The building trembled, the lights went out and then with a shattering sound, the people scread, their ears, their eyes, and their minds all suffered a strong shock as they were all rendered immobile, including the Knight who saw the source of all these sounds. ’Insects?’ They were insects, reminding him of certain stories. ’They are after us?’ He wondered, before slowly coming to a stop.

Although he had force enough to struggle, the only thing the Knight will incur is losses. More so when considering the enemy that was deed mostly a story in his circle.

’I need to inform the boss, ’ he said, looking toward the direction the little rat had been stuck in. Even from all the deafening sounds, he could hear a distinct set of footsteps. Soone else was here, probably saving the rat from the other side.

’It’s going to be troubleso.’ But only if, the traces of the blood, can’t be cleaned so fast. Considering such a display of force will obviously attract the ire of the Grandmaster who sits at the top of this city, the individual behind this action will obviously leave as soon as possible. ’Blood, I need to hurry.’ he acted foolishly, falling to the floor while Darde was rescued. Because in his eyes, that was a foregone conclusion.

But all is not lost, in this world with curses and magic, if it is not properly severed in ti, the blood can help one gain the trace of its owner pretty easily.

Which is what was in the mind of the Knight.

Sadly, once the sound stopped and he forced his body to move to the spot where a hole in the wall was, all he found there was. "Nothing?" No trace of blood existed here, there was nothing at all.

Not to ntion, it was at this ti, that the might of the Archmage fell all over the man’s body, he knew the guardian of the city was here.

"Hah, it’s going to be a long night."

"Mother, stop living on the top floor, it’s becoming harder for you to climb stairs, why not just live on the ground floor, the view from it is as good."

"I don’t want to... the dust and the sll... the upper floor is always so much better, so clean. I don’t have to dust the room as much."

"Mother, you haven’t done so since we were children, the maids do that for us." Farhad looked at his mother, appearing senile and a bit simple. Gone was the intelligence and understanding she once had, now she had beco closer to a child, throwing tantrums over virtually nothing.

The worst part, she barely listens to him no matter what he asks of her.

The week since he ca here was not that eventful. He had expected the Military to pay him a visit and even expected to see his sister and brother-in-law after a while, but none of that ca to pass because as it turns out, both of them were busy due to certain things.

Or they might just be hoping to give Farhad so peace ti with his mother. Which was probably not the case. ’I probably ruined my sister’s baby shower.’ Farhad wanted to laugh for a bit, before looking at his mother, helping her do so chores that she liked and even telling so stories of his own of what he had experienced in the world.

Most of them were sanitized to not scare her. But that was the gist of it. He stayed with his mother, probably the last ti he would ever do so, for the ti cos for everyone, whether they be gods or mortals.

And his mother, her ti was close by, he could see it, he could feel it from the essence of vitality that existed in her body. ’Her death... is probably for the better.’ Farhad felt bad to think like this, almost horrendous, but these were his genuine feelings. ’A good death... a kind one that cos with age.’ Such death truly can be considered a good one, few can enjoy such a peaceful death in a world as chaotic as this.

So if his mother were to experience it, isn’t it good?

’And besides, death is just part of life...’

"I love you, mother." Farhad suddenly spoke, causing his mother to turn to him and smile. "I love you too, beta(son)." They then went back to the simple painting session that his mother had taken as a hobby in her advanced years.

Fahna had been aware of all happening in her mother’s ho for a while now. Being pregnant with a child and with a husband who is busy all the ti doesn’t an she will lose her edge. If not for the nepotism and other political reasons, the seat of Marshall would have gone to her, considering she was the heir that the Military was training all this while to replace her father.

This is why if she puts her mind to sothing, it isn’t hard for her to accomplish it. ’Still the sa old mother’s boy.’ She read the report and noticed no changes in him or his actions which was surprising considering how much he had gone through. ’You should have never entered this world.’

And there was so regret, reading the file, the joy on her mother’s face, and the shy younger brother, she wonders if it would have been better if nothing of the like happened. It wouldn’t be bad if he got a simple office job, got married, and lived a short mortal life like her mother.

Her alone should have been enough. ’If he didn’t go there.’ She blas it all on the Lucien Adobe, but she knows that is false as well. Jester had eyes on their family for a long ti, one way or another he would have co for them. ’I hate him.’ Her family was broken, and ruined, all because of Jester’s actions.

’Foolish brother of mine...’

Her husband is currently visiting his ntor Wilhelm Faust in his laboratory, the real story? She doesn’t know. The movents in the military and those on the imperial side had been sowhat mild, considering what kind of Being Farhad was.

One shouldn’t forget, that this place was still Rudrain, it would be easy for the legends that protect this city to co and deal with Farhad if they wanted.

But they didn’t. ’Amir called him here, using falsehoods and lies, dragging my na into it all. But then do nothing?’ She was currently wondering what was actually her husband was planning with her brother. Sothing odd was going on in this place. Sothing she can’t understand.’

"Get so gifts ready, I will be visiting Mother today." Their hos were divided by the road in between, all one needed was simple steps to go there, even looking out of the window, one could see what goes in on the other side of the street.

But the way Fahna spoke, it appeared as if she was going to her mother’s but visiting so major politician.

Which was odd. But a certain level of formality needs to be maintained now, considering she is Prince consort. A prince who is being grood to be sothing far greater than one might expect.

It took just an hour or so for her to be ready, and then she walked out of our mansion, going toward her mother’s.

Though the mont she did step into her mother’s house, her heart trembled for a bit. ’Wh?’ A familiar feeling appeared and disappeared the mont it touched her. ’Farhad.’ She doesn’t know what her brother had beco, he was really an alien, sothing that no one can fathom at the mont.

"Farhad, this is not a battlefield." She spoke in a low tone, surprising her attendants who were a bit surprised by her outburst, but they didn’t say much, just lowered their heads as a figure slowly walked down the stairs. "I apologize Dd(Sister)." He tilted his head in apology. "I have told the mother of your arrival, please co, she has been desperate to et you." Farhad wanted to speak a bit more and even thought of approaching his sister, but he turned quiet and silently walked back to the third floor where his mother lived.

It was awkward, more awkward than Fahna rembers. ’The cowardice might be gone, but that weakness of him still remains.’ there were so many conflicting feelings for her stupid brother.
