Trust was hard to co by these days, but without it, there was no chance of survival.

So although his instincts told him that sothing was wrong and things might go bad, the Butler chose to accept the suggestion.

What else could he do, they were at my rcy. Specifically, Farhad. Who claid to show them the path, and he did do it after seeing the two parties nod.

"Then co with us." Farhad was not moody at the mont, he had chosen to accept my help and also accepted the small job I gave him, which was taking this old man who had sohow escaped the clutches of Remira on his own by diverting her attention.

A good choice, but he did make things tough for , aning a price had to be paid by him. Which can only be paid when he survives this ordeal, otherwise, there would be no reason to create such an extensive one-sided contract with him.

No, it was better with his little offense, as the more regulations he broke in the contract, the tighter my grip over him would beco. A future where he is a re slave is not far off.

They started to rush in one by one, first were the transcendents, who questioned the villagers before rushing inside their houses which had been abandoned. All their eyes looking for one thing and one thing alone.

Which was reputation.

If they were to apprehend any human here, even if they were innocent, that expert could probably earn so favors in the governnt.

All because of where they were and what the humans were responsible for in the capital a few months ago.

However, so among them did get pushy with questions from villagers, causing injuries and even the death of a certain drunk fool who tried to be too straightforward with his words. An unexpected accident which was not sothing I expected to see.

’They don’t belong to an official organization.’ It was then that I understood that the earliest ones were not normal experts, but belonged to the underworld, specifically the Gutters, who usually hold a far faster intelligence network.

A sign that the two worlds of Bothal, the Gutters, and the city governnt have co to a certain understanding during these days when I was not present there.

They were working together, which ant that any further activity in the capital would be futile, as there was no place to hide anymore.

"This place has lost its value, liquidate the assets, and move out."

"As you order." The young man with a bright face nodded in the air, before moving on with his work.

This was Baldar, who died not too long ago. Or at least his old body, specifically, his main body that he used and used again until it was ragged after being beaten so many tis.

As for the current him.

He held the sa face but looked younger and fresher, that is if you consider the sll of sulfur fresh that is.

"Pretty silent after what happened to your original body. Are you not happy with my suggestion?"

"It was good, her state of mind is better than before, and she won’t mourn for anymore. I have made sure of that." In truth, this was the plan from the start. However, Jara was forced to bring it forward by a few months at most in order to deal with Remira, who popped up out of nowhere while manipulating her into protecting his old girlfriend.

"You sad little kid, did you already forget that you broke your persona a bit by the end? She saw the real you, and she will probably mourn for that little part of you.

"I... I did?" Baldar asked in confusion, making understand one thing.

’He doesn’t rember, even with my help, he can’t rember?’

A bad on in my eyes.

There was a reason I loved and hated him. His blood was just that special.

Although the origin of curses was unknown to most, there was one group of beings that were Master of Curses and the original enemies of Exorcist, which were the demons.

The Origin creatures born of sin that wreaked havoc in reality even before the ti of the Knights and mages.

It was only after their banishnt that the Magicians were able to start popping out. A sign of peace and disaster, as the magicians took the dominant position of power from the Exorcist’s hands.

Followed by the Knights who didn’t even need to practice or learn much, as long as they could strengthen their bloodline, they would automatically get strong.

So in such a situation, what were the exorcists ought to do? What can they do even?

Of course, it was to adapt with ti and create their own unique Exorcist bloodlines, to birth a family, just like the Knights had. And they hunted countless transcendental creatures for this.

But no matter what they did, nothing worked. Because as it turns out, the Bloodline thod had a stark but hidden requirent, and it was the will of the Originator, without a proper will, the blood will be corrupt and kill the subject going through the adaptation process.

It was then the Demons that had been banished by the Exorcist ca to them again, though they were not there to fight, they t them with an offer.

An offer that the Exorcist can’t deny, no matter how dangerous all of it was.

Because in their eyes, this offer was way too simple and harmless. Exorcists don’t need to use blood much anyway. The most they will do is use their blood to create talismans or draw them to conduct so ceremony or magic enchantnts.

Nothing else.

And there will be no foolish exorcist in their clan to go and awaken the demonic bloodline, as they had the rule to execute the traitors.

Or so the story goes.

As for how much that is true, I can’t say for certain. But this is what I was able to find out about Jara’s blood that interested so much. And he would have made a great exorcist if not for using that thing on himself.

Well, what is done is done.

"Your words hold true I guess... I can feel so additional information that popped up as a mory in my mind..." With a pause, Baldar then said. "It seed to have replaced so of my original knowledge with the new one."

"What kind of information?" I wondered.

"My life, my happy mories... I know it might sound weird, but this information seems to have replaced my happy mories... my ti with her." Jara knew when he was the happiest, and it was probably why he found that the things he rembered as happy were there no more.

’Was I happy when I broke the character earlier?’ He wondered. Recalling my words and how his hard work might be ruined after all this ti. But he soon ca to calm down.

"It’s good then, forgetting her will curb your urge to see her again." I did feel pity for this man. I felt bad for giving him such a job, but it was not like I expected him to grow conscious and try to martyr himself for a bunch of nobodies.

"Don’t you feel scared about what is replacing my original thoughts?" He asked , looking toward the corner with a small chaleon on the wall. And my lizard tongue flicked in and out, before shaking in denial. "That new knowledge in your head is sothing I might need in the future. So why would I feel scared of a self-filling library?"

The original reason why I didn’t hand him Team One was because of this. I couldn’t trust him, or what he might beco one day. But it didn’t an he held no value.

No, more than that, he seems to hold more value than before.

I was originally planning to use him to understand the physique of a Demon. Harvest his blood, hair, and flesh for so potions or talisman-making.

He was the perfect target to be used for such jobs.

But now, his value seed to have increased, he was a lot more useful when looking at it from a certain perspective.

"You are interested in that useless information?" He asked in wonder and I nodded. "Who wouldn’t be? Demons are rare these days. Not after the Knights appeared, that is."

"The contract still stands?"

"I would make it better than before. With so additional requirents concerning your blood and hair, which have beco a bit more useful than before."

"Then Sheva, I wish that you ensure her safety."

"I am not a fairy Godmother of so kind, I gave you the suggestion and it worked, If she were to survive this ordeal, then I am ready to send her three tis the promised amount as well."

"But that is if she is lucky enough to survive." The Church of Jester was a church in na only.

The true reason I nad it such was for future purposes to gain tax-free status in case our organization were to grow, and in hopes that the governnt censor wouldn’t use the excuse of our old na to pit us.

Because no matter where you are, the true demons in the world were the IRS. They would do anything to extract your hard-earned money from you.

"She will survive, she always does."

"I hope she survives as well," I said with a straight face, though there was not much of an emotion I could make through the face of a reptile anyway.
