Chapter 416: Chapter 416 – Nostalgic Fight’s Aftermath

Everyone was silent.

They couldn’t tell if the fight was over or not.

All of the soldiers looked at Lucian, hoping he would get up and start fighting.

But to their dismay, Nance walked towards Lucian and checked him. Then he slowly nodded, stood up and proclaid, “Lucian is unconscious, Henry is the winner!”

“What!”

“Already?”

“With just one attack?”

Most of them couldn’t believe that it was over. For it was only one punch, how could that even be counted as a fight?

The soldiers groaned in dissatisfaction. All of them wanted to see a legendary fight with blood and gore as its main event, but all they got was just a few seconds of power advertisent.

“What is happening here?” All of them heard a gruff voice and looked to see It was none other than Seman.

“Commander!” All of the soldiers imdiately saluted and bowed before the man while Seman glanced at the unconscious Lucian.

“Soone want to tell why Lucian is like that?” Seman said, his eyes only at Nance.

Nance went to him and discreetly told him the story. While he was listening, Seman glanced briefly at both Lucian and Henry, while looking mostly at Lucian.

One thing was certain, Lucian had lost his reputation in front of these soldiers. He was the one who challenged Henry initially but was the one who lost horribly.

Seman humd, “So of you, take him to the dical center. I’ll talk to this fool later about his behavior and Henry, you co with . We have a eting to concur.”

I nod and follow the guy, ‘It doesn’t look like he’s angry or disappointed. So it’s not a problem beating Lucian.’

‘Good! I’ll do it again so ti later.’

We went back into the sa War room with only Seman, and Nance in the room.

Seman sat in his seat of authority, “The others will be arriving soon, sit down.”

“Henry, do you think this bandit king problem is really as bad as the soldiers make it to be?”

“My lord, it wouldn’t be too farfetched to say that the problem is very bad. Though we are already at the boiling point and only one of us could exist now.”

“So war with them is inevitable?” Seman asked, his face hidden by his hands.

“Unless we get strong enough to the point that they retreat, yeah.” I ask, “Why, did sothing happen again?”

Seman brought out a piece of paper and showed it to , “This is the result of the scouting mission of the bandits.”

‘It’s the result. No wonder Seman looks so stressed right now, the threat turned out to be real.’

‘The Bandit King does have 50 thousand fighters under him and now they were under his son Orion, who seed to be preparing all of them for battle.’

‘Hmm… but if that’s so, why did this bandit king guy do sothing like that.’

As I was wondering, the captains ca and the eting started.

First, Seman told them the contents of the letter which shocked every one of them. It wasn’t an exasperation to say that we were fucked at this point.

If we didn’t have ample support at this mont, we should get ready to retreat now.

“Has the procedure for transporting the people of the city started?” Klein asked.

“How could you say that, Klein?” Calvin imdiately asked the guy, “We are one of the strongest fighting force in the kingdom, do you know how shaful it would be if we ran from asly bandits?”

“The only way we could be shad is if we survive? And it would be even more so if we let those innocent people get caught by the bandits.” Vein said, “So in my mind, we shouldn’t let the possibility of retreat be out of our heads.”

Captain and most other captains sighed before one of them asked, “How is support going on? Are there any certainties yet?”

“I have sent a call for support and besides the Royal Army, nobody else seems to answer it.” Seman said, “But it is still too soon to give up, I believe help would co soon.”

“At least we have the royal army supporting to us with 15 thousand troops. I’ve also heard that they will be sending a few Valkyries for support.” Nance said.

“Valkyries?”

“Really?”

“That’s good!”

The Valkyries were a hard topic of the kingdom. Everyone knew of their great strength and how they could change the tide of the battle imnsely. Which was why all of this n under pressure were already gaining courage just by listening to the word Valkyrie.

“Who will they be sending?”

“We don’t know that yet.” Nance then looked at Henry, who was still contemplating, “Henry, do you think you could call so troops for support?”

“Hmm” I look up, a bit preoccupied with my mind but still nod, “Sure, I have already sent a letter and I’m sure the people back ho are gathering fighters as we speak.”

“Good! The more people we have, the better our fighting chances!” Gosco said.

Seman saw how much clouded I looked so he asked, “What’s the matter, Henry? You seem a bit pensive.”

“Well it’s not much my lord… but sothing keeps roaming through my head from the mont I saw the letter.”

Seman leaned closer, intending to inquire.

“The letter said that the bandits indeed have a big force of 50 thousand.” Seman nodded, “Then why did the Bandit King only attack with 5 thousand?”

“I’ve been having that thought for so ti too and the interrogation thods didn’t bring out any words from him.” Seman said, “So it’s still unsolved.”

“Is the guy still alive?”

“He’s in a secured cell and well alive.”

“I think I have an idea what brought him to do sothing so stupid, my lord.”

Curiosity peeked Seman, “Oh? What is it?”

“Not here, we should go to his cell. It would be best to confirm it straight from the man himself.”

Seman looked around the room, finding no objections we all get up and went out.

The prisoner cell was in a tower at another place, secured by a lot soldiers. The place was tall and looked grim enough to say, it was the Prison.

We went inside and down a few levels before going through a door. Then walking by a few cells before coming to our destined one.

The place was underground so there was no system to bring in natural light. The only source were the candles hung on the walls, but even they were limp.

We had to use a fire sigmat to brighten up the place and finally looked at our culprit. The guy, just like this place, lied limply tied to the back wall.

His face drained of any color he might have had. His body lacking nutrition’s and energy he once brimd with. Tall white hair like an old woman, but ssier.

“Oricon, get up!” A guard loudly beat on the cell rods, “The commanders here for you personally.”

Oricon, who seed to be sleeping, slowly opened his eyes towards the fire source. Opening his mouth, he showed a few loose teeth, “So bright… is it the sun?”

“Prisoners under here don’t get much light so they are a bit sensitive to it.” Calvin whispered to my ear.

The bandit king who looked quite weak, suddenly woke his eyes tall and smiled widely, laughing, “Hahaha!”

“Did you finally ca to beg, you fools?”
