Fahna’s departure had no impact on the situation of Bothal Whatsoever. Her existence was nothing more than an annoyance for most people. A political disaster in the making.

So Fahna leaving by herself was good news to most of the parties involved.

Not to ntion, this now gave them ti to properly approach their true target, which was none other than Salvarez. The dwarf was considered to be a volatile bomb due to the unexpected accident his family faced.

Which if were to be found out by him, as well as the rest of the city. Things would go bad for real. There would be investigations by third parties and the truth will eventually be found out. Because no matter what day it is. Salvarez still belonged to the Bastard Bear bloodline, which was the closest to what might one consider royalty among the human kingdoms.

One of the ancient Protector families that have kept the Pulgasiri protected from countless invasions. And now, if it were to be found out how a particular branch of the Bastard bears had been purged in the middle of the city.

Things won’t remain calm as they are now.

And considering Salvarez’s nature, there will be a ti when he finds out and when this whole city might see an upheaval.

Making many in the company wonder, who was stupid enough to pull such a move. At first, if they had just killed Salvarez, then it would be an attack on him as a detective and nothing more. The matter won’t turn that big, even if there will be so push from the main family.

But the mont one touches his family, the matter becos bigger. It’s an attack on the bloodline.

"Officer Blue. I have been waiting for you." Red said, looking at the four bodies in the mortuary. The three bodies that were recovered from the Krugal Sltver’s ho. "What happened blue? Didn’t you say you would handle this side?"

Blue ntioned, a bit annoyed, how he had been disturbed by Red’s call.

Originally the two had different jobs, The Reds were to find the reason why these targeted assassinations were taking place, aning, they blad the victim and tried to find the reason why they were being hunted.

A dangerous avenue for the Company, but they were expecting sothing like this from the start and had been expecting it to so extent.

While Blue’s job was to apprehend the assassins. Learn who is going around the city, attacking random or sowhat connected individuals, and then bring them to justice.

Both sides went after different targets, but all seemingly connected. The governnt and its leaders were not blinded by the oddities that were happening in the city. They were aware but just bidding their ti.

With the attack of Salveraz brings it all to the surface.

And yes, this was all Salvarez’s doing. His little actions of looking at the right places at the wrong ti, give the investigators who were working in the dark a direction. And they would have learned the truth not too long after, if not for the Company’s intrusion and using one of their hidden cars in the CBI.

A card that they were not happy to utilize so early on in this ga, but they were forced and they had to also learn how much the governnt had known about them and their actions.

Which now they did.

Earning them so ti to "clean" their house before causing any more mayhem.

And Krugal Sltver turned into a victim of such a cleaning.

One small mistake had led to this. Or so many thoughts. But I know a different truth, the truth hidden by Fahna, who had left the city, and so special people hidden in the Gutters. Who probably will take the truth to their grave.

But this is why I loved this situation so much.

"And I intend to do just that, but before that, I want to ask you to go with to et with Yazmod Sltver."

Hearing these words, the face of Blue crumbled a bit. "This is your job, don’t ask to babysit. I am busy with my own work."

"We might be going after different targets, but our case is still the sa. Not to ntion, I found sothing odd at the cri scene." Red them and put down so photos. One of which showed an unstable figure walking out of the cri scene. A figure made out of Red’s magic.

"This is soone who shouldn’t be there, a human at that. And the only human employed there was the driver. Whose body we found filled with dangerous neurotoxins. His death was the oddest of the three bodies we have recovered."

"... Can’t he be part of the assassin group that I am hunting? This might just be the bladed assassin?"

"No, we have found traces of him leaving the venue much earlier than this one did. And as if waiting, this one only got up after the cri scene had turned cold and before our arrival."

"A third party you have to find."

"... The Sltver Patriarch, you have reason to believe he is after the third guy?"

"Never expected for a human like you to catch on so fast," Red said with a laugh. But Red hasn’t ended his words yet. "Did you find sothing, or is this another one of your flukes?"

"We will find it when we need Yazmod. So co with , rember what Commander has said to us before dispatch."

"Is this the house?" I confird Max’s question while pointing asking him to look at the left. "Look at that cetery?... If a fight were to break out, try to lead it there... it will spare us so innocent death." I made a suggestion to which Max didn’t say much.

No, he didn’t say much, but he did scoff at . "Didn’t you plunge more than thousands of people into eternal sleep? Heard most of the families of those victims opted to have them die."

"Inevitably, I did my best to support them enough so as to decrease the sacrifice, which would have happened eventually and it would have taken a whole city down with it." I gave an excuse, but Max didn’t seem to believe any of my claims.

"Let’s ignore the topic for now, let’s focus on the target, who is coming to kill the detective and how strong are they?"

An appropriate question to be asked in this situation. But telling him all of it now would ruin so of the fun. "Just consider it so inevitable enemies. The kinds you can’t beco friends with, unlike your long lost disciple."

"Just tell , how strong are they?"

"One of them is a peak Master level Mage. Capable of leveling a city block, if he decided to do so. As for the rest, they will co as backup, and considering your current strength, you would easily be able to handle them."

"Good then." He said to , then after giving the small mansion one last look, he left.

He had checked the area and found multiple escape routes in case things went bad. But that was it, he didn’t need to act for now, but focus more on preparation.

The current Max was dirt poor, the money he had left, he had used to buy so exhaust system to pump up air into his new ho, while his supply of poison oils and acid was exhausted.

The core of his arsenal, which he used to make up for his lack of firepower when battling opponents on his own level. So he will steal again today, buy so materials, and concoct his new poisons and hope, just hope that nothing bad happens till then.

"It won’t happen, hell you have enough ti to go and cut the finger of the boy if you want."

"... is the boy’s father rich?"

"Rich enough to afford his boy a whole body if he wanted."

Then Max cald down, making up his mind on what he was going to do tonight.

Because tonight was going to be one hell of a night for a small child.

"Weren’t we on our way to Leshen? Why are we in this room?" Farhad asked again, after waking up from his deep sleep. And didn’t speak anymore.

This was the third ti. She had decapitated Farhad a total of three tis and had recently learned what Farhad’s powers entailed.

But unlike the first two tis, she didn’t speak much. And said, "We were ambushed by assassins and you lost, got cut apart too much. It’s a miracle that you are alive." She lied to his face, while she had already sent the tree heads she had in her hands to the headquarters for proper research and understanding of the curse that had ingrained itself in Farhad’s body.

"Really?, why can’t I rember any of it?" He thought hard, real hard. But none of that mory ca to him, as if it was deleted from his head forever. While Remira also didn’t ntion a thing, she just put a small mirror next to Farhad’s face and then said. "Probably this. Your head was smashed with a hamr. And I never expected that you would slowly heal from it."

She appeared surprised, an act that Farhad didn’t buy until he saw how he looked. "You... this. Is this permanent?" He wondered in fear. But Remira didn’t say much and then put out a mask. "Just wear this from now on, unlike , others would just run away from you in fear if they saw your face."

There was so irony in her words that Farhad couldn’t seem to pinpoint at this point. All he could do was curse his luck.
