In the letter, there was an enchantnt on it, and although Amir was not sure of what kind, one thing he could see was that it was harmless.
Probably to protect the letter, or so he believed. ’Was he here to give this letter since the start?’ Amir had wondered, thinking that Rashid’s arrival at his house might be for this letter. As for what was on the inside, he didn’t know.
"Hmm." But he still opened it.
Though they were together for only a while, Amir had co to appreciate Rashid for his openness. Few would dare to expose themselves to be working with an agent of Jester so clearly even if that enemy had given a preferential treatnt to you.
This can be considered suspicious, but nothing had happened to Rashid due to his honesty, which was why Amir didn’t waste much ti and broke the seal on the letter which suddenly caused the surrounding air to stagnate.
"Hmm?" he looked around, only to find himself surrounded by absolute darkness, with the only thing visible being himself as well as the letter in his hand. "This." Panic, there was a hint of panic on his face. As this situation was too odd and dangerous.
Ignorance begets fear which Amir was suffering from. Even the thought of being betrayed by Rashid surfaced in his mind for a little bit, before he stopped and took out the letter ever so slowly.
He would not blindly throw bla at others, as of now, nothing has happened to him. ’I have been isolated, probably a protection thod due to the importance of this letter.’ Amir thought, before opening the letter and reading the contents.
Contents that only spoke of few words, but they spoke of a disaster.
"?? Millions will die?" The content of the letter was unbelievable, but Amir had to believe it due to this odd presentation where he had been isolated from the world.
"Exposing the matters will scare the snake, hide and act in darkness." Were the rest of the words. As for the sender of this letter? There was no na on it, that made Amir suspicious of Rashid, before shaking his head, as he found it was far from Rashid’s capability to summon this odd space, which suddenly started to waver after Amir had read the letter to end.
And then before he could react, he found himself back to reality, with nothing but ashes in his hand.
The letter had burned down along with the rest of the content of the letter. And if not for the envelope in which it ca, Amir might have considered all of it to be a weird illusion. "What is going on?"
What should he do in this situation? What can he do?
He was not the old him without many responsibilities with the exception of those that ca with his identity.
Now, he was a chief researcher in Sector 32, working alongside General as well as Professor Wilhelm Faust, whose armor and strength made a na for his Mage armor platoon during the war with Yethel.
It’s impossible for him to leave his position.
"Why give this knowledge?" Amir wondered for a bit, before calling his maid and asking to look for Rashid, while he got ready for work like usual.
As for his entourage, it was only Hemant and no one else.
"Professor, we were unable to find Officer Rashid anywhere after he left the mansion." He heard the Maid’s report with so dejection. He had hoped to understand what this letter ant, what kind of trouble was brewing in the Capital city, and why was he the one being called there.
All of it felt a bit too odd, this might just be a ga of the people he should call his enemies. Not the nobles from when he was still a greenhorn, but soone else. So jealous people he had the luck of eting very recently.
People were angered by his research.
But these were still a bunch of cowards, no matter how irritated they were with his work, they wouldn’t voice out their thoughts due to his identity as a Prince, nor would they do the sa things his colleague and sowhat of a teacher Wilhelm Faust suffered from.
’But that odd space, I can already imagine that simple spell would have cost a fortune to cast on the letter. It’s too big of a loss to be used on , just for an attempt at life.
Then there were the foreign enemies, eying him and the mage-tech armor he had been building. The chances of it being the truth were the greatest. But he didn’t let his mind go astray so easily.
This is why, after telling Hemant of what had transpired, he ordered him to send a ssage to his Grandfather. "Make sure that the word reaches him." Amir refused to go to whatever the letter said to him. Instead, he chose to hand this ssage to his grandfather directly, including the warning over how to deal with this matter.
Thinking with soone of his grandfather’s stature, he will do as he sees fit.
Or so he thought.
There was little he could do in his position besides exploiting his relationship with his grandfather.
He would only later co to learn, how big of a mistake Amir had made that day.

It was around twelve of Night, when a sudden dull sound reverberated in Rosso’s soul, throwing him awake.
But he never moved or spoke a word, remaining sleeping just like others in his small room.
’What is going on?’ He suppressed his thoughts as much as he could and made it appear as if he was dreaming through the little skills he had learned from his creator, all in order to make it appear that he was genuinely dreaming at this mont.
But on the inside, there was only confusion as well as fear. ’Had I been found out?’ This was a suffocating feeling. The dirty gaze that tried to unravel all the secrets hidden in his body.
If it were a normal homunculus, they would have already been found out. It was only the eye of lancholy that intercepted this prying gaze and fed it false information.
A temporary asure that would easily be noticed if the attention of the being to whom this gaze belonged focused his sight on him.
But, Rosso was just one of the millions in this whole place, and there were far more interesting people in this district than Rosso, so the attention was never fully on him, instead, it was divided virtually to the whole district, with focus on certain households as well as hos of hidden experts that rarely appear in the world.
And when a weird sound ca from the sky, the gaze suddenly disappeared from Rosso’s body, making him sign back in relief.
"Legendary beings are running amok." There was a hint of frustration, their existence just made the whole plan a bit more problematic.
With a Legendary sitting down here. All it required them was a thought to destroy what he was planning.
’Hopefully, they are here only temporarily.’ Rosso prayed, before focusing the connection to the larvae that were slowly multiplying in the dirty sewers of the southern district. But then again, his Creator had spoken of his whole lineage being cursed with bad luck.
Which is why he was regularly taught to assu the worst in any scenario and act on that. ’A bit of change... I need strength.’ Rosso was even more sure about what to do at this point.
It ca morning and Rosso hadn’t felt the sa gaze since, but he was not sure the Legendary was not hiding in the southern district.
Which is why he looked toward the water well, as a dirty plan ca into his mind. ’They need to fear . They need to fear for their people.’ After drinking his fill Rosso chose to leave the water well and moved on with his job as usual. But there have been so changes made already.
’It will be worse.’
: We were worried you might have been caught. : You are not caught, right?
"I have my ans... so don’t worry about ."
: Then I am envious. : If not for your warning from before. : A bunch of my people might already been dead: Or worse, they might have gotten caught.
Hearing that being caught was worse than dying, went to show what kind of life they lived. Sotis, dead is better. It’s an absolute end with a chance of reincarnation at the end, so why not take it instead of being tortured till you expose the secrets of your fellow followers?
"Then you should thank , and support when I do make a move."
: And When is that?
"When the enemies the least expect it." The goal was not to harm Rudrain and its people. But if he could achieve his goal by harming them, he didn’t mind it.
The focus still remained on that old man nad Heroth, the only person who knew the location of Malindi. So to et him, Rosso was ready to do everything in his power. Even if it ant turning into a complete monster.
