Chapter 386: Chapter 386 – Klein’s Report

“Mr. Tax, care to tell what you’re really here for?”

I find no false words in Klein’s tone. The guy was soone who liked hearing things directly.

Now that I sit before him, I take in his full figure.

The guy stood at 6.5, a remarkably tall height. He had black hair and his pale blue eyes looked sharply at everything and tried to understand the anatomy of it.

Even from where I sat, I could see him trying to gaze out, fully trying to understand and make use of it.

From my understanding, Klein Gantrow was a smart and logical man who did everything rationally. Sure, he wasn’t the strongest in Seman’s army but his rational mind and strategies made up for it.

He had the most wins or more accurately, satisfying battle reports than anyone in Seman’s army. So he in fact is the second most important person in Seman’s group… second to Nance who not only is the strongest but also the second in command.

He was the guy you would sent to disarm a bomb or negotiate with a terrorist, albeit cutting the sweet talk.

If I could get Klein’s approval, then I can count on close to half of Seman’s. But the problem was how to get it?

Klein was the smart and no nonsense type of guy while I was the who made the most noise and trouble for others. We aren’t typically the compatible duo.

But since he wants it direct, I’ll give it to him direct.

“I’m here, because I was ordered to be here. I’m sure you know by now the things that I’ve done at Calvin’s or have an idea of it.”

“Yes” Klein brought up a report paper, “It seed like a colorful drawing with a big ‘W’ as the grade.”

My eyes flash, “But you don’t see it like that.”

“No, that would be wrong to say. I see the final results and accept it but that doesn’t hide the little spots glowing red in many places.”

“Such as…”

Klein looked directly at and listed them, “The fact that you ignored a command from your superior officer and charged into an enemy base. The result being, instantly being attacked by the leader no less.”

“Co on, don’t ignore the big parts. I defeated that guy instantly with just one punch.”

“Lucky, but you still disobeyed your senior officer.”

“It wasn’t an order, more likely a warning to stay away from the field. Besides, I only did so because of the escaping bandits.” I explain, “It was the first fight and the main mission was to quickly finish it and to contain the spreading of information as much as possible.”

“You could say I broke rank for the greater good.”

‘Silver tongue, what’s next?’ Klein thought and turned to the next page.

“Then ca the IDEA.”

“The IDEA?”

“The IDEA.” Klein didn’t spare back, “You orchestrated a dangerous and risky plan that could have failed trendously and also demoralized the army.”

“But it worked.”

“Again… Lucky.”

I grin, “Hey, one person can only get so much luck in his life before it becos skill.”

“Truer words I haven’t seen be perford by anyone.”

“Anyone yet.”

‘A bit narcissist.’

“Yes, it’s true that your dangerous plan had worked but what if it hadn’t?”

“That’s for another day.”

“Forget about another day.” Klein said while putting both hands over the file. “What if it had failed, what would you have done?”

“I would have taken responsibility and accepted the punishnt.”

Klein looked sharply at Henry’s face for a while, ‘He’s not lying so either he’s very confident in his skill or that confidence actually has so background… almost as if soone’s behind him.’

“Alright, now to your following journey.” Klein looked down at the report and spoke loudly, “You took charge of an attack on an enemy base… without any prior experience in leading people and having bad history with them.”

I raise a brow at that, ‘Where did he get that part?’

“But I won’t hold this out on you, Calvin gave you the permission, it’s on him.”

By the way Klein talked, I couldn’t help but slightly worry about the future of Calvin.

Klein then looked at sothing.

For the first ti since eting this guy, this is the only ti I see him actually having a worried and frowned look combined together on his face. Even his pale blue eyes looked at the word with incredulity.

“What I don’t understand is… what on earth made you want to jump over an enemy’s base?” Klein asked , genuinely. “Was it the thrill or did you seriously had a plan?”

“Well, truthfully it was both.” I honestly say, “It was the first ti I actually done that and I really really wanted to do it.”

Klein gave a ‘I can’t comprehend you’ look.

“You know, falling over from the sky and onto soone… haven’t you ever wanted to do a cannonball?”

“Oh!… I understand now. But was it only that simple-mindedness which made you do it?”

I sigh, “I know that you want to do that therapeutic mind voodoo and understand my inner self, but I say as it is. I never did sothing like that before and it looked the perfect mont to do it… and let tell you, the landing was perfect.”

“Right on the bandit leader… luck.”

“Or skill.”

Klein didn’t refute it this ti. He simply closed off the report file and looks at , “What is it that you want from , Mr. Tax?”

“Hmm… maybe guidance?”

“‘Maybe or I think’ won’t cut it, you need to tell straight.” Klein gave a heavy look that wanted a satisfying answer, a real one.

“What do you want from ?”

A straight answer without any bullshit in the middle.

“What I want is… Leadership.” I tell him seriously, “I’m still young and green in many things but strength. Yet strength won’t help in leading n to victory while keeping them alive.”

“I want to learn that.”

This is the truth.

I really didn’t know how to lead.

Yes, I could inspire fear into others and make them work for , but for how long? And what about the talented ones, they won’t simply bend to fear or listen to money… they needed a figure.

That’s what I want to beco, an Idol.

Klein looked at for a long ti before asking, “And if I gave you an order… would you disobey it as the situation goes?”

I sigh before accepting, “No, I will listen to it… no matter the circumstance.”

“We’ll see about that.” Klein stood up and took his sword to waist, “Let’s go.”

I stand up and follow him out while asking, “Where are we going?”

“Towards our next enemy base.”

“And you’re bringing along?” I ask, dubious.

“Yes”

Klein said nothing more as he called in his officers for a eting. He then described them about the base and where to attack it.

Unlike Calvin, I actually see Klein using real strategy for the plan. He was a direct man but took extra precaution towards an objective.

With the eting done, we imdiately leave for the base and within two hours, we reach it.

Klein imdiately started giving out orders that were prearranged before looking at .

“You have one job.”

“You’re going to stay put.”
