I hugged Erin and defended her like a man and faced the explosion.
The hoverboard transford into a shield due to its auto-defend function and was currently blocking the explosion but it slowly lted due to the explosion's high temperature.
The surrounding high temperature made my clothes burned but it beca cooler all of a sudden.
The source of the cold temperature was from Erin as she mumbled words that I was not able to understand.
"Frost Wall!"
Erin suddenly chant and a wall made out of ice appeared in front of us which blocked the explosion.
The wall of ice was still not able to completely withstand the heat of the explosion as it started to lt.
There must be sothing wrong with the explosion since a usual bomb explosion would only last for several seconds.
Even though I'm still surprised that Erin was able to use the forces of nature, it was not the ti to ask such questions so I put aside such questions and focused on the problem at hand.
I used my soul energy and scattered it throughout every part of the room which gave a ntal image of the source of the explosion.
I found out that there was so sort of a small bead that released an explosion every second and made the surrounding temperature rise.
"I can't defend against the explosion any longer, Alex! I am running out of mana every second that passes!"
"I'll find a way to destroy the source of the explosion. Please hold on a little longer!"

I made a huge hand using my soul energy and controlled it to hold the small bead.
Surprisingly, the huge soul energy hand that I had materialized was able to touch the small bead despite the small bead being a physical object.
I rembered that the imposter had told that my soul energy was a fragnt of the system so if I was able to touch the small bead despite being a physical object, then it was a product of the system?

I got a hold of the small bead by using my soul energy hand and I applied pressure into it but it was still not enough to even leave a dent on the small bead.
I gathered every soul energy and strength I had to forcefully destroy the small bead and unfortunately, only a small crack appeared and all of my soul energy was used up.
I was no longer able to destroy the small bead. Erin's wall of ice had almost lted and any second it would collapse.
I felt the surrounding temperature rise as the wall of ice started to lt. After that, the wall of ice collapsed and my last line of defense, which was my hoverboard continued to lt.
Is this the end? At least, I will die with Erin. Although I pity Reishi for not dying together with us.
I covered Erin using my body and even though she would still die after I died, at least I would felt a sense of fulfillnt that I did not abandon her and faced adversity like a man.
The surrounding temperature suddenly rose and I assud the cause of it was my hoverboard, which was blocking the explosion, had lted.
I felt a burning sensation on my back as it ca into contact with the explosion.
My body felt tired, my vision started to dim and I began to lose consciousness.

It was all dark. I could not see anything. Am I dead?
Was there no afterlife? Was it all a myth? Too bad scientific knowledge can't discover the mysteries of the afterlife.

An hour had passed while I'm inside this dark place. It felt as if I was floating inside a place.
I often felt sleepy but I tried to stay awake. What will happen if I slept while I'm in this place? Will I also lose my precious mories? That's what I thought so I tried my best to stay awake.

I looked at my surroundings and saw Erin beside .

Erin was sleeping so I did not wake her up but instead sat near her and waited before she wakes up.
For so reason, I am having a bad feeling that sothing was going to happen again.
