After Jin Xianglan left, Lu Jia’er went into the ladies’ room. When she ca out and was about to head back to the lab, she felt soone grabbing her hand and that soone dragged her into a corner.

She was starting to fight back when she suddenly realized that it was Jin Xiangdong.

Lu Jia’er was surprised. “Ace?”

The next second, Jin Xiangdong covered up her mouth with his hands so that she could not make any other sounds. “Shush!”

Lu Jia’er was confused by all these mysterious actions. But a few seconds later, she noticed sothing was off. The expression in his eyes and his scent were different from Jin Xiangdong’s. More importantly, after Lu Jia’er learned how to change people’s appearances, she could recognize those tricks of disguise.

Lu Jia’er shook off his hands. “You are not Ace, are you?”

Jin Xiangdong was about to cover up her mouth again when she said in a low voice. “Ian!”

Ian’s hands were frozen in the air. He blinked. Putting his hands down, Ian whispered, “It is !”

Lu Jia’er could only think of using the word elusive to describe Ian here.

“Where is Ace?” Lu Jia’er wanted to imdiately confirm if Jin Xiangdong was safe.

“I knocked him out in the bathroom,” Ian admitted his true identity.

“What?” This ca as a shock to Lu Jia’er.

Ian went on, “Jia’er, you should not have co here.”

Looking into Ian’s eyes, Lu Jia’er asked in a low voice, “What is happening? What are you doing here?”

“This is a long story. I cannot make it clear to you at this mont. Besides, this place is on full lock-down. It is not a place for us to talk.” Ian was looking around as he uttered those words.

Lu Jia’er hesitated for a bit after she heard this. “Will Ace be safe?” She kept her voice low.

Ian lowered his head to her. “Yes!”

“Are you sure?” Lu Jia’er had to make sure.

At this, a look unclear in aning flashed past Ian’s eyes. “Jia’er, trust !”

Lu Jia’er looked into Ian’s eyes. She believed him and let her guard down.

Ian could sense that. “You must work with later!” He said.

“Work with you on what?” Lu Jia’er was puzzled.

“Just follow my lead!” Ian said.

Lu Jia’er seed to have understood sothing. “Do you have anything to do with the siren ringing?”

“Yes!” Ian admitted. He looked to the left and saw four security guards coming at them. “Follow my lead!” With that said, he picked up Lu Jia’er’s hand.

Lu Jia’er did not fight back and just put her hand in his. But at the sa ti, the confusion was deepening in her heart. Ever since Ian disappeared, every ti he showed himself, he would be so mysterious. That being said, she was convinced that he was the answer and key to the secret of who created her.

The four security guards walked towards them and when they saw the two of them said, “Please halt and show us your credentials!”

Ian answered, “We are Professor Jin Xianglan’s family!”

The security guards did not buy his words. “Show your credentials!”

Lu Jia’er slowly reached into her pocket to grab her credentials when she fixed her eyes on the security guard. She was attempting to hypnotize him. Right at that mont, she heard Jin Xianglan’s voice, “Xiangdong, Professor Lu!”

Jin Xianglan ca to them. Then, she showed the security guards the passes for Jin Xiangdong and Lu Jia’er. The security guards left.

Jin Xianglan said, “Sothing is happening at the research lab. The security alert is going up. You may need to leave before !”

Lu Jia’er nodded. “Okay!”

“I will show you outside!” Jin Xianglan told them.

Ian exchanged a look with Lu Jia’er as they followed Jin Xianglan’s steps.

When the three of them reached the screening point, Jin Xianglan moved her face closer to the detector for recognition. That was when her phone in her pocket began to ring again.
