"It would be a lie to say, I didn’t." Spoke I, feeling a bit naughty.
"... Can’t you leave alone? I repaid what I owed, there is nothing connecting us together."
"There is friendship, you were my best friend then, and you are one now. How can I abandon a good friend of mine for no reason." In friendship, there are tis when you fight, and there are tis when you say hurtful things, or do things to your friends that are not worth speaking of. All in an effort to make his life and future better.
That’s the kind of friend I was, even if hated it, I would not abandon my friend if I had the chance to. "Privacy, heard of it?"
"You live in a community housing, two of your friends make love on the sofa, and you have witnessed it yourself... I don’t think privacy is sothing you should claim so lightly." I laughed, feeling jolly all of a sudden, as I made a suggestion. "There are three won free, though one is slightly older, the age won’t matter with the gift you have imparted on them. Why not court one of them? I know they like you... give your nephew a cousin to play with?"
"Stop with the bullshit... tell the real reason why you are showing your face now." Farhad never believed a word that Jester spoke of, he couldn’t. Not like he would do even if he learns of sothing odd. He had taken himself off the chessboard. He won’t ever cause any harm and will try to atone for his sins.
"There is nothing, I don’t need anything from you... but there is sothing that I wish to inform you before you go there." At my words, Farhad sighed, whispering expectations under his breath. This friend of mine really treats like a beggar, doesn’t he?
"Your sister is pregnant with a child, that is true. There is no lie to that. Though if there is an issue, it will be her husband."
"What do you an?"
"She married a certain royal... Who currently holds the title of Marshall. I think there is no need to say his na."
"... That man." A face ca into Farhad’s head, their etings have been short, their conflicts even shorter. In a way, they can be considered comrades after the sa thing. So for a great man like him to marry his sister, it really is a good thing. It in a way ensures his family’s survival and protection directly from the Royal guards.
But then arises an issue. "Royal blood... they wish to devour ?" This inadvertently put Farhad in the sa camp as the Royals.
’Good ga.’ Farhad never believed that an old friend would stoop so low as to use his sister and his own child as leverage to push him, it’s the others that are the issue. The people that would use this connection and make him move.
’Just kill at this point.’ Farhad wanted to curse, but he couldn’t. There was not much he could say. "Why... it’s a piece of bad news, but thanks for explaining, I won’t be caught off guard with this." In a way, it explains why that old rcenary was able to track him. The royals had kept an eye on him all this ti, so it wouldn’t be hard for them to inform his sister and now his brother-in-law of his location.
’In a way, it’s a trap that I had long fallen into.’ This shit world really can’t leave Farhad alone. ’Why does this keep happening?’
Family, it’s such a cursed thing. Who invented it? Why should he care about it? Hah, looking around the new family he made, Farhad understood the answer really well. ’I won’t be forced to be a piece on their chessboard.’ He was not going to play with the rules they established. Jester’s warning really ca in a tily manner. This way he can build up so contingencies and ask for support from so other involved parties.
Parties that can help him survive this ordeal in peace. Sadly, the Radiant Order was out of his hands. They were vultures eying him on the side, and Farhad was not delusional like before. He understood that individuals don’t matter in an organization of such scale. Remira’s will can do nothing for him when the whole Radiant Order how hopes for his downfall.
It can only be considered a miracle that he hadn’t been touched by them as of yet.
"No worries, my warning only ca as I worry about your peaceful life. I can’t let my friend fall into danger when he has just made a life of his own."
"Though, before I go, let be clear. Your brother-in-law... well, he used to have a crush on a daughter of mine." With those words, Jester left, leaving Farhad confused and a bit curious. "Amir, what are you doing."
******
It has been a decade since the incident that shook the continent of Brihma, the serpent that spread chaos is dead and most of the Glory fell upon the shoulders of Amir who had sacrificed his danger to seal the demon beast before.
Not to ntion, he had gone on subsequent raids to restore order in the seas when certain unnatural elents started to crop up. However, that was only partially true. For he had long disappeared from the eyes during the event after sealing the serpent and lived among enemies as their own.
A sort of sha for anyone in the Royal family. But Amir’s grandfather won’t let this ruin the future he had dread for his grandson. Deimos with the help of so military advisors developed a simple plan.
This eventually led to Amir becoming a Marshall, just like Varkus Maisel before him. He was a man above military law, capable of holding his own against the generals even if he lacked strength.
And unlike Varkus, who was treated as a Dog of the Royal family to deal with insurgents and dangerous elents to their power. Amir was given the real right of a Marshall. The true freedom where he never had to answer to anyone anymore.
But that was not enough, Varkus earned his Marshall Status after an imnse amount of sacrifice and effort on his end. Not to ntion, his post was agreed by multiple parts of the military as well as Nobles. But Amir, due to his identity as a Royal was not sothing to be treated lightly. Giving a Royal such power, might not sit right with them.
Which is why, another decision was made for Amir.
"You inford my brother?’ Fahna spoke, her eyes cold holding no love for the man in front of her. "He needs to co here... he needs to be made aware of the life that is to co." Amir also appeared cold, but there was a hint of warmth when he looked at Fahna’s stomach. ’My son.’ It was his blood, his actual blood.
"We established a simple code of conducts before marriage... I am not to be used as leverage to force him to act."
"And you are not... I won’t hide the fact that this is my Grandfather’s plan to force him to join my ranks, but I promise that none of that will happen."
"You going against your own Grandfather will be a miracle." Fahna had little respect for this husband for her. Even though his titles and accolades exceeded even her father’s, most of his action achievents were made in the technological sector, and even earned the title of Professor without even going to any colleges.
But none of that actually mattered to her. More so since learning how much of a child Amir actually was in front of his grandfather that was obviously using him.
In the start, as his wife, she did try to help him realize how odd it was that his grandfather was so involved in his life—an oddity considering how off-handed the Royals are with their children.
It’s obvious that Amir had been grood for sothing greater, sothing he doesn’t know. An icky feeling that even she might be put into danger due to this. Which is why she tried her best. But nothing worked.
For so reason, the man acted like a corpse, soone who was so involved in his work that he forgot about emotions.
Amir was the kind of guy that even after getting the identity of a Marshall, barely used it at all. Not to ntion, how little love he showed in this marriage.
