from his mouth, “…You’re right. With so many delicacies in front of , why am I eating this? Oh, and thank you for preparing this food, it’s so kind of you.” Henry said while giving out a small prayer for his and his son’s health to the goddess and chowing down on everything except anything sour.

Abigail picked up another spoon and used it scoop up so bright red liquid in an unusual bowl and drank it, “Tell , why have I to see your face so soon?”

Henry looked mock hurt, “Oh Abi… those are so hurtful words. Here I am, thinking you’d be happy to see .”

“I would… if your arrival didn’t bring national impedint every ti, I see you brought to court.”

“You can’t fault on that, the last ti I didn’t know it would cause that much destruction and this ti… this ti’s it’s an internal problem.”

Abigail looked as if she didn’t care, “And have you figured out who they are?… Do you need my help?”

“No, no. It’s best to keep you out of this.” Henry said, his face dark at the thought of so people, “If I can’t even take care of my own problems, how can I ever expect to be that child’s father.”

Abigail smiled for a mont before returning to her aloof look, “It doesn’t have to be precisely… there are other people that coul-”

“Thanks, I really appreciate it. But no, I want to do this myself. Besides, it’s good to have a show of force sotis to reign in the dogs, otherwise they get cranky.”

After a mont, Abigail spoke, her tone shallow, “Whatever you have to do, do it quickly and please… try not make much noise. There’s already a problem brimming at the borders.”

Henry stopped his hounding and looked at her, “Are the Sekai’s already prepared?”

“Not from what I understand. But they are putting more and more people at the borders, trying to gauze us out.” Abigail spoon stopped as she continued, “They are causing trouble with export prices and other stuff to annoy us as well.”

“Hmm… so not ready for war but already an annoyance, huh.”

“How is the production of those things… guns, right?”

“It’s going great.” Henry gave her a confident smile, “In fact, we’re ready for mass production, just need the required contacts. Which won’t be long now.”

“So, this ans you’re about to beco one of the richest people on the kingdoms.” Abigail smiled.

Henry brought his cup up, “The Richest.”

“Then I suppose we can talk about the current tax revenue you have and the one you’ll be giving in the future.” She raised her cup high with a bright smile too.

“…”
